To be fair, Gundam's a clusterfuck of fail in that (unlike NGE) it's got over half a dozen timelines that was the main show at multiple points in the franchise, about 90% of the franchise never aired on TV or streaming, plus several high profile flops (most notably Seed and it's sequel series) and the debacle involving OG Gundam and Zeta (Gundam got canceled several episodes shy of it's conclusion in the US, Zeta got dubbed but the dub rejected by Cartoon Network, forcing them to release G Gundam instead) and Seed and it's sequel pretty much killing any chance for future new show Gundam releases for over a decade.
