Edit: I did some reading recently about the services trans people can expect to receive from gynecologists. I imagine that during medical school, the gynecologist at least get some familiarity and practice with prostrate exams etc, because all new doctors have to receive training in a variety of medical disciplines. I don't know if that means that a gynecologist will necessarily perform those exams though - it may depend on the individual doctor and their comfort level.

Apart from that, though, they can still perform other medical services for trans people such as;

- Taking swabs and ordering urine samples and bloodwork for sexually transmitted infections, yeast infections and bacterial infections
- Breast exams
- Give advice about practices relating to safe sex and contraception
- Pap smear

So it's possible that a gynecologist will palpate JY's titties for lumps, maaaaaybe do an exam of his prostrate etc, and then possibly order some swabs and stuff for routine STI testing. Maybe a urinalysis and urine culture.

I had to do some reading about the pap smear thing, it actually does make sense for post-op transwomen to get them (so not JY who still sports a ladydique). Simply because cancers can arise in any tissue in the body; skin can get skin cancer, colon can get colon cancer, etc. So if someone has a neovagina jerryrigged out of skin grafts and colon grafts or whatever, those cancers could still arise in that location. So a swab every now and then makes perfect sense, because doctors will still be able to tell to look at it whether or not they've scraped up some cancer cells.

If JY insists on a pap smear though I don't know if he expects his taint or his asshole or what to be swabbed. Colon cancer screenings usually involve a stool sample to look for trace amounts of blood. Any family doctor can order this test.

The HOA fees on a 55+ building can cost almost as much as a mortgage payment, especially if there's provisions for moving owners into "memory care" should that be necessary.

When dead dad Yitzhak was still alive, he and Miriam had some sort of social circle including Terry Whin-Yates (Mr. Locksmith) and Flemming Andersen (Andersen Autohaus A1). Jonathan glommed onto HIS PARENTS' FRIENDS for asspats, causing them local and international embarrassment, and they aren't around for him or Mom anymore. His wunderkind (or is it mastermind?) SM friends like Justin R have also deserted him. Even McDonald's crew member Jessica Pedzikski of rural Michigan bailed on him after he told Alicia Hendley that he didn't know her.

How can you file a lawsuit against a doctor for that? If he goes to a gyno, and demands tests to be performed on him despite not having the proper biology for said tests, a doctor cannot ethically and legally perform those tests. That would be malpractice in a way and could see that doctor lose his license to practice medicine.

Dunno how it works in Leafland, but down here offices often ask you to download and fill out your own questionnaires, releases, etc before you even show up. They generally offer to mail you a copy or will comply if you ask them to if you can't into computers.

It doesn't really, though. Neovaginas are not made of vaginal tissue and don't have cervixes. They are modified skin and would be far better monitored by wound care specialists (since they are, in fact, surgical wounds intended never to heal) or dermatologists who are familiar with the kinds of cancers that skin gets. Any kind of doc can order speculums if they need to take a skin swab. Boob cancer can be screened for by regular GPs and managed by oncologists. Every trans woman that makes ob-gyn appointments wastes their own time, their doctors' time, and does not get the kind of medical expertise they actually require which would lengthen their lives or improve their neovag healing. I understand that SRS surgeons like to boot their patients out the door and never see them again for this kind of reason (featuring our girl Morgane Oger!)- but they would be far more appropriate choices for maintenance than someone who delivers babies for their bread and butter. JY wants an OB for the exact reason all these nutters want them: because only women need OBs.

Sikhs occupy an interesting place in the oppressed-peoples landscape in Canada. Canada has the largest Sikh population outside of the Punjab. They are technically a minority, but one that has been very successful. Their community is large and prosperous (especially in BC). They own lots of property and businesses, and even have organized crime gangs. There are tons of turbaned Sikhs in the Parliament. One of them is the Defense Minister, and one is a leader of one of the left-wing political parties.

(There's also stuff about Sikh community infighting, radical Sikhs, terrorism and the Air India bombing, and other layers of complexity I don't know enough about to explain.)

So yeah, Sikhs are a minority but not as many oppression points as Muslims or troons. Probably a bit analogous to the American/European Jewish community. Sometimes they are an attacked minority subject to racism. Sometimes they're your asshole landlord.

Edit to add: Also, most Sikhs reeaaaally hate Muslims. I think that's who they carry the daggers for.

Sounds like Yaniv’s father had business friends in the Jewish community. They probably tolerated crazy Miriam in deference to him and then felt sorry for her once he dropped dead. But sympathy on lasts so long and goes so far. Now they cant even get pity and are just lepers.

When you say sister, I assume either Miram’s Sister or her SIL? I can’t imagine Miriam has a daughter /Jonathan has a sister, or I can, but that she would have ran far far away long ago and changed her name.

I would hope the eventual result of an exchange like this is the doctor saying, "Yes, Jessica, I'm referring you to a much better facility for Pap Smears." and a few minutes later a group of men dressed in white holding a straight jacket show up.

If you live in the Lower Mainland you know this.) and that kind of hatred between the two cultures really remains back in the old country and is the result of the creation of the muslim nation of Pakistan containing much of the ancestral land of the Sikhs, the Punjab. Some of the elders of both communities may hold on to the old grudge too, but not near as many who were born here in Canada.

This is true even here in England. The majority are now 3rd generation immigrants and for most the partition of India is but a historical footnote.
