I imagine that during medical school, the gynecologist at least get some familiarity and practice with prostrate exams etc, because all new doctors have to receive training in a variety of medical disciplines. Apart from that, though, they can still perform other medical services for trans people such as;

- Taking swabs and ordering urine samples and bloodwork for sexually transmitted infections, yeast infections and bacterial infections
- Breast exams
- Give advice about practices relating to safe sex and contraception
- Pap smear

So it's possible that a gynecologist will palpate JY's titties for lumps, maaaaaybe do an exam of his prostrate etc, and then possibly order some swabs and stuff for routine STI testing. Maybe a urinalysis and urine culture.

I had to do some reading about the pap smear thing, it actually does make sense for post-op transwomen to get them (so not JY who still sports a ladydique). Simply because cancers can arise in any tissue in the body; skin can get skin cancer, colon can get colon cancer, etc. So if someone has a neovagina jerryrigged out of skin grafts and colon grafts or whatever, those cancers could still arise in that location. So a swab every now and then makes perfect sense, because doctors will still be able to tell to look at it whether or not they've scraped up some cancer cells.

If JY insists on a pap smear though I don't know if he expects his taint or his asshole or what to be swabbed. Colon cancer screenings usually involve a stool sample to look for trace amounts of blood. Any family doctor can order this test.

No, no it does not.

It's not a pap smear and he can insist to his hearts content but it's not physically possible. A pap is only for the cervix, which no trans-woman has- no matter what they claim. It's why alongside your regular pap smear as a born woman you also get a pelvic exam. which may include other samplings or furthur investigation if the Gyno notices something concerning. So can a trans-woman whose post op get a pelvic exam? yes, but they cannot get a pap because it's a specific test for a specific part of the female reproductive system they do not have and is done to test for a specific cancer they cannot get.

So the correct term, and what most troons are too dumb to grasp, is a pelvic exam- not a pap smear. They go together usually but aren't interchangeable. Pap is specific, Pelvic could arguably be done for a post-op- though if the neovagina is made of a bunch of different donor tissues frankened together I would imagine they'd do some biopsies of that skin if they have concerns, and there would be specific doctors for specialty of those specific cancers- none of which are a Gyno. The vagina is not an inverted penis, a Gyno is used to an actual functional biological vagina- not something made of stitched together skin from other sites- the actual organ system of a born woman. If a man notices something funky with his penis he doesn't book an appointment with a gyno, he goes to his family doctor who'd probably refer him to a urologist. Flipping it inside out doesn't magically change what it originally was.

It's more or less another case of troons artificially inflating wait lists for actual women for procedures that could get elsewhere or with their family doctor or with a urologist.

I see what you're saying, but the swabs won't be read in the office anyways. Whether collected by a woundcare specialist or a gynecologist, they all get forwarded to histology and cytology labs to be read by the same professionals. Cytotechnologists and histopathologists are trained in the microscopic appearance of all tissue types and will be able to spot cancer cells regardless of the specimen.

I do agree though that many of the services can also be adequately performed by a GP. You don't really need to see a specialist to pee in a cup or get your boobs squeezed.

Edit: I stand corrected on the terminology of "pap smear" however, when neovaginal smear would be more correct.

He denied that he was the perv asking about menstruation in a fetishistic manner, but then opts to ask detailed questions of the defendent about what is different when performing a Brazilian wax on a menstruating woman. I can think of no better way to confirm "yes, that was me in the screenshots". The tribunal is also dumb for allowing that to fly. It has nothing to do with anything except letting yaniv get jollies. I am 100% sure that he is going to harass the gynecologist office in some related way.

One of the more memorable parts of The Sociopath Next Door is when the author explains that sociopaths love to make other people jump, because they lack any positive way to get enjoyment from life. They don't have any connection to other people on an emotional level, and are perpetually bored with life, so that's all there really is to do, most of them abuse substances as well.

They look pretty specifically for endocervical (inner-cervix) cells in pap smears, but even without those the difference between skin cells and cervix cells is going to be clear enough that it will cause a problem at the laboratory. Cytologists have some real serious liability, they rightly want everything in order so they don't cause a misdiagnosis. If the source on a specimen is totally wrong then everything else, including which patient the sample is from, gets called into question.

I understand. The specimen will probably have a note attached on the requisition or in the computer. For source they'll probably have to select "other" from a drop-down menu and free-type "Neovagina" or something to that effect. The cells on the smear would be easily recognised as ordinary epithelial cells instead of endocervical cells.

Other than for cytology purposes, swabs could also go to microbiology to do gram stains. Here's an entire article about the sorts of bacteria to expect in a neovagina.
