My point is more the childless loser stereotype seems weird since I notice a bunch of dads. Maybe I'm in the wrong but it feels like a misplaced stereotype.
Aren't like most of the CG guys married or have kids?
I'm talking about age and gender demographics, not social status, you can be male and in your 30s-40's, read comics
and be a perfectly functional member of society, shocker I know!
Now it's probably at least a decade since I darkened the door of my local comic book store, so it's interesting to know who's frequenting them these days, but are they buying comicbooks or gaming and buying all the other stuff that LCS need to stock these days to survive?
It's hard to get an accurate picture, on the one hand you have shill sites trying to convince you that women account for nearly 50% of readers:
Market Research Says 46.67% of Comic Fans are Female Tweet While we don’t have any market research, the eyes don’t lie. If you go to conventions and comic book stores, more and more female readers …

Which Marvel seems to believe..
"While we don’t have any market research, the eyes don’t lie. If you go to conventions and comic book stores, more and more female readers are emerging. They are starved for content and looking for content they can relate to.
– Axel Alonso, Marvel’s editor-in-chief
That's nice Axel, but since launching all these pandering titles ......where are the fuckin' sales?
Meanwile Newsarama tells me that:
The greying of the comic book readership? Not so fast.
www.newsarama.com
"According to most retailers we surveyed, ongoing comic book consumers have aged in recent years to average in their mid- to late-30s."
"When we opened in 1988, we located close to three high schools, several middle and elementary schools," said Joe Field, owner of Flying Colors Comics in Concord, California. "Back then, the average age of a Flying Colors customer was about 18. These days, the average age is 35. Yes, comics sure have matured!"
With a lack of new readers coming in that makes more sense to me, as does the fact that it's not girls buying cape shit.
