ComicsGate is the alternative to the SJW mainstream, and it's an idea. When Doug got what he needed from ComicsGate, he split off, because Doug is a guy who wants to be truly independent. He's not out to keep comics prosperous, he's out to keep himself prosperous, and get the IP that he created as a kid back. He's also furious that his Christian views got him blacklisted, and he doesn't want to keep them quiet for the sake of a larger movement. Everything Doug is doing makes sense for Doug. He needed a boost, and CG was happy to give him one. But Doug is gonna be Doug, and he's going to thrive.

Creators come and go with ComicsGate. Some will stay and keep rowing, like Malin says, others will decide they can't, don't want to, or will find another path. More will take their place, and the best of them will also thrive.

The critics and consumers would continue doing what they were doing before the pros brought the drama that evolved into the purity spiral that is consuming comicsgate now. That is moving the needle, pointing consumers to products free from politics boosting the sales to products they want to see coming out of the industry.
