Damn. Some of my old posts from five years ago are pretty dumb...2009 had a lot of Internet drama for me, banned from at least one site, and laughed out by another...but some of those posts are just mean-spirited. I hope you've matured since then, Connor.

I've posted some cringeworthy things---still do---but holy hell, a lot of those posts were really nasty. His response to the guy claiming divine intervention saved his father from suicide was particularly harsh. I'm pretty open about being a frothing, foaming atheist, but I generally try not to shit all over what people take comfort in, even though I don't believe it myself. That was a pretty dick move.

You talk about wanting to write a deep psychological novel, but your writing doesn't give me the impression that you read things other than maybe popular sci-fi or YA. Can you give me some examples of authors you would like to emulate?

That's. . .kinda debatable, dude. I don't have a filter either, but usually after I say something especially bad, I realize right away that, shit, I probably shouldn't have said that. Whereas you seem pretty unapologetic discussing your Molly Ringwald fantasies & crotch-rot with kiwis.

Feel free to ignore this question if it's too personal or too raw. I suffer from depression and anxiety myself, and I know it can be a very isolating experience. If this is overstepping I apologize and will drop it immediately.

Why did you try to kill yourself? I've thought, looking through your posts, that it is because of the aspergers diagnosis you received but I admit that's just baseless speculation. Was there a catalyst? Was it from bullying, or from feeling marginalized?

Well, I can agree that you are more self-aware of yourself than you were before, but It takes a lot more than self-awareness to make the necessary changes to your life that you need.

It was largely the unpleasant social and psychological climate of my high school that drove me to my suicide attempts, especially the second one.

I wouldn't add writing when you can't follow through on writing and editing your own work in a timely fashion.
