I doubt it.

Monica's friendliness with Vic during the Broly press tour tells me that none of this was planned. I think she saw an opportunity during KickVic and used what he knew to complain to Funimation. If she was that clever, she would have had better stories and more witnesses for the investigation. She only had a week to put something together and it shows.

I agree with you that her friendliness with Vic is incongruous with trying to destroy him. But... isn't that the whole point of all of this? That all of these people he thought were his friends all along, weren't? I mean, if Monica can turn on a dime to ruin someone she was friendly with, couldn't she come to the same decision a few years prior? The fact that she was able to compile stuff from years prior that quickly leads me to think that perhaps she had been pondering this years prior. Of course, the biggest hole in my argument, and the best support for your is that this would require Monica to be intelligent and patient, and I am not sure she possesses those qualities...

Despite now being a sizable chunk of the market, localizers (this includes official subtitles) still pay companies a one time payment as they did in the 90s, when most anime didn't make back what you spent and you were gambling until you got a dragonball or pokemon. Most localization rights for anime, unless you're a massive company like toei, are sold for less than the cost to produce half an episode (for a standard 13 episode cour). This allows companies like crunchyroll to operate at near 100% profit margins and have a buffer for any pushback they get for their sjw politics, meanwhile, the struggling japanese industry they fleece wholesale is entirely cut out of a market that is constantly growing to larger percentage of the customer base.

Yeah these two are as plain as wet pasta but I think Vic likely got sucked in by the fantasy of having twins rather than the totality of their individual looks. He said in his deposition that he'd never been with two women at once (take that for what it's worth given the circumstances). I'm guessing he saw the opportunity to knock this one off his bucket list and gave it the old college try. Quantity over quality isn't always a bad thing when you get a chance to bag a unicorn.
