Because she looks down on all of us (weebs, that is).
She took a lot of condescending tones in that deposition. That isn't going to go over well for a jury - makes her more unlikable than she already is. Same thing could be said against her comments about religion.
Speaking of tone, it struck me as very strange the way she conducted herself. I think Carey was able to flatter her enough to make her think she was giving a panel rather than being basically interrogated. I dunno if that's gonna come across to a jury as charismatic or just fake, it's a pretty narrow line. Under scrutiny, you can tell she's pretty uncomfortable, but she also makes a huge show of acting like she isn't. She talks way way more than she should (to the point where I could feel Casey's piercing glare), and laughs so damn much, even where not appropriate. I guess on the transcript it's not gonna look that bad for her, but on video, it just felt so strange, especially after seeing Vic's and Ron's depositions, where Vic was straight to the point and offered no extra info to his deposer, and Ron just squirmed around (offering no info at all).

I guess that's the difference between having depo prep and not having it...

Mignona's case is the culture war eh?

It’s been predicted that this would be the case for at least a year and a half. Basically it’s a cross of the #MeToo train with no brakes and SJWs creeping into nerd shit, something people predicted would not only happen to anime, but be the next giant front. Also, it’s been said that Vic was just one name on a “broken staircase” hitlist that would lead to an industry wide purge. IIRC, Vic was only targeted because some Hazukari guy was on the list and he was chummy with ANN. The only reason we’re where we are is because Nick heard about Vic’s situation and signal boosted it and directed Vic to Ty’s law firm. (Also, wasn’t it said that Vic was already looking to sue for defamation? Because if that’s true, maybe this thread would be here still, but probably quieter).

If anime is part of the culture war, this is definitely the Stalingrad.

Okay, now that we have heard from the three principals, and have the main stories on the table. Is there anything in them that rises to the level of the public defamatory claims made? Anything that goes near “Predatory Rapist”, “Pedophile”, “Sexual Assault” or even “Sexual Harassment”? Even when giving the defendants any benefit of the doubt, and accepting their “truth” at face value, does any of the activity they describe rise to the level of the defamatory claims that they made, as they set about to deny Vic work?

From Monica:

The kissing incident in the hotel room:

Admits she did not say no or fight back. Hid her face so that the only possible witness could not tell anything was wrong. Seems to have gone back later to see Vic on his balcony? (Unsure of timeline on this)

Nothing from Monica said in this instance could be considered sexual assault, rape or any other criminal accusation. Couple the situation and her continued being his friend and "Whisperer" after this alleged assault, her story is full of holes and doubt.

Ron has made multiple accusations based on third party stories.

Twins story of alleged kiss, which is either 2nd hand or third hand depending on if the twin told Monica or Ron about it (bother their testimonies are at odds as to which). Which at worst case is a kiss goodbye as they are leaving.

Ron indicated he saw an under aged fan being hugged by Vic, but could not verify her age, if she gave consent or if parents were there. Did not speak to her or anyone about it. This is the only first hand account by Ron.

Ron spoke of online stories from Pull. Pull is the only website he remembers and believed it because of links. This is the only source he cites for his "100s" or more people as he could not remember any of the articles as sources for his claims. He indicated he would believe anything negative about Vic.

while something on PULL could be considered crimes, it is just as accurate to say it could indicate Vic has the ability to rape people in dreams. This is not a solid source for anything and would likely never be used to prove criminal activity.

TLDR: Monica's story doesn't match what Ron says or anyone else, Ron's sole source is internet rumor mills like PULL.

Vic and Monica, but not Greg Ayres, who Monica said was next to her when the jellybean incident occurred. I'm not trying to say that you are wrong, only to point out that there is a discrepancy between what she said in her deposition and what was written in the lawsuit.

One thing bugged me about Monica rials testimony. She kept referring to Anime fans as "children", but they really are not. This goes doubly true for the fans who go to conventions.

Not even during a court proceeding could she conceal her utter disgust for fans.

Why would fans support a piece of shit like this who utterly hates them?

Anyone remember offhand what the hearing date was for BHBH's motion to compel? I vaguely recall thinking that it would be this week for some reason.

Good. They fucking deserve it for being worthless scum. I hope Vic sues them and I hope they go out of business.
That's what happens when you give an SJW terrorist what they want. They still stab you in the back. Never apologize to them and never bend over backwards to please them because they will continue to spit on you regardless. So they deserve it, the dumb assholes.

I want to say "vagene" but if that was actually the case, there are better candidates that don't have a seething contempt for their fanbase.

My only conjecture, then, is that they truly don't know and can't differentiate the kind of demeanor Vic has from the kind of demeanor Monica et al. have.

Didn't they say that they literally couldn't break contract with Vic? What are they doing breaking contract with him? Or are they just scrubbing his name so that people that had no business with them can be happy (which would still be really scummy)?

I mean, really, I'm more bummed with the effect that this apparently racist Cluster B has with cons just because she can screech on Twitter than I am hoping the con burns because they don't know what commitment is.

Also, money and what Vic wants out of this. Round 1 are the biggest targets, then it’s Iago and company, and then RT/ANN, and then all the reporters and the Twitter mob. I have no clue how much blood Vic is out floor, or even if he wants to go that far.

Also, didn’t Nick say that it’d cost two million dollars to drop a nuke and salt the earth so nothing grows again?
I will find a way to give him the $2mil myself if it means I don't have to look at another garbage RoosterTeeth original cartoon anymore.

In all seriousness, I don't think they'll bother going for twitter mobs that gained traction. ANN, RT, Elderkin, Saucedo and Sabat are probably up next. Schemmel is likely involved in that too.

I think Denbow's involvement is up in the air right now. All she did was say allegations had at least some tangible merit to them, but didn't seem to advise on any further steps on behalf of the parent company to its subsidiary. Her involvement could really land Funimation in the shit. You don't reach that status in HR if you don't even know to interview both parties. Something is missing there.

If they did, they publicly admitted they knew it would be breaking the law to do it, and then went ahead and broke the law anyway.

If it's a ruse, it's still stupid and they're still idiots.

People are saying that Vic has been dropped from Liberty City Anime Con. He's been entirely removed from their site, including their schedule.
EDIT: Actually, it would probably valuable to have Jen deposed. If they can tie any of her lunacy to Marchi or MoRon or even Funimation, you really have enough ammo to bury all of them seeing as she can't stop going after Vic.
Here's Nick talking about an interesting rumor regarding liberty city con.
Edit:
Wasn't it august 8th?
That should be Funi's TCPA hearing

Didn’t Ron somehow confirm without confirming that he and Monica were a sources from some news stories? I know Carey asked that.
