Imo. Monica must be absolutely desperate. If this case goes the way it should and all their nonsense is completely disproved as well as getting handed their asses in court, she the one who has the most to lose. Ron can disappear and restart his life, he's a nobody with no overly strong connections to the anime community when you really look at the situation. Although his ruination would be financial. Monica? she becomes radioactive in the career she's been in for 20+ years, with very little experience to fall back on in another industry- hairdressing doesn't pay well unless you're very very good.

I’d bet dollars to donuts Ty Beard can get a sworn affidavit from Sentai’s corporate council testifying Sentai has no such policy regarding Vic Mignogna, and they have no known records of any HR investigations of Vic in the ADV archives, by Friday. Because saying this on the record costs them nothing, and keeps them out of this mess. Admitting to either of Monica’s claims open them up to being drawn into the litigation.

Someone I follow liked this on Twitter and showed up in my timeline. I was about to just roll my eyes and keep scrolling, but then I got to the "Supports Vic Micnogna" bullet point, and I was like, bruh. Apparently that makes us all alt-r*ght, unlike the calm, rational, cool headed gay weebs that blindly believe the accusations from a vicious liar and professional victim such as Monica.

He’s got aspirations to do pro dub work, I’m certain I’ve heard him mention it. I’m not saying that’s the only reason he’s dunking on Vic here, but if this whole shitshow is any indication, it’s a lot safer of a career move to virtue signal against him than it is to support him. Given the climate and whose got a stranglehold on the dubbing studios.

As long as you think the right things and get angry at the right strawmen there will be people willing to support you regardless. The only thing that will destroy her is if Funimation can't weasel their way out of the suit and take the hit, because that sets a precedent and all companies will be far more careful in the future. Rial's fake tears were atrocious. Not as bad as Blasey Ford's( and I hope to God I never have to see anything so bad again in all of my life, three year olds put on better performances when they do faux sob fits to guilt adults into giving them treats), but still awful. Even if I hadn't been watching so I could notice the way her non-tears didn't so much as even smudge her heavy eyeliner, and was just listening, I wouldn't have believed her. Her vocal frying came and went far too easily. Her voice never really fully broke, as is likely to happen when fighting back strong distress, and went back to even modulation pretty much as soon as she finished her "I was raped at..." sentence. She was also more forceful, her voice more carrying, when she was repeating the particularly "distressing" parts, which leads me to believe she was trying to force the emotion into her voice, instead of the quiet, clipped way most people speak when they're doing their best to not let fear/sorrow/anger overwhelm them, when they have to speak about something negative that makes the become so emotional.
But I wasn't just listening, and I could see her face, and I was legitimately shocked that she couldn't make herself really cry, because the first thing I thought when I saw how much heavy, dark makeup she was wearing on the thumbnail was that she was going to turn on the waterworks and try and manipulate the lawyers in the room with how pitiful she'd look with her mascara pooling all down her face. But she couldn't even manage a little bit of that.
tl;dr: For a voice actress, she's real shit at sounding like she's fighting back tears, and for a bitch that was chugging water like Soye dreams of chugging down bull jizz, she couldn't even manage to squeeze out one lone indian crying about litter tear as she recollected a story that she supposedly still has nightmares about. She's lying like a hound with a sunshine spot on the front porch.

A witnesses extremely inconsistent, contradictory testimony with zero evidence except for one first hand witness who is denying everything. God dude, get a fucking grip. I’d take a lawyer who laughs mockingly at the defense over one who tries to use sympathy over trauma as a way to mask the fact that her story has more holes in it that Swiss cheese.
It’s not like scrutinizing questionable testimony is part of a lawyer’s fucking job description.
On the other hand, we’ve seen how exceptional these studios are, so I wouldn’t be suprise if she survived somehow.

All she has to do is paint it as "Vic did assault me, but like all abusers he was smart enough to prey on his victims when no one is looking. He used his heinous tactics to his benefit both in his abuse and in the court room where he knew no one could provide real proof" then her circle jerk of exceptionals all come around and give her the ass pats and you're so brave replies and she brands it as another example of Vic assaulting her, but this time abusing the legal system to do so. The people who hate Vic in the industry will back her, and she'll be back in without much effort. The only real way she is fucked for life is if companies realise she's a financial risk and as much as some companies might like to pretend they're tree hugging hippie liberals, they're pure capitalists when it comes to the bottom line.

Now, this first portion would be more than convincing, if they hadn't already stated that all of his "assaults" and "preying on victims" was done in public. In front of fans. Even during panels and in the middle of autograph sessions where all eyes would be on them. It'd be pretty hard to convince a jury that "he yanked on my hair and stuck his tongue all the way into my ear and into the brain stem", when they've already made it clear he was apparently an "open secret in the community."
