A question for the kiwis that know the law and it's procedures more than I do (nearly everyone). Is it normal that Mr Supah Lawyer, Casey Erick, went full objection to form in all the questions in both depositions, or was that a very exceptional sperging on his part?
I don't know how normal it is to constantly be muttering "object to form", I remember quite a bit of objection to form in the parts of the Alex Jones depo videos I saw.

It's hard to blame him though, he's using it as a signal to think about the answer carefully and also to preserve his ability to strike answers prior to trial, though actually striking requires filings and a hearing IIRC, so there's a good chance not much comes of all the objections.

Given his clients, I'm not convinced any of us would have done differently.

Now his improperly leveled objections (sidebar comes to mind) are a different matter entirely.

If you don't object to a question during the deposition, you can't object to bringing the answer up in court. An objection to form is a general objection to the way the question was asked, so they're extremely common in depositions. Objecting to every single question just in case you want to argue about it later could be considered good practice. It could also be considered a sign that a lawyer intends to draw out a case and waste as much time as possible.

T. Greg Doucette says that Ron and Monica have filed their TCPA motion. It's 490 pages. He's working on uploading it for everyone. edit: (or just the exhibits alone are 490 pages)

I am probably about as ignorant, except that I had read the Mark Waid deposition a while back, which was rife with that objection. I think it's pretty standard.

I think it was Viva Frei who made this statement on one of his videos not too long ago. “If your Motion to dismiss is longer than 10-12 pages or so, 20 tops, you have no case and are going to lose it. A 140 page motion to dismiss is seeking to argue the case, not the motion”. I believe he was talking about the WaPo’s downright obscene and incompetent motion to dismiss in the Nick Sandmann Covington Catholic case. But the rule seems sound.

Reposting.

A day ahead of a deadline? This is like a D student swinging for the stars and getting that coveted C-. Good for them, I guess.

And the few people who thought the hilarity would slow down get BTFO.

Ron and Monica filing a TCPA that likely throws Funimation under the bus. Funimation trying to space themselves from their employees. Both directly naming people in their testimonies without consulting who's side they're even on.

Funi probably had a decent chance of getting the whole thing thrown out but they certainly don't anymore. Vic's deposition performance was too good, and Ronica's trampled over the feet of Funi as they tried to find exit routes.

Kick Vic were right about one thing. This is certainly about to be a Lolsuit. Not sure if it's the way they envisioned though!

anyone think it's weird that this hasn't been covered by any major news organizations?
Not really. Anime really isn’t big enough for people to care about it, let alone respect it. Even with Spirited Away.

that seems to be the case now that NICK and ONLY NICK teased this affidavit. How would Nick have such a thing when it isn't filed? Correct. The one that is GOING to file it gave it to him.
Didn’t Nick say that he has sources and it’ll hurt Monica when she learns who it is? And wasn’t it rumored that Nick was going to be deposed because in part the defendants wanted him to reveal his sources?

Wasn’t TCPA always the plan?

490 pages?

I've read novels shorter than that.

If Casey and Lemoine aren't getting paid, they probably just printed out the Threadnaught to save money on formulating the legal arguments.

Vic may be able to crowdsource the legal costs, but MoRonica can crowdsource the legal opinions! Checkmate, stans!

We seem to have reached the inevitability of all SJW endeavors: everybody eats their own.

Could be worse: it could be Jamie Marchi and Monica Rial making out while spitroasting Ron Soye with a pringle can wide strap-on.
Please don’t make me think that. When it comes to sex and Japan, I would like to think that there are standards.
