Nick's newest tweet attracted another clout chasing legal "Never Blumpfer". All those low test lawyer flies being attracted by Monica's verbal mudpies. I bet most of law twitter still haven't moved on from that fateful November in 2016.

"he said he doesn't remember her saying anything"

No, he said there wasn't even any such incident and she didn't say anything.

They are reading bullet point 5 as saying he does not remember, when he said he has no memory of it. In bullet point 6, he said if it did happen, he would have remembered it. So it is selective reading from lawtwits again.

In 7, he said he would not have invited them back to the same convention if he was informed of this. So yeah they are really reaching further than marzgurls arms.

I mean we all sort of already knew that they were going to cherry pick and selectively misinterpret things unless Stan comes out and makes a tweet along the lines of "No, you speds. Nothing happened and if it did, then I would've remembered and wouldn't have invited them to the same fucking place together if it did. Stop reading my affidavit wrong, you mongos."

Okay, fair, I'm interpreting "I have no memory of the incident" as "the incident didn't occur". You could weasel out a "well it's just that he doesn't remember", so the operative matter is that on top of not recalling such an incident, he was never informed about such an incident. Now Rial has to demonstrate that she did inform him if she doesn't want her pants catching on fire instantaneously.

Patent infringement, huh? What’s the story?

Patent troll regarding some component of streaming. I believe this troll firm is claiming patent on the ability to pause video playback and resume watching on another. For whatever reason Eastern District of Texas has become the breeding ground for patent trolls.

We largely have been donating. What’s this dude’s problem? He isn’tseeing Any KyoAni donations from “Toye’s Soy Filled Withered Ballz”?

Another group that's really flown under the radar are the people over at RT. The email between Vic and someone reasonably high up at RT where that person said they thought all of the allegations were bunk and would blow over, as well as the misdelivered email some weeks later saying that no one should talk to Vic really suggest some gayops behind the scenes there as well.

Hopefully as more and more information starts to come out and the case against Vic plainly becomes the complete and utter fabrication it is, people at these other companies and organizations start to step out of the shadows and speak up as well.

Actually I was curious about how a judgement against Monica would interact with RT's stuff.

If Monica is discredited, or recants, would that undermine their course of action?

RT worded their statement so they could argue "Sorry you thought that was the cause, but it wasn't." But if they have contracts similar to Funimation they may also screwed themselves over.

And since Matt Hullum (CEO of RT) was talking to Monica, that probably means most of the chain of management was involved or aware.

I think the funniest part about Stan is he has non stop been trashing Monica and the other kickvic FUNi VAs all day.
He even went as far as to point out how he knew Greg hated Vic for a long long time, so greg being named is super sus since he is bias against vic already

Not only that, Greg Ayers is a notorious liar in the anime industry. He's on record stating the reason the anime Ghost Stories has a gag dub is because it was a huge flop in Japan and the Japanese licencors begged ADV to do whatever they could to make it sell in America.

Except that's not true. At all. Ghost Stories got some of the highest TV ratings in Japan, beating out giants like One Piece, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Digimon Adventure at the time. It was re-released on home video multiple times, and has had numerous re-airings in Japan over the years (a rarity). Does that sound like a colossal failure to you? Plus, if you know anything about anime production, no Japanese company begs or relies on the American market to save them. Especially not in the early 2000s when simulcasting and streaming wasn't even a thing where you could at least make the argument for it nowadays. Even today, Japan cares more about the Chinese and Korean markets far more than they do the American one.

What actually happened is anyone's guess. Maybe the Japanese side demanded ADV license the show as part of a package deal and sell it in America since it did so well in Japan, and ADV knew it'd be hard to sell a show about Japanese folklore and yokai nobody knew about so they improvised. But what we do know is Greg Ayers is a lying sack of shit who loves to puff himself him and take credit for things he shouldn't.

Oh, and I feel I should mention both Monica Rial and Vic Mignogna both did voices in the dub.

Like KyoAni needs more money. FFS before I even checked Kiwi I noticed they've already exceeded their GFM goal (I noticed thanks to a channel on that one streaming site). If that faggot wants to virtue signal maybe he should choose a different GFM. Like, I dunno, maybe one that donates to charity instead of an animu studio.

To be fair, I've heard the "Japan didn't care" story from other VAs.

Also Vic wasn't in that show.

There was only Obie Frostips.

Even at its current numbers its only like $50k per family of each person that died. Assuming no money even goes towards all of the property damage / time lost on destroyed art and data. They also probably lost a few really notable directors that lead them to their success. Assuming any of those people had kids/family relying on their income + funeral costs, that money may as well say $0.

I've also heard the "It was so bad in Japan that they stopped giving a shit" story as well.

From my knowledge, Ghost Stories was actually a failure in japan and wasn't very popular. It did okay with the market and when they gave the show to be dubbed, they told the studio that would be doing the dubbing that the show was a flop in japan and that they gave them free reign to change the script however they wanted to as long as they didn't change the character's names or the actual story itself. At first the VAs did their voice lines normally. But then some of them started pushing how far they could go and then a few episodes later they just stopped caring and improv'd almost everything.

I watched the dub and if I also remember correctly, Monica voiced the lavender haired girl who was supposed to be a "born again christian" who talked about hating "the jews and the homos". Now that I think about it...it sounds like she was using this character to mock Vic the whole time. That's probably me reading too hard into it though.

EDIT: The lavender haired girl was supposed to be a psychic in the original and Monica turned her into a born again Christian. The big lipped nerd was just a normal cowardly nerd in the original but his english VA turned him into a Jew. The little brother was made into a special needs child. Everyone else was more or less left the same except like the main heroine would mock her little brother for being a retard or something.

I just learned that The leader of Amestris ( The fictional country in Fullmetal Alchemist ) is referred to as "The fuhrer". It's my guess that Vic's fanclub referred to him by that name in reference to the anime..

I could definitely believe the package deal theory. You have to remember, Toei thought there was nothing wrong with the 4kids one piece dub as long as 4kids money was good. Honestly, until the early 2010s, the american market wasn't even a concern for studios, and saw licensing their shows to dub studios as a risk free way for paying for half an episode. Likely, there were negligible restrictions on what funimation could change regarding the show (iirc they couldn't change the names of spirits or the moral at the end of the episode, anything else was fair game) and funi pretty much wrote the show off as DoA for american audiences, so letting the cast just improv jokes without any real scriptwriting cut costs.
