Nick's newest tweet attracted another clout chasing legal "Never Blumpfer". All those low test lawyer flies being attracted by Monica's verbal mudpies. I bet most of law twitter still haven't moved on from that fateful November in 2016.

This r.etard thinks that Stan wasn't being perceptive about Monica being distressed, despite her in her own words saying that Stan asked if she was okay after he knocked on the door.

It shows how much of a fucking void that Monica etc must live in, where you cease to exist if you don't have a continuous stream-of-consciousness twitter account or Instagram.

Like, you think you'd check if your "witness" actually agrees with your story before you launch it and flail about like a spastic in a magnet factory.

I bet Moronica did all of ten seconds googling him, couldn't find much social media, and just went "They'll never find him! Perfect!"

Not even that. I found Stan Dahlin on Twitter. I just searched his name and tweeted him the portion of the document that he was mentioned in. It peaked my curiosity since he was mentioned in Rial's response. He didn't have any other public means of contact because he left the convention scene about four years ago. He even tweeted at Rial at one point.

And Rial nor La Choy nor Funimation (if they got wind of the story) realized this.

Okay I'm trying to keep an open mind about Huber, but why in fuck would he think that statement was in any way favorable to Vic? And cancelling Anime Matsuri and all other appearances?

It's also hilarious that the defense is saying if Vic thinks someone is truthful it must mean they are, since it turns out he's been being lied to for decades by people he trusted.

I think Chuck underestimated the hate boner the Funimation clique had for Vic.

And while his remedy was definitely questionable, he genuinely seemed to be trying to mend some bridges.

In an attempt to end litigation before it started, Chuck Huber proposed that Funimation donate $500,000 to RAINN as part of the agreement between all the parties. He should stick to voice acting because he is bad at mediation.

To be fair, we know they're fucking idiotically incompetent and are basically using their many lawyers as puppets to further try and defame Vic, as if he has any further to fall now they've tried to ruin him and he chose to fight back. I honestly can't think of anything more stupid than texting your lawyer to ask irrelevant fishing expedition questions.

It makes one wonder, with the amount of mental gymnastics and double think the cabal and their shitty klingons do if there isn't some sort of legitimate mass of mental illness out there that's going to be impossible to cure.

He and the other people saying that same shit need to fuck off. He doesn't get to say where I donate my money, or decide if I have reason or not to spend it where I please.

Just sent my first GFM donation to VKB but these "people" have no right to tell me what I should give my money to. I would much rather help change the American anime culture as I believe that will have a much more beneficial impact

In general his instinct to try and get this settled was correct but he definitely committed to that goal ultimately to the detriment of helping Vic, being as his email is being cited as evidence the wrong side.

It sounds a lot like Chuck had gotten the distinct impression from someone (gee, I wonder who) that if Vic did not admit sexual wrongdoing in some way it was no deal.

At this point he should have realized negotiation was pointless, but I'll stick to Hanlon's Razor until evidence to the contrary surfaces as this is not an uncommon reaction by normal people not yet steeled to this brave new internet people paradigm.

His requirements of all parties seem kinda crazy but I can't fault someone who is friends with all parties trying to mediate. Worse case is one or more parties say no and that's the end of it. He seems like he meant well just was in over his head and did t know all the details.

Murrican animu culture does need a change. In what way I have no idea. Although if we're talking Murrican dub studio culture, getting rid of partisan leftists might help. I mean I'm a progressive, but dubbing studio's seem infested with fucking intersectional feminist blah blah blah types.

Crossposting from the lawsuit thread: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/victor-mignogna-v-funimation-productions-llc-et-al.55556/post-5029293

Monica and Ron have filed their TCPA, and holy shit it's terrible. Give it a look yourself, but a couple things of note are:
  • Page 1 includes a picture of a girl who has publicly stated that she had no problem with Vic kissing her on the cheek, and a transcript of Vic's deposition that cuts 90% of Vic's answer to the question to make him look worse
  • Nick is referred to repeatedly as a "shock jock" who is "allegedly a lawyer and a journalist" and the leader of a vicious harassment campaign against those hostile to Vic
  • "For reasons unknown, members of the Risembool Rangers refer to Vic as "The Fuhrer" including his mother"
  • Calling Vic a manslut so obviously he must also be a rapist
  • Citing the ANN article despite both Monica and Ron stating on record that they don't recall ever reading it
EDIT: Split second cougaring

Generally yeah, a TCPA/Anti-SLAPP motion is basically supposed to just say "this is free/protected speech, fuck off with this lawsuit" and then it shifts to the plaintiff to provide evidence that the suit is not a waste of time. This is baffling, and I'm waiting with bated breath to see what they decide to put in as evidence.

This is an insane filing. It's a love letter to the the Twitter Lolyers and the #KickVic crowd. It's not directed at the judge. At best, this 490 page Frankenstein will only irritate the fuck out of the judge. I know judges who would sanction this kind of crap. It doesn't mean that Vic wins against their TCPA; it's not hard to show that the TCPA applies and then Vic has the burden of raising a prima facie case for each element of each of the challenged claims.

Arguably, they can point to all of this crap as support for their "Vic is a public figure" affirmative defense. It's not really going to be helpful for a truth as an affirmative defense. First, the evidence would have to be admissible. But Vic already has the burden of raising a prima facie case that the alleged defamatory statements are false. If he meets this burden, it doesn't matter if they can cite evidence that their statements are arguably true. The judge isn't going to weigh the evidence and point to one side and declare a winner. No, he's just going to say, "go to the jury."

There is a caveat in that if the evidence the defendants are relying on comes from Vic himself (some sort of admission), the judge could rule on the issue as a matter of law and decide there is no factual dispute. I don't think that's going to come into play for Monica and Ron.

This filing is so offensive and I haven't even read the entire thing. If I was the judge, I'd want the attorney's head. I'd want his balls. I'd want him to feel an ounce of the pain he's causing me by forcing me to wade through 490 pages of inadmissible crap and then I'd want him to choke on all 490 pages. But you know, that's just me.
