The handlers might not be lying. The problem here is that we’ve not heard once from Iijima about harassment/stalking allegations pertaining to Vic; we’ve just heard about people reporting it, and it’s weird considering that Iijima went to events with Vic since then with no subsequent problems after that convention. Her contact information is available, and no affidavit has been obtained from her, despite her living in the United States. It might as well been someone who assumed that Iijima was being harassed and reported it. Much like MarzGurl misrepresenting Vic’s commentary to some of his fans.

Hopefully Ty could get on that.

Wouldn't it be funny if one of the affidavits Nick teased was actually one from Iijima saying she had no issues with Vic. :story:

Alright, I've read through all 529 pages of Ron and Monica's TCPA, along with Jamie's motion (minus the exhibits.)

While IANAL and certainly not an expert in Texas Anti-SLAAP, my guess is Ron and Monica's document is a trojan horse. Here's why.

Ron and Monica's TCPA doesn't read like a legal document. It reads like opposition research, the kind one would prepare as part of a political campaign. The motion itself spells out talking points more than an argument, the exhibits are stories that are mostly free from facts. What struck me about each affidavits is how clearly a grudge / motive to lie could be discerned. A professional would have ensured the stories are related in a way that's more matter-of-fact, dispassionate, and expresses a common theme carrying over between each of the complaints. Each complaint would have been compressed into something that directly conveys its point, deflects questions about intent, and makes makes clear accusations of sexual assault that at least come close to the legal definition.

The thing is, the affidavits only attack Vic's character. They don't present evidence of sexual assault. They do create the impression "where there's smoke, there's fire," since enough people are complaining this dramatically the underlying accusations must be true.

I think they are hoping a judge will tear their motion to shreds so they can claim the justice system is rigged to only protect straight white males. They want to turn this into a cause, fundraise around it, and get on the same ground Vic - fighting a legal battle funded by people who agree with them. They're hoping a sympathetic high net-worth supporter will come along, be outraged over the situation, then decide their (supposedly) just cause deserves support.

Saying this because lawyers generally won't submit documents this dumb to the court. The arguments it makes are political, not legal, and lean heavily on the idea of non-quantifiable power imbalances between Vic and others in the industry. The kind of person who would be sympathetic to this kind of argument would likely have run into a few glass ceilings in their own career and is willing to put perceived patterns above fact when considering the question of truth. That person is also a little skeptical and needs to see the system actually failing before they act, they're probably familiar with some similar situations that turned out to be deficient.

Ron and Monica are not capable of playing 4D chess and I suspect (at a personal level) they would drive away anyone interested in helping their cause. There is a lot about them not to like, starting with the fact they lack self-control. But, sometimes, people come along who are interested in fighting on principle. This document reads like a lightning rod designed to attract their attention, and Jamie's seems to be designed to express the idea there are still adults in the room.

I'd like to someday know who contributed to writing these documents. The general structure of Ron and Monica's does not appear to come from an attorney.

That paragraph in the tao article that got retracted says it all. The case will go for another year. They know their tcpa will fail. This is a hail mary posturing to flex at vic in hopes he will back down. Its just like an animal making themselves look bigger to avoid a fight. But I genuinely believe that each party that has their tcpa fail will begin settlement talks.

And, if I were Vic, Id cut the first one to settle a very cheap settlement so long as it includes a public statement that they knew the allegations were ficticious as part of the settlement, so it can be used as evidence against the other parties.

I think they're just trying to slag Vic to keep him from getting con appearances and VA jobs. The only party that would try to settle after a TCPA failure would be funimation. Monica and Jamie can't settle without giving up other people and apologize for lying about Vic. They'll be finished in the VA community.

Im pretty sure they're already finished. Funi dumps them after the suit. They cant now without it looking like an admission of guilt. But what company who sees this clusterfuck of a lawsuit wants to bring them in after this, knowing they caused all this bullshit for other companies.

I almost agree. That would seem like the most practical outcome.

But Ron and Monica don't have a way to walk this back. In a way, a settlement with a public statement is worse than bankruptcy, they lose the perceived integrity that comes along with being a victim. If they lose all their assets they still get to say it's Vic's fault. If they admit to being liars, they still end up bankrupt because no one trusts them ever again - it just gets delayed a few more years.

So they backed themselves into a corner. Jamie's in the same boat, hard to see her voluntarily admitting to what she's done. Funimation maybe.

Given the content of the motions, their compulsive behavior, and the attention they are getting on Twitter, there's a lot to suggest they are angling for financial support.

There's also the DM where she admits to having no evidence and hopes that a child was raped to cover for her.
Really? I missed that one.

Of the Funi Simuldubs I've been watching this season (Dr. Stone, How Heavy Are The Dumbbells That You Lift, The Ones Within, Yu-No, Fire Force) I don't think I've heard Monica or Jamie in any of them. Doesn't mean much, considering VA will have dry seasons, and they're only a few episodes in, but it makes you think.

When people accused Projared of sending dick pics to any breathing being with tits it took a few hours at most for these pictures and conversations to come out.

In this case, Michelle accuses Vic of not only sending dick pics but making explicit videos, having phone calls, sending text messages, and more. It's been five fucking months since this shitstorm started and not a single one of these alleged photos, videos, text messages, etc. has surfaced. That's just not how the internet works, Michelle. If someone has that sort of sensitive info on another person and said person gets extremely publicly put on blast, you bet your ass they're gonna be a vindictive little shit and leak it.

But again, we have not seen hide nor hair of any Vic porn (thank fuck). To me, that simple fact throws some massive doubt on all of the other shit Michelle flung at Vic in that email.

This is true and that did surprise me. You're totally right.

There is no way they are getting financial support. Vic is accused of what is basically pedophilia and rape and his fans got him a quarter mil. There are very few people who are going to give cash to this dumpster fire they started because ron just publicly cemented that they are snydley whiplash calibur villains and their main supporters are liars who have been discredited.

That, and according to Michelle apparently Vic had sex with practically hundreds of underaged fangirls, yet like I said, out of his hundreds of accusations, nobody has went "I had sex with Vic" it's all "he touched me and I didn't like it" but nothing as far as actual sex from what I've seen
If Vic was having sex daily with fangirls as Michelle is trying to say, you would think ONE would have came out by now

Wasn't a shitposts but that's fine. I'll just keep my feelings to myself
protip: If this shit is getting to you you are spending too much time delving into it. I regularly just take a day or at least half a day off from this topic because i don't want to feel like just shit over this any more than i already do because of these scummy people destroying lives willy-nilly

Monica only has like 6 credits for 2019. And some of those were likely recorded last year.

Granted I dont know what is a normal dubber production but the year is half over and it appears shes working much less than the last couple years.
