Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

So correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the fact that the TCPA’s are heavy on witness testimony make it more likely that they’ll be dismissed? Even if most of them are second and third hand accounts that may already be demonstrably false with the current evidence, the fact that Vic and his team will contest them as matters of fact makes it more evident that this needs to go to trial, not less.

A'yup! MoRonica's TCPA seems insane. It is packed with tons of stuff that is under contention and would need determination at trial, it is jam packed with clearly inadmissible evidence. And it has literally nothing in support of challenging the Plaintiff's causes of action, save a blanket unsupported statement that Vic is a Public figure. Which is once again something that would need arguing at trial.

Vic has a very compelling counter argument that he has been libeled and defamed as a pedophile directly to employers, business partners and potential employers, not simply openly in public, but direct non public lobbying by the defendants towards his business interests. He has lost his jobs his career and is a pariah based on this. If this behavior is somehow shielded under the TCPA than there no longer are any Defamation or Libel laws in Texas.

Not to mention the fact that he can now demonstrate that the defendants are willing to lie to the court to continue their defamation and destruction of his career, or at least recklessly include information from unreliable sources.

Christ, this thing is a train wreck.

It all seems like a calculated attempt to bully and intimidate him into stopping his attempts to clear his name. If only there was some legal remedy for someone in his position, trying to participate civilly in the public. Perhaps some sort of act.

Ty is showing a shitton of restraint not counter filing his own TCPA, but we’ll see if his patience lasts I guess.

I trust Ty knows what he's doing. If I had to guess though I'd say he's waiting for enough stuff for a coup-de-grace instead of the death by a 1000 cuts approach. Just give it a swift finish and be done with it so he can start round 2. Hell maybe there'll even be a bonus round if things keep up like this.

I think he willeffectively do that, while not technically doing that. I’m certain at least part of his response to MoRonica’s TCPA will be a Motion to strike it in its entirely. It’s. Not showing cause or basis for TCPA, instead it is attempting to argue the case. It’s a mess. Large swaths of it read like pornographic fan fiction (because large swaths are pornographic fan fiction.)

Faisal was one of there witnesses, and the perfectly matching names keep rolling in. Fail

I think he will effectively do that, while not technically doing that.

How about this: Nick could file a motion for leave in order to submit an amicus curiae brief, calling out all the defendant's bullshit.
After all, Lemoine demanded that Nick should be heard as an expert witness....

There are no sides here, just the farms and stupid people to laugh at
Again it is way funnier to see one of the side being exceptional chimps, but then again the other side is quite hilarious with their repeated demonstration of solid grasp of technology.
On another hand I would love the mutually assured destruction of the anime dubbing biz in the US, so that millions of weebs would be forced to learn that torture of a language that is Japanese, plus the usual dubbing is atrocious anyway.

I'm actually surprised the only "big" business releasing subbed content quickly is Crunchyroll. There's a big market just for subbed weebshit but getting access to movies and shows from around the world quickly would be pretty neat.

The tags offered on the mugshot are legitimately horrifying.

I don't remember which thread it was on but it was mentioned earlier and I just love how of all people to get an affa from, it's one that was charged for a false report of a crime.

You just can't make shit like this up.

One company dies another just rises, 4kids went bankrupt and the Japanese didn’t pursue any further legal action after the initial stay. When the 4kids assets were absorbed into Konami 4K they said “good enough for us” and then Pokémon went directly to the Pokémon company dubbing and yugioh stayed at Konami until crunchyroll.

Funimation goes we’re just gonna get another shit company that comes along.

Every major dubbing company has foreign owners who just happen to have an operation within the US.

It's hard to find an honest person willing to commit perjury to support two pathological liars like Monica Rial and Ron Toye.

There's not enough adderall in the world to get me to comb through MoRonica's dumpster file of a TCPA again, but from what I've noticed there's a pretty big missing gap of documentation that predates January 2019. It's all looking like affidavits of people who've come out afterwards who are saying that things they didn't like happened much prior. Where's the emails from conventions? Where's the formal complaints filed? Police reports? Hell, I'd take contemporaneous chat messages or facebook posts. But they've got essentially nothing that was put down on paper before they decided that they wanted to kick Vic.

I mean, if I witness a horrible act performed by a noted personality and am thwarted from stopping their actions due to their power and influence, the one thing I would never do is bitch about it to my friends. And I definitely wouldn't use text messages or Facebook to communicate with them about it. That would be weird.
