I just don't get why they thought really tanky tanks would be fun in a FPS. How did this go through a development cycle

The same reason a flail-wielding wannabe squire girl got in an FPS.

I can't relate to this, typically I dunk on tanks and melee characters in general (Shitrat main LUL!). Its the snipers that usually end up killing me.

Snipers have a harder time killing your 200 HP health pool when you can hide behind Reinhardt's shield (which has 2000 HP and can not be headshot). Widowmaker (the sniper) would have to hit Rein's shield 17 times with a fully charged sniper shot to break it which would take her half a minute to do by herself.

Right, although it usually isn't so extreme. The problem turned into the fact that because DPS classes (more than 50% of the entire roster) weren't rewarding to play, most people moved away from them entirely. Instead of fixing the issue, they're just forcing 2 people to be DPS and hoping for the best.

It's not a MOBA thing like "Dragon Knight isn't as good as Sven in late game because of <item> or <meta balance>", it's a raw balance thing like "if you pick any DPS you're a moron and are going to lose the game for your whole team" and an unfun thing like "If you play Reinhardt I hope you like holding down a mouse button for 2/3rds of a match".

I made the mistake of looking at the Twitter comments expecting a bunch of jokes about Mega Man X's Sigma (come on, they even look similar) but nope. First comment was "WAI U NOT WOOMAN" and every other comment was "muh evil white males."

Once again, you can't pander to the woke crowd because for them, it will never be enough.

I mean feed stray animals they will keep coming back because they see you as a source for food. The difference here is that I'd at least feel sorry for a poor cat or dog that stumbles into my yard with these types of people once you try to appease them they won't even appreciate your hospitality. They made the face of Overwatch gay and a character that didn't have much of a backstory gay for literally no reason as Soldier's whole character is supposed to be jaded soldier man. They constantly love teasing this side of the fandom with ships and stuff so no wonder they want the carrot when you dangle it in their faces.

Besides the rant yeah he really does look like look like Sigma and it's good we finally get some interesting character design. Baptiste looked so boring to me and to be honest the last interesting new character designs to me personally were Ana and Sombra.

And for some reason people want to throw a fit because they don't have a black woman. But that goes back to what we were saying earlier and I'm once again reminded of that story about that mouse and a cookie we read as a kid. They've given these people everything regardless of it they even wanted it so much so that the official forums (If you want to like a game you never go on the official forums that's my rule of thumb) got its own LGBT thread to condense all this spam from people wandering about what these fictional characters like to fuck. The biggest problem here from what I've seen is that Blizzard tried to hard to cave into what people wanted and didn't understand doing this creates contention because it will always seem like you're making decisions not because you think they're the correct decisions but whatever will keep the bottom line happy.
