Not to try to derail too much more from the topic, but to go back to TUG's doxx. I mean the truly ironic thing about this is that he himself had said that he would be willing to doxx himself by filing a police report against people calling CPS or the police on him which pretty much is going to be what happens anyway. As far as I'm concerned, he could have won far more sympathy by being honest by saying : Hey there guys. I've got some good news, but some bad news. The bad news is my doxx will be coming out very shortly. The good news is, It'll be on a police report requesting some kind of Cease and Desist order for a certain blue haired orca friend. Instead, he opted to win pity points.

I see it like this, partly because my experience with these types goes back to the 90s so I've had a lot of time to think and witness the devolution of their idiocy.

Tug is basically a normal guy with a family. He's a GenXer that didn't grasp what he was dealing with when he first began his comics commentary. Being basically a guy on the edge of full blown normie, he just did his thing, built his audience, gained some rep in comics circles and one thing (comicsgate) led to another (Weeb Wars).

The very same people that are at the root of comicsgate are among KickVic's shock troops. And when they see a handful of people wrecking their 'current year' work, they are gonna (and did) make an example of him to others.

Now remember, TUG was never a culture warrior/long term deep cover ninja with psych and poli sci/history degrees, grissled and world worn from trench warfare with the hard left. He came into this, by his own admission, barely political at all with no clue what he was in for.

So is it really that much a surprise that such a person isn't the 007/Neo of ISWV/comicsgate? Not in my view. He's like 90% of normal people that have to learn through hard fought experience. And THEN you throw threats against family into it at a time his wife is about to give birth.

To tell you the truth, I'm surprised a little freakout is all he did. I'd say he's handled it overall pretty well, missteps included.

It seemed totally out of place and unnecessary to add that shit, so you're probably honing in on something there.

As harsh as this sounds, TUG knew what he was getting himself into here. Guy knew the game here. You do not go around poking bee nests expecting to not eventually get stung.

Edit: Nick did things knowing his dox will eventually be dropped. You need to talk to him on steps to take to minimize any potential problems going forward such as swatting and whatnot.

No doubt that was her intent and if she said that in a vacuum/on twitter, she'd get mileage out of it. However, she said it in a court doc that also includes all sorts of obvious bullshit and contradiction...and to an audience that is largely concerned with the truth, not soap opera theatrics. So I don't think the end result of that move is gonna play out as she hoped.

IMO, all of this is at minimum, rewriting a lot of worldviews in those paying attention. The metoo angle is rapidly crashing and burning in a 'boy who cried wolf' sort of way. What I'm really intrested to see as this continues, is weather or not actual assault and rape victims are going to start their own pushback in a more organized way than random posts and statements. At the very least there is a snowball scenario developing.

It's just a tool, like any tool it can be used for bad, or for good. If used for the good, then it is good. If used for the bad, then it is bad.

It's no different than Nick's explanation from last night's stream about why he won't censor himself just because someone finds a particular joke tasteless. As soon as you agree not to joke about one thing, everyone else will ask the same and you'll have to ask yourself where to draw the line, and regardless of where you do, someone will always be unhappy.

Why should you or anyone else get to be the moral arbiter of who it's acceptable to dox? Doxing is independent of what's done with it after the fact. A gun is neither good or evil. It's an inanimate object. It's the people who use it who are good or evil. At no point does the gun itself become good or evil. It will never take any action of its own volition in either way.

If people don't like that they or their friends might be doxed, it's incumbent upon them to secure and manage their personal information. Maybe they should give 13 year old kids a field trip to the farms just to show them what kinds of things they shouldn't post online and how easy it is for what you assumed to be anonymous to get tied to your real person quite easily.

Outside a handfull of people, how many of the fed up/pissed off people will avoid going to see the latest Marvel or whatever blockbuster that stars the very people pushing Metoo or whatever SJW bullshit? How many will stop buying Nike sneakers or canceling their Netflix acct?

Practically ZERO. So the very targets of the agenda are responsible for financing their own demise. Look at Weeb Wars. How many people that are actively ISWV are still patronizing their products? And thats people close to the source. Now imagine how many fewer normies will deny themselves an iota of anything to stop cutting their own throats. It's the same thing in politics.
