Do we know any more about this? I'm neither Canadian nor a lawyer, but I'm finding it hard to believe that Ivanhoe Cambridge would have any liability for the actions of their tenants in respect of the human rights laws. There must be more to this, surely?

A company that owns at least one mall, though, could afford a decent lawyer to represent them at the tribunal; if they thought the law was being ignored or misapplied, they could afford to seek judicial review of the tribunal's decisions in the Supreme Court.

However, it looks like Ivanhoe Cambridge didn't even contest it, and settled - hence why I think there is more we don't know.
