Funimation only controls the localization process as I have stated several times at this point. TFS people sneak through because Bandai, the people with actual rights to the video games, do not give a shit.

Bandai Namco also censors the localization of some games like a recent One Piece game by removing the hot springs content. They also fellate LGBT stuff like SonicFox on Twitter alot so it's pretty clear where they lean politcally.

I find it surprising in a nice way that people actually care about Vic being Broly. Broly barely had any lines in the 4 movies he's been in. Nothing really important. Personally I wanted Vic back as well but I hate when they change voices and was glad someone who was a legacy VA getting brought back. Glad they didn't bring Disturbed back though.

As for Broly (DBZ autism ahead): He is hands down the coolest saiyan. Goku going SS was built up by Vegeta as a prophecy; a super saiyan is born every 1000 years. Supposedly Goku was the legend. It's actually Broly, who is, so you see what the "real" SS is supposed to be when he takes on Goku and Vegeta.

He's essentially the best lore and a show of how badass the saiyans are supposed to be.

Vic is on record talking about the insane amount of effort he puts into voicing Broly. Broly has hardly had lines in the movies that he's been in, presumably before the most recent one, but that's only because most of the time, Broly is screaming constantly. Which means that Vic is screaming constantly. Which means shredding his vocal cords. I recall a time he spoke of his agent dreading alerting him that he was going to do more Broly work for another DBZ OVA back in the day.

But he never quit doing it, and we already know by now that VA pay is abominable. Because Vic enjoys the work he does, and he considers it an honor. I figure the reason people care about Vic being Broly is because Vic manifestly cares about being Broly.

I'm gonna put TUG's duck taped mailbox being smashed right next to Laura Loomer's old tires being slashed.

Monetary gain is not the only factor as to whether a work is fair use. If TFS tried to argue that they are making videos for educational non-profit purposes, they could use that, if that were actually possible. TFS has a patreon for their work and sell merchandise several of which uses Toei's characters.

Toei is notch below Nintendo when it comes to protecting their copyright. Your entire tangent accusing Japanese video game companies about things perpetrated by video game companies all over the world tells me that you are fairly lost.

The Nappa abridged voice has been blatantly used in video games and that's cause, as I already explained before, Toei has no involvement with the video games. In particular the dubbing process, which is done by Sabat's studio.

Toei is the original rights holder to the DBZ anime, not Funimation. They can strike down TFS videos all day cause they are using their footage. Funimation licensing DBZ doesn't magically make the footage theirs. Were Funimation not to have any fear of Toei then they would have kept the Cell Games segment during Buu Kai.

I get the feeling you are larping as someone who thinks they know how laws actually work. The footage is not "heavily" edited. Your AMV example is perfect, as its also something that does not pass the fair use test. DBZA does not change the material into something unrecognizable. The "heart" of the original work is not changed enough to make an original work. Intention also is not a valid argument. Even if they never intended to compete with an original work, if the original rights holders fear that the market could be confused or have a competing product then the court might rule in their favor.

George Lucas is dumb. But Mel Brooks and Weird Al aren't. This is why both have asked permissions for their "parodies." In case you didn't know, most of Weird Al's songs aren't parodies as recognized by a court of law. Changing lyrics to a song to be about food does not pass the smell test. Basically "Eat it" or "Yoda" doesn't work but "Smells like Nirvana" would since the latter actively critiques specific aspects about the original song. Weird Al's videos would be easier to defend since they specifically mock aspects and techniques used in the original music videos.

I'd also like to know where you read that George Lucas sued Weird Al.

Toei passively takes down DBZA's videos. Meaning it's usually a bot or some other tool that takes them down. There's no Japanese guy subscribed to TFS waiting for an Abridged episode. Since Funimation is recognized by Youtube as a rights holder, they can help out TFS. But if the many false DMCAS filed out aren't enough an indication, let me spell it out for you. Youtube is not a court of law. Just cause Funimation can protect them on YT means jack shit.

Funimation only controls the localization process as I have stated several times at this point. TFS people sneak through because Bandai, the people with actual rights to the video games, do not give a shit.

You're simply incorrect on a lot of this.

TFS has a patreon for them, but it is explicitly not for DBZA at all. It's for their other work, including their original content. You can argue all you want about how they wouldn't get any patrons if they hadn't first made DBZA but that's irrelevant. They're not making money off of DBZA. As for their marketplace, they use images that look similar to Toei's characters, but don't ever cross the line to certain trademarked or copyrighted content. They have a specialist they consult to make sure it never does. Again, that's just fair use.

Nappa's voice used in Xenoverse isn't relevant, because as has been established that isn't within Toei's purview. It's a Bandai thing, which evidently Funimation has a lot more control of, given that not only were they able to let Takahata and Kaiser (and I think Lanipator) make voices for the two games, they were also able to let TFS write the script for that custom voice. As established, Toei would have a seizure if Funimation ever attempted that with the anime itself.

And once again, you're wrong. If Toei could remove DBZA it absolutely would. It can't, because whatever contract they have evidently allows Funimation to control whether or not DBZA is allowed. This has been stated and demonstrated multiple times by TFS. Funimation, not Youtube, is the one who retracts every one of Toei's claims. Toei does not like DBZA and would absolutely strike it down. It can't, because Funimation says no. If that's irregular, then it's irregular. Evidently the contract stipulations allow this, and Toei isn't inclined to fight with Funimation to change it.

The combination of your Weird Al and AMV statements make it clear you're conflating visual aspects with audio ones. An AMV does pass the fair use requirements of the visual content. It just isn't fair use of the song that's included. Weird Al generally only asks permission for the audio part of his song (if he does at all. He's discussed that he often has gotten sued by the original copyright holders for his songs and doesn't care, because it always ends with his songs still out there) but the visual part he generally doesn't need to. Thus, he asked permission from Michael Jackson for Eat It (who was so approving of it he pointed Al to the place he filmed Beat It), but he didn't ask Lucas for permission for The Saga Begins.

You have a solid theory about Toei, but it's controverted by the statements issued by TFS in the past. While their videos often get removed by Toei bots, that's not always the case, and they've gotten legal threats from Toei before in the past. They just ignore them because Funimation has their back. You can complain all you like about how that's not how the law works, I don't care. That is how it works with TFS and Funimation vs Toei. It has been established as so for years. Maybe the reason for this is some kind of tradition Toei follows. Maybe the reason is because of special wording in their contracts. Maybe Sabat has the daughter of Toei's CEO kidnapped in a dungeon as leverage. The reason why isn't relevant. The end result still means that when it comes to DBZA, Funimation gets the final say, not Toei.

This fucking guy seems to be on every tweet of Nick's. I'd ask if he was having a stroke because that's a lot of nonsense.
It's the same case with that Invented_Games fellow. As Nick has said, he lives rent-free in their heads.

Hell, I bet they even follow him just to sperg out at any and all of his tweets.

Allison will absolutely cave like a wet noodle. We've had her pegged since this started. She was a full of crap fujoshi who was happy to spread rumors to her friends in person and over twitter (she can't tell the difference between the two btw).

She is the definition of a patsy. There was nothing different about her screeching right after the Broly movie came out that was different from her previous outings, other than there was a faction of VAs primed and ready to stick the knives in Vic's back. She may be a terrible person but she was never a ringleader in any of this.

This has with out a doubt turned Vic into a C-list star. I would have ranked D or lower before this, since who the fuck knows the name of a guy that ONLY voices a character.

If you told me he was in Fullmetal Alchemist I'd at least have recognized the character, but the main thing I actually knew was the Girugamesh commercial.

DBZA doesn't make money directly, which is the only thing that counts when it comes to copyright. Toei's problem is that they're stuck in the 19th century and don't understand what fair use parody is.

It also looks pretty marginal and I have little doubt that Toei could make out a colorable claim of infringement. That would tie you up in court for conceivably years. They only haven't because Sabat has held them at bay. How much does it cost to defend a copyright infringement suit, even a bogus one, against someone who cares?

More than you have is how much.

Oh dear god! There is just so much wrong there. To start off regarding any thoughts of Toei not being able to do anything about TFS because DBZ is licensed to Funi in the States and Funi is in some way protecting them? Yeah, no! That’s actually the exact opposite of how such licensing works. Toei has the legal obligation as the root IP owner to protect the value of the license that Funi has contracted.

It depends on the agreement.

You generally have the right to sue on your own behalf to protect rights you've licensed from someone else, and of course, the actual rights owner has the right to sue on their own behalf as well. Sometimes, because of convenience or for whatever reason, they'll agree that the local company has the obligation to protect the rights, with or without a termination clause for failing to do so, and with or without the obligation of the main rights holder paying them to do this. This might be because the other company just has better legal resources.

That Invented_Games fag also decided to play deposition with @EriMin. The smooth brain did not like that she came out to challenge Ahmed's affidavit.

Please good internet person, would you point us in the right direction to see such exceptional is?

Sure:

What a sped.

So much for Japan being based?

I've already said this before, but there's people like renfamous and Manjaw out there in the world. There was a guy from ComicsGate that was already SWATed and I have no doubts there are others who would feel no remorse committing a federal crime. TUG has way more people that hate him than some weebs. If he wasn't so much of a drama queen about all of this I wouldn't give the idea that he knocked his mailbox down much credence, but it's hard to tell if he's just being his normal over dramatic self or trying to play this up and cause as much outrage as possible. Why does everyone think acting like a faggot is a logical choice at any point in time?
We're in the culture war, and anyone who sees themselves as fighting in it sees many things as an attack directly aimed at them. They must defend themselves and attack at anything they deem as the enemy. SJWs and the left already know this, given Antifa and their propensity to double down at every turn.

Why is it always Texas?

Does it have something to do with the sheer number of anime conventions in the area?
Has it polluted the water with UwU, and turned the frogs exceptional?

Yet it's ok to brigade and destroy a man's career and life a week after his biggest success in 10 years with the real possibility of him killing himself

But that's fine because he's not a woman.

To think I thought this fat bitch was going to be boring.

Would be awkward if all the information was found via googling their name 🤔

This shit is going overdrive now. Funimation may lose the rights to One Piece thanks to Vic's lawsuit. :)

ONE PIECE ANIME FAN started this petition to Toei Animation and 2 others
One Piece is a global entertainment phenomenon. Debuting in 1997, the original story by Eiichiro Oda has sold over 430 million manga units worldwide and has also spawned an anime series adapted by Toei Animation which has aired almost 900 episodes to date. The One Piece anime has been released in multiple countries and has experienced success with continuous releases of locally dubbed content with over 600 episodes released in German, French, Korean, and more.
Currently, the One Piece English dub has hit a standstill in North America. Stopping in summer of 2018 at only 574 dubbed episodes, the English version of the anime halts right before the start of the Punk Hazard arc. Funimation Productions, LLC, which owns the North American rights for the One Piece anime, has not offered any official statement regarding the release of new episodes. With over one year of no new English episodes nor an official announcement, the fate of the series in the US remains uncertain.
Due to the high costs associated with licensing new episodes, as well as scattered support for the English version of the series, One Piece’s English dubbed future rests on the shoulders of the fans. Supporters of the anime must unite and let it be known to Funimation and Toei Animation that there is enough collective interest to warrant the continuation of the dub.
The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate to both Funimation and Toei Animation that there is a substantial fanbase for the English version of the series and that the dub should continue where it left off.
Show support towards the continuation of the One Piece English dub by signing and sharing this petition, as well as using the hashtag “#DubHazard” on social media platforms! Don't forget to support the series as well by purchasing the home media releases and by watching it on legal streaming platforms.

Assuming this was real being an over dramatic faggot is exactly what the person wanted. This is internet 101. Give a reaction and you're just opening yourself up for more. People don't like you and allegedly knocked down your mailbox it's ok to be a little freaked out in private, but publicly you have to no sell that shit.

The only reason you react is to provoke a different reaction that's favorable, which never seems to be the goal. Why people can't figure out just not to react, I don't know.

Why is it always Texas?

Does it have something to do with the sheer number of anime conventions in the area?
Has it polluted the water with UwU, and turned the frogs exceptional?

It's just the large number of people, I imagine.

Would be awkward if all the information was found via googling their name 🤔

She's got no room to talk. The whole idea of 'we should hire women to do it because only the men are evil doxers' ignores the part where tumblrinas have gone out of their way to try to get girls they don't like raped or otherwise harmed by sharing their dox with men who offer to 'teach those girls a lesson', or just handing it to the victim's past stalker or whatever.
