ONE PIECE ANIME FAN started this petition to Toei Animation and 2 others
One Piece is a global entertainment phenomenon. Debuting in 1997, the original story by Eiichiro Oda has sold over 430 million manga units worldwide and has also spawned an anime series adapted by Toei Animation which has aired almost 900 episodes to date. The One Piece anime has been released in multiple countries and has experienced success with continuous releases of locally dubbed content with over 600 episodes released in German, French, Korean, and more.
Currently, the One Piece English dub has hit a standstill in North America. Stopping in summer of 2018 at only 574 dubbed episodes, the English version of the anime halts right before the start of the Punk Hazard arc. Funimation Productions, LLC, which owns the North American rights for the One Piece anime, has not offered any official statement regarding the release of new episodes. With over one year of no new English episodes nor an official announcement, the fate of the series in the US remains uncertain.
Due to the high costs associated with licensing new episodes, as well as scattered support for the English version of the series, One Piece’s English dubbed future rests on the shoulders of the fans. Supporters of the anime must unite and let it be known to Funimation and Toei Animation that there is enough collective interest to warrant the continuation of the dub.
The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate to both Funimation and Toei Animation that there is a substantial fanbase for the English version of the series and that the dub should continue where it left off.
Show support towards the continuation of the One Piece English dub by signing and sharing this petition, as well as using the hashtag “#DubHazard” on social media platforms! Don't forget to support the series as well by purchasing the home media releases and by watching it on legal streaming platforms.
