Is it looking good for Vic at this stage? I follow Reiketa law occasionally and it seems like things are going well for Vics case, but in general these types of cases are hard to "win". Do you think even if a positive outcome is reached this man still has a career?

This mans life was ruined. There should be serious consequences for this sort of lying and embellishment. Any woman could come out of the woodwork and accuse a man and his life is ruined before due process. There are countless false-rape accusations exposed online from evidence, or directly where the woman comes clean later on. There are a handful of things in this world I'd call evil... Ruining someones life and livelihood like this is one of them...

It's not that bad so far, actually.

Despite all the initial damage these asshats did, most of it has been mitigated and the only people who are actually swallowing this shit are the deranged fujoshits.

The ringleaders of this shit show are getting roasted in court and when the TCPA dies, as it seems increasingly likely for most involved, capitulation is bound to be inevitable.

Vic is still doing well and I have no doubt vindication will cool the ardor of the false accusation crowd, as he was supposed to be an easy target and that blew up in their face hard.

No. They're going to do #3.

3. Ignore everyone to death.

Yeah, there are some angry ISWV and KV people hovering around them. Their best bet is to keep their damned heads down and wait for the swarm to fly over to Funimation once the blood hits the water.

Sadly, this would require the SJWs at RT to keep their damned mouths shut which is unlikely at best.

I am assuming they will be sued in round 2. So if the TCPA fails for Funimation, it would probably fail for RT. You can either get ahead of the problem or get steamrolled.

I don’t think option 2 can happen because they already got a new guy for Qrow and I’m not sure how far along they are in production.

That depends on the contract. I don't think Funimations made any guarantees that the signee's audio tracks would be used.

Even then, they could just terminate his contract. I don't think he would be that salty about giving Vic his job back.

In the commentary for "Mayored to the Mob" (The Simpsons, Season 10), Mark Hammil expressed surprise that the Simpsons could change lines up to two weeks before broadcast.

That was twenty years ago. Rooster Teeth stuff is all in house. A few late nights for some audio techs and they would be in business.

impossible to tell, the judge has not said anything that would allow us to infer which side he's leaning towards.

TCPA hearings are scheduled for the next two weeks i think, those will result in he first major decisions handed down by the court (dismiss the case or dismiss the motion).

At which point it inevitably moves into a 6 month stall for appeals of the TCPA.

Funi and RT never expected this level of blowback from firing what the left labeled as “a predator”. They completely misread the room. They are getting blowback and loss of business from things that they never (but should have) anticipated would cause a problem.

Another novelty is the people leaving are generally the superfans who spent lots of money, not just to buy one thing a year, but possibly to buy their entire line, maybe spending thousands. But worse, instead of just going and spending the same money on something else, they're turning around and donating thousands specifically to hire lawyers to go fuck their shit up, so they not only lost income, they now have to spend the smaller amount of income they have left defending themselves.

My thoughts: Funation might settle and bow out first chance they get but might not give dirt. VAs will double down, and RT won’t bring back Vic since they recast Qrow already.

Well, there’s Sentai and Viz. Unfortunately, given the advent of anime seasons, it’s kind of hard to say what titles will be lasting hits, and what’s just the flavor of the month.

Rooster Teeth shot themselves in the foot long before we got here. Volumes 5 and 6 of RWBY burned a lot of goodwill outside of their little bubble, and Gen Lock isn’t the mega hit they thought it’d be when they got all those VAs.

I must keep reiterating they burned a lot of goodwill among the RWBY fanbase. The RT general fanbase doesn't share the same venue as their flagship show. So those numbers considerably low in comparison to the people they get every year that doesn't follow them strictly for RWBY. It's true, Gen: lock wasn't RWBY level big, but it would be foolish to say it is a failure. It got enough buzz to earn a spot for Toonami despite being a web series. And not to mention their deals with Hasbro, DC, and the recently announced collaboration with Netmarble weren't affected by this.

The best we can hope is to know how much they know about the investigation, and the suit forcing them to restructure from inside the house. But any possibility of them going out of business is a long shot.

And every single time one of their unhinged creatives spouts off on Twitter it makes things worse for them. I wonder how Randall Stephenson feels about this? Having been hauled into court by the outrage pimps in the past on spurious false claims of racism? I wonder how the execs at Warner Bros feel after watching what was done to Ken Tsujihara? I suspect that corporate leadership has grown weary of walking on eggshells for fear they will be the next target.

They shouldn't be hanging their hats on DC since DC is slashing their publishing of comics to bits. They shuttered Vertigo and all the SJW titles in it. At SD Comicon, Dan DiDio was lamenting the old/reprints being their consistent titles and asking what it was that people actually wanted.
Then consider the Batwoman disaster, Ruby Rose not even showing up to SDCC and their VERY spotty success in the movie endeavors.

I'm pretty confident that Warner Bros is well aware of the Vic situation and RT's connection/involvement since Hollywood lives and dies by social media. So I have to think that will impact RT/Warner Bros. going forward. Especially if they get named in Round 2 or their involvement 'behind the scenes' gets exposed in Round 1.

I think that, at this point, Vic has already ensured his career will continue. Merely by filing the suit, he's strongly denied the allegations. The GoFundMe has proven that Vic's fans believe him and are willing to spend money to support him. That's all that's needed, really. Vic brings with him a customer base, wherever he goes. He can talk to any dubbing studio or convention and say, hey, I've got a dedicated fanbase willing to spend money on my work. Whether he wins or loses, the baseless rumors and allegations are likely still going to follow him; these people never give up. But without people in the industry lying, attaching their names to the rumors, and interfering with Vic's con appearances, the allegations will be toothless just like they were before the Broly Movie.

Ron and Monica are likely already broke, and their lawyers don't expect to win on the TCPA. Monica and Jaime are likely either going to be fired for dragging Funimation into a lawsuit, or Funimation is quietly going to let their contracts expire without renewal. This lawsuit has already caused them severe financial damage. They'll probably become very loud on Twitter if Vic ultimately loses, but Twitter isn't the real world and their capacity to cause Vic damage will still be severely reduced.

Is she really trying to go after Vic's looks like. Especially what Monica and Jamie look like

When people say he looks great for 56, they mean that he looks great for 56. If he got some plastic surgery done, it doesn't negate the fact that he still looks great for 56. It just means that it's partly owed to deftly done plastic surgery.

And if you use makeup at all, you especially shouldn't be talking. Women (not just girls, women) with their usual makeup and women without makeup are as different as day and the vacuum of outer space.

And-- wow, Skye retweeted this?

I don't think I need to say anything there.

Interesting they’re going after his looks instead of the obvious target that is his pants.
I believe they have gone after their pants, mostly in a weird joking matter, but I believe one or two of them said they LIKED them and pushed back against that.
Which maybe the biggest indictment against them.

She already has nursing creds so...she could save a few bucks AND have a career. Just Sayin.

women) with their usual makeup and women without makeup are as different as day and the vacuum of outer space.

The gut-busting hilarity of a nasty ass skank whore like Dom, who looks like hot garbage even after troweling on makeup like a prostitute or Tammy Faye Bakker, criticizing anyone else's appearance will never cease to amuse.

She's just jealous that her plastic surgery doesn't look half as convincing.
