Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez general thread - Dead N*ger storage /Machette don’t tweet

Well, I bought tickets so that a couple of friends and I will see Once Upon A Time In Hollywood on opening weekend, and I actually am looking forward to it.

Not sure if ppl know already but in regards to Sharon in the film

Sharon fights off her attackers alongside Brad Pitt Leo, and Bruce Lee. While I wish she was not murdered of course, I cant help but feel this is either some kind of metoo thing or a fetish

Are you fucking serious? that's not what happened at all. I saw the movie a few hours ago. the manson fuckers changed their minds because they were high so they decied instead of killing shaorn tate they go to leo's house. and Pitt high on acid kicks all their asses to death

I just saw once upon a time in hollywood .
this is certaily one of the slowest of the taranino flicks, one thing tho i love it for being a love letter to holywood in the 60s seen through the eyes of an actor that's on the verge of being a has been. this is not your usual gorefest. this is a story of a man that feels like his prime is passing and the world he leaves behind isn't one he can fit on. oh and the manson familly crap was just a checkovs gun for the climax

Fucking wiki trolls. Apparently they fabricated the ending

I saw it today and I liked it. He takes his time but the setting and characters are interesting enough that they carry things. One thing that I wish Tarantino would stop doing is the fucking 3/4 pole narration. It jolts you out of everything. Granted he was smart enough not to do it himself this time, but it still was awkward. The narration at some points is so hamfisted that it's literally explaining what's going on in front of you in the scene - what you're seeing with your own two eyes. If it's a matter of run time I think other choices could have been made to hasten the pace.

And don't worry about the film being feminist. In fact I'd be shocked if there wasn't SJW sperging about the end. The film is...decidedly...anti-hippy (ANTIFA?).

Brad Pitt is fucking awesome.

The narration is for aesthetic purposes. It gives a color commentary to what's going on. I liked it.
The SJW sperging I've seen is that there isn't enough female representation. An argument can be made that, since Manson is responsible for Sharon Tate's murder, and this is a revenge flick, that it should've been her doing the killing. Maybe that's true. Still, in an age where we see more than enough girl power, I was happy with the lack of it in this film.

The strongest female character was 8 years old.

This isn’t a revenge flick tho , it’s an introspective look at Rick dalton as a human and as an actor as well as how it affects his relationship with Cliff. I honestly think that the whole reason Tate was in the plot is so that they could subject your expectations and give you Cliff kicking the asses of hippies while high .

Not sure about that but Lena Dunham was a fat, dirty, Spahn Ranch hippy.

It wasn't much of a stretch.

Also, bitter old queen alert. Sorry George, nobody wants to see you on screen again. Just keep sucking that Hollywood dick and be happy millenials were dumb enough to embrace you.

So many randoms.....Luke Perry, Fatso Jew Nepotism, The Love Witch, the eldest Von Trapp son, Cyclops, Superior Fanning Sister....

Vol. 1 had the completely unironic Studio Madhouse produced anime segment.

That was kind of the best part. Anime really does not translate well to live action. If you're not a huge fan of anime (I only have a few near and dear ones) then you're gonna be lost, and if you're super into anime (like I was when I was a larval weeb) then its just not the same thing and all the stuff you can do in animation is lost in the format of live action.
