Which is why I think a third party needs to come into play. Both of the traditional parties have gotten away with much of their shit because they were the only real players in U.S. politics after the American Civil War and since then nothing has really challenge or put in check of the power they wield.Patriot act was very bipartisan. Neocons and Democrats very much agree on extending government authority.
In the case of Donald Trump, the American establishment hated him because he wasn't the traditional candidate when he first ran for president back in 2016. They ran their stupid Russia conspiracy theory almost every day throughout his presidency in the hopes that he would end his campaign then, in which later they wanted him to step down from public office, and now they want to impeach him. Seeing Donald Trump getting elected was for the first time that their power was being challenged and those in power want to keep their power and not give it up.
Today it's Donald Trump being the thing that has challenged the power of the American establishment and tomorrow we could even see a third party could step into the world of U.S politics and truly change the political landscape of the United States in the near future and shit.
