Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Ahh this one popped up on my IG recommended and I was wondering if they were munching. Although anyone with "chronically" in their name triggers my suspicions.
If I had a dime for every "chronically" account out there...... I'd be able to pay a doctor for an invasive procedure I don't need just for asspats.
I think the reason he intrigues me even though he's actually quite boring (like super emotionless in every photo) is he reminds me of my little brother. If my little brother had access to all the same medical tools they would be twins.

Are we sure sj wasn't just completely binned when she typed this up? We know she likes to drink and I know I've sent a few messages like that after one too many glasses of wine. Also, considering the other videos shes posted like the vomiting one I wouldn't put it past her to post a crying on the toilet with the shits video to prove to the haters how sooper sick she is

Liquid poop or it didn’t happen!

But do I have a Sarah Jean theory...

Hold the phone! What's your theory?

Edit: I'm stupid, I think you laid it out already. lol. She's deprived me so much the last few days, I'm jumping on anything S-J

Well, in the meantime, here's a small introduction to a new-ish girl on the block. I can't figure this one out and would be happy to hear anyone's opinion. Meet Jenn. Erotica novelist. POTS/MCAS/et al sufferer. I'm suspect due to her use of baby talk and I swear she bought her subscribers because her views don't match up with the count. It's really disproportionate.

This is the video where she received a brand new, shiny direct J toob and port.

Really interested in anyone's thoughts.

I don't have too much time to go over her but she's a former competitive gymnast and ballet dancer claiming hEDS. I don't know much about ballet's strains on the joints but anyone with clinically significant hypermobility to the point where it needs a diagnosis is not going to be able to compete as a gymnast, even if we assume that her symptoms were exacerbated by puberty and prior to that she had few problems. Gymnastics is fucking tough on your joints and her competition photos don't even show her wearing the normal braces that gymnasts all end up wearing because of it.

She admits she learned about her various illnesses from Jaquie and Amy Lee Fisher before she got diagnosed, then shopped around for doctors who would give those diagnoses out.

Had a baby, no stretch marks. No.

Half her photos she shows are blatant body checks. Claims all her weight loss was unintentional. "Food is poison to me."

"Took it upon herself to find out what's wrong with her" before finding the youtubers, by researching through an alphabetical list of diseases until she found one she thought she could pull off. Bawled with happy tears when she thought she had lupus despite having extensive testing that showed nothing was wrong with her. Gets shitty attitude when her doctor says she doesn't have it. This is, by her own description, one of the worst days of her life. Jesus christ. Begged to be hospitalised because she "knew she was dying." What she's describing is anxiety.

It took DAYS to get an IV in while in the hospital. But has pictures of normal bloodwork from her numerous other tests. Two problems here: 1) sounds like someone dehydrated herself, and 2) who documents normal bloodwork other than someone for whom every test is a potential jackpot?

ANA is positive, everything else is negative, loses her shit that the doctor says positive ANA is meaningless and she needs an SSRI. Doctor decides she's anorexic and has reflux.

Her feeding tubes get fucked up within a few weeks of placement, in exactly the same way that all these ana chans feeding tubes are mysteriously getting fucked up all the time.

Heals beautifully from surgeries.

Some of her medication:
Diclofenac sodium, topical NSAID
Chlorhexadine mouthwash: used for gingivitis, dry socket.
Tylenol
Biotin supplement, commonly used for hair, skin, and nails
Melatonin supplement for sleep
Trazodone, sedative, used for depression and panic disorders
Elidel, atopic dermatitis/eczema topical treatment.
"Magic Mouthwash", one of any number of blends for sores in the mouth
Propranolol, beta blocker
Cyclobenzaprine, muscle relaxer. Someone feel free to correct me but it seems like a muscle relaxer would be the absolute worst thing if you had hEDS.
Finacea, topical for rosecea and acne
Clobetasol, more eczema treatment

I'll be back with more but I'm going to say probably just an anachan who wanted a diagnosis to justify her eating disorder and was bendy enough to convince some schmuck it was hEDS, dehydrated herself enough to get a POTS dx from a TTT, etc.

You are the best. I knew something was off with her, but with how chaotic my life is at the moment, it's so difficult for me to have the time really go through things. Her incessant need to use the baby talk drives me bonkers. But I'm mildly amused by her literary aspirations.

Edit: I don't know why I'm hung up on wondering if she bought subs but I am! Girlfriend has some crazy low view counts with upwards 2k subscribers

Cyclobenzaprine, muscle relaxer. Someone feel free to correct me but it seems like a muscle relaxer would be the absolute worst thing if you had hEDS.
This med is also unlikely with her alleged Sjogren's. Sjogren's causes systemic dryness, but especially effects the mouth. Cyclobenzaprine, or Flexeril is notorious for causing terrible dry mouth in people without any diseases. I'm not saying that she's not on it, but if she has Sjogren's severe enough to need special mouthwashes for sores, she probably wouldn't want to be on it.

Regarding the use of muscle relaxers for hEDS, I know it seems counterintuitive, but the reasoning is because most patients with EDS suffer from chronic myofascial pain as well. However, I know personally if I was dealing with a genuine EDS dx, I would be more concerned with completing regular physical therapy instead of muscle relaxers. These lovely ladies want as many pills as possible, tho!

PT is for normal people who have a diagnosis, not the super rare worst-case-the-doctor-has-ever-seen zebras. Duh.

PT is also a commitment and hard, frustrating work when you can just pop a pill.

Does she have an active Instagram? I tried to click the link in the YouTube video but it seems she deleted that account.

We have a thread on a true and honest paranoid schizophrenic woman: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/gail-chord-schuler-gabrielle-chana.521/

She has a Youtube channel and her delusions are based around that she thinks the Jesuits are out to kill her and she writes bizarre books which generally feature Brent Spiner. Her videos are outrageous but at the same time it's kind of sad how her mental illness has affected her life.

I think schizophrenia is one of those illnesses that everyone thinks is easy to fake because of the way it's portrayed on tv and in movies. That's not at all what it's like, looking at Gail's and Terry A Davis's youtube videos you can get some idea though of how it really affects people.
Thank you for sharing this. I will look into this more. The times I have spent with schizophrenic patients has really demonstrated how, in general, in the midst of acute crisis, there is absolutely no way to actually understand them. The speech center of the brain and the troubleshooting part make it so that communication is impossible. We aren’t talking about not speaking rationally but about far- fetched ideas or describing delusions. We are talking the complete inability to communicate anything; sometimes words are garbled, but mostly it is like a person is frustratingly trying to speak about something but with their brain picking out words haphazardly out of the dictionary without or with little relation to what they’re trying to say along with delusions and random focusing on things like the mini-blinds growing larger or a person’s eyes bugging out or teeth growing.

Y’all gonna love me and the munchies are about to get PISSED when I depart this little nugget of knowledge. There are really no true muscle relaxants on the market. Why is that? Because what happens if I cause your muscles to stop contracting as much? Oh, you will stop breathing and your heart will relax. So, you’re asking what IS Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine). It is marketed as a skeletal muscle relaxer but guess what it most closely resembles molecularly? Tricyclic Antidepressants.

So, Flexeril’s closest relative is amitriptyline, just one molecule away. But it’s cousin is Trazadone, a tricyclic antidepressant. It is not a sedative. But, it does give a mild sedative like effect to make some people sleepy. (IIRC about 30%). So it is often one of the first line of treatments used for people who are having trouble sleeping, and used for nothing else, because it is very piss-poor at resolving most depressive symptoms.

So, ironically (or not), it is given to people who complain about muscle spasms because it just tends to make them feel relaxed and works on seretonin. Drugs like amitriptyline, cymbalta, and Flexeril are excellent at relieving centralized pain that’s coming from the brain and is from the body’s gatekeeping system being overrun with its own epinephrine. Amplified pain Syndrome is what that is usually called. It can be common in EDS, but also in depression, fibromyalgia (real condition) and other things.

Now, onto the juicy part. Trazadone and Flexeril can be a dangerous combination. They can both lower blood pressure, blood sugar and cause fainting, etc. What can I say... munchies gonna munch.

Where does Soma fall in all this? I'm just curious, because it doesn't seem to be prescribed much anymore that I'm aware of. I had one prescription a while back because of some major c-spine issues (now fixed a la artificial disc replacement), but it was at least 10+ years ago. I just never hear about it these days.

Soma is a very interesting drug. The reason it is no longer prescribed much is because it is a controlled substance and it can cause withdrawal. It is also part of the deadly “Holy Trinity” (opiate, bento, plus soma), and indicated in many deaths. It doesn’t take much of any of these to kill somebody if you take all three at once.

So, onto the drug profile. Interestingly, Soma (Carisoprodol) more closely resembles a barbiturate BUT it’s anti-anxiolytic properties are very similar to a benzodiazepine like Xanax. Because of this, most physicians have moved on to prescribing Valium instead in cases of severe persistent spasm. But, really, there is very little pharmacologically that will treat muscle spasms that are in contracture, short of Botox, a paralytic. Valium or soma or whatever generally work by making you feel relaxed and want to lay down and not use your muscles, and not care as much about the spasms.

Certification for eyes/heart/hips/elbows is not recommended for all breeds of dog. Goldens really should have eyes/heart/hips/elbows checked because they are prone to genetic cardiac, ophthalmic, and orthopedic diseases. There are some breeders who choose to go outside of OFA and have their dogs evaluated by specialists not OFA certified. IMO, this is fine, as OFA specialists are not always readily available. As long as a board certified xxx clears them, fine with me. There is an alternative to OFA for evaluation of hip dysplasia called Penn Hip, which is better at determining degree of hip dysplasia as it is breed dependent and the animal receives a rank, rather than a good or bad rating like in OFA; therefore it is more sensitive.

I looked up Eagle Ridge- def a puppy mill, they have way too many dogs. Gross.

Edit: words
I dunno where you're at, but in the USA that is not true. OFA doesn't require vet specialization, PennHip does. And even if it's "not reccomended" for all breeds (not true, I'd argue), you shouldn't be breeding without hip certs at LEAST.

For OFA the vet just takes the rads and submit them. OFA analyzes them. Any vet can do it.

Thank you! I do remember it being part of the deadly combo...and you're right, I was given a benzo as a replacement (Ativan instead of Valium).

@chronicallyjennkacey but I haven't looked into it yet.
