Toxic is such a stupid weasel-word now. It can mean everything from, "I disagree with this person" to "This person wants to lynch blacks and start a race war". The funny part is the people using that word don't know the difference between those two extremes.
My policy is that if you use toxic to refer to anything other than actual poison you're a baboon.

Anyway, what's everyone's favorite long dead Vinesauce meme?

Ralph Blutawn (or however its spelled) Tho when I hopped on the Vinesauce train he was pretty much put out to pasture cause of second life being banned on twitch and likely cause of SJWs bitching too much over how Ralph is "ableist" or whatever.

Edit: He was also getting rid of him cause he was bored with the character, that the meme with Ralph just got old.

It was probably mainly this. Ralph died around 2014, and Vinny was very much not the kind of person to kill off a joke for someone else's sake during that time. But he's quick to do it if it bores him, just like the painfully unfunny He Thicc - which, weirdly, became funny because of how aggressively devoid of humor it was - and other similar one-note jokes that should've been taken out back and shot.

Although, I don't know if it's just me, but all of his jokes and newer memes seem extremely forced nowadays. He hardly sounds interested in making them, and he seems to get bored of them right away, whereas back in the day, many of his old jokes could span years before they became outplayed. Maybe that's just a reflection of the much shorter life cycle that memes have now, but still, it's odd to see it.

I think its also his age showing too, tho Joel also is getting annoyed with new and old memes alike (Granddad and all that. Save for "CBT wizard" during his 18+ hour self-torture of trying to beat his kaizo level to have it uploaded)

I wish he'd bring back Miitopia but with his own choice of who he brings into it. Like, play it off-stream till the post-end-game content.(Miitopia had really good music and New Lumos would be full of Blade Runner remarks from Vin) and But it's easy to see why he wants nothing to do with Tomodachi LIfe/Miitopia anymore, its nothing but meme hell and creepy fans who gay ship him with Vlinny and even kin themselves with Vlinny which makes the shipping even more creepy.

I don't think that it's just you.
Vinny hardly makes any jokes now, and when he does they're one-offs for that stream only. unlike back in 2013-2016, when they would last for much more, hell, remember "sponge"?

I would dare hazarding an hypothesis where it's a mix of Vinny no longer being that much interested in making jokes*, memes dying after a month (whereas other, even unfunny like the techno spartan would've lived for years before decaying),
*: in part due to the new autistic fandom (again, just take a look at the amount of spergs in the "vinesauce hell\shroomposting" facebook group or the discord server as an example), in part of aging, and probably reevaluating life choices.
He wanted to be more involved in the music industry more that he his right now, iirc.

But when your audience changes from somewhat mature to "HAHA DO A FUNNY BINYOT!!! IDK IF YOU'RE TIRED!!11! TROONS RIGHTS!!!", I think that even I would stop caring about creating memes to keep the community engaged and just go on with the livestream until it's over, hoping it will be the less painful possible. The community grew backwards, instead of maturing with him, they became monkeys.

I think we all need to stop coping at this point. The old times obviously aren't coming back, the community is shit, even the normal chat (offstream as well as onstream). Vinny's gotten old (which isn't bad, he's just mature now) but it's devastating to see him throwing in Nirvana/Beatles/Led Zeppelin references and the chat either not getting it or responding with "Boomer LUL" and things like that. I remember a few streams ago where he sang a part of an old LZ song and the zoomers in chat kept spamming the Bowie emoji, he sounded quite upset/disappointed by chat messing that one up. It's just one of those things that happens during every stream and shows that chat is a mentally disabled hivemind filled with underage trannies, furries and weebs.

With Joel... he just softened, I suppose. Insults bad, fights bad, sex bad (a while ago he mentioned that he gets really disgusted at the amount of sex on TV and in his chat, which I understand) everything bad. We ain't ever going to get our beloved drunk, bike riding, alcoholic "I got my first blowjob at 14 lol" edgy metalhead back. I feel like Joel doesn't like who he is now himself at times, like it's kinda funny because during some streams he'll say "n-no I'm not a weeb at all, I don't even watch anime that much" (probably because he's seeing what he'd be associated with otherwise) but then he'll instantly contradict himself like with so many other things. All in all, I'd say Joel's chat and fanbase has the biggest amount of manchildren in all of Vinesauce while Vinny got the trans kids and furries.

For me it's gotten to a point where I've disabled chat when I'm watching either of them live, because dear god I cannot stand seeing le super epic THICC xDDD IS THIS A JOJO REFERENCE????!!!?!! or YIKES respect trans uwu every second. But maybe, just maybe we're just part of the old grumpy fucks now that we swore we'd never turn into when we were younger. Just maybe. Vinesauce's just not gonna change back.

It's sad because it's true. We're part of an older generation now.

That's what I meant when I wrote "I think that even I would stop caring about creating memes to keep the community engaged if said community would turn from something relatively mature into an hellhole of 'troons right! yikes do a funny!!1 xddd'", but I worded it pretty badly, I think. Just checking to this vinny and the younger vinny, it's almost like two entirely different person (not to mention how 'unhappy' he looks like when he meets his fans compared to how he looks like when he's doing something he enjoys).

Anything on Jen? I mean, all I know is that she was one of earliest viewers, that "she's always depressed", that she's something like 38 or so years old and that she kind-of sympathized with the 'new community' when they were starting, which I think was a massive mistake, they should've silenced everyone immediately, to avoid this mess of an unholy hiveminded 'community'.

I don't think Jen got anything on her. Honestly, everyone but Joel & Vinny (and maybe Rev) is so utterly invisible in the Vinesauce team these days that I don't think we'd even notice... like for fuck's sake, I haven't heard anyone even mention Feargingers in years.

The only thing that comes to mind is that Jen, Limes and Fred used to send nudes to fans but ones that aren't, uuuh... looking "great" either, but I don't know what their fans were expecting. Honestly nothing else comes to mind. They're still easy to find if you check yuki.la (in case the other 4chong archive took them down or something).

Speaking of old, these threads Vinny created are still archived (thankfully).

I start to suffocate/have panic attacks just watching the twitch stream chat unfold. Imagine if you were a streamer and had to pay attention to that shit every time you tried to put some bread on the table. Holy shit I'd go postal.

Feargingers
Holy shit, I completely forgot about him. KY is still in the team, and from what I understood about him in this thread he's doing background work.
Hootey, Potato, Direboar, Lime, Imakuni and GeePM are completely invisible. It feels like they're moderators that sometimes stream with the big bois too.

That's any streaming platform these days. There isn't a good one, and when it appears, it usually goes down after few months because they usually organize the site so badly that it becomes hell-like. "Oh, but it promises to pay the content creators" Paypal and Patreon (and alternatives) are still a thing, let them police themselves when it comes to getting paid, at least for the first years. while You, site admin, focus on getting a better GUI for the site, while also trying to stabilize it. But apparently nobody can understand how people used to make sites even in the early 2010s, and now they go down like flies.

He got kicked for misusing a donation, I think?

EDIT: Yep
There's even a long statement from the "team"
It’s uncommon that the Vinesauce team feels the need to produce an official statement, but in this case we find it both right and necessary in order to help set the record straight on a matter that has caused concerns within our community. In the past week, we have heard objections about one of our streamers, Alex (GeePM), having taken liberties in soliciting donations from the community for personal gain. After looking into this situation, we have come to the conclusion that he acted outside of the standards upheld by the Vinesauce team.

On January 18th, Alex put out a call to ask for assistance from the community at large with a personal financial situation. The people that donated were very generous and helpful in his time of need; however, Alex’s request was made without any communication with the rest of the team. Alex purchased a large quantity of personal items before asking for help, most of which he displayed publically. After receiving many complaints from the community, we decided to look into this situation more carefully and have confirmed with Alex that his spending was indulgent. As a result, he wasn’t in a position to ask for help in the way he did.

Soliciting donations for personal need is strongly against the values of the Vinesauce team. We would have been happy to work with Alex privately about his finances, but we had not been consulted. To be clear, stream tips, bits and subs are all fine ways of supporting a streamer, and should always be the choice of the community member.

After talking with Alex a great deal in the past few days, we truly believe that this wasn't a scheme or plot to steal money from the community. He has been apologetic, both privately and publically, and understands what he did wrong. We have encouraged him to ask us for help with budgeting if he needs it. We support Alex and we want him to succeed. We have also encouraged him to seek outside employment if he continues having financial difficulty. It can take years for some to develop a full-time streaming career, and may never happen for others; it's not a thing to be taken for granted.

After consideration from all team members, it has been decided that Alex be suspended from the team for one year. Our decision is final and Alex has agreed that it is for the best. The details are still being hammered out, but during this time, he will not be associated with the Vinesauce name. As a collective of streamers, we recognize the autonomy of each person on our team. However, when it comes to issues that involve collecting donations for personal gain, we expect a level of communication that did not occur here. Many members of the community wanted a more severe punishment, but we also empathize with his situation, and feel this is the best way to go. We also understand that the most vocal people are not always the most objective or level-headed.

After a year, we will check back with Alex and he will then have the possibility of returning to the team. We believe in Alex, and having spoken with him about his future, we know he will grow and learn much during this time. This does not change the fact that he is a veteran streamer and has continued to create enjoyable content for many people; his actions simply did not reflect well on the team and our events, such as our summer charity stream.

Years ago, a community precedent was established when one of our streamers embarked on a personal donation drive without our consent. We later discovered that the need for these donations was exaggerated. Ultimately, they were removed from the team for distorting the truth and disrespecting the community. Alex’s situation drew parallels to this previous incident; had we been aware of his plight, we would have discouraged him from soliciting donations. However, as stated earlier, we don’t believe that Alex’s intent was malicious, which is why this resulted in a suspension.

Alex will continue streaming on his channel and we will still be there for him if he needs us. If you have any problems or concerns about this, email us at teamvinesauce@gmail.com. If you have any specific inquiries for Alex, email him at contactgeepm@gmail.com. We thank you, the Vinesauce community, for your continued support and love. We're sorry if this incident has upset you but we are doing our best to make things right. From all of us, let's move forward from this together and continue to focus on the reason why we stream in the first place: because it's fun.

-The Vinesauce Team

And the statement from Geepm
Hi everyone. First off, I wanted to thank you guys and the Vinesauce team for being so patient throughout this whole issue. I made a mistake or or to be frank, I screwed up. I betrayed not only the team's trust, but the community’s.

I understand why the decision was made and I feel no ill-will towards the team. I whole-heartedly agree this suspension is fair. I have reflected upon my actions. my character, and who I am as a person, and the team have helped me grow and better myself during this time.

If you wish to continue to support me I ask you support this decision as well. I will continue streaming independently of Vinesauce and the team support me in my self sustaining endeavor. Over the next year I hope to continue to improve myself, rebuild the trust and relationship that was broken along the way. Nothing about how I stream will change, and moving forward I hope in time we can move past this, grow stronger and I can continue to make you smile along the way.

Warmest Regards,
Alex

This type of shit is exactly why Hootey ended up taking control of the charity streams. I can't remember who - my money's on Fred, but it may have been someone who's no longer working for Vinesauce like Bran - but this happened years ago with one of the older members, where some of the money that was supposed to go to the charity was repurposed for their own needs. I understand that he needed the money, but GeePM should've been aware that soliciting donations at all is already on thin fucking ice with the Vinesauce crew (after the last fiasco), much less getting the money and then using it on bullshit. If he was going to do that, he should've had the patience to play the long con and wait until everyone forgot about it before he started spending lavishly. Rookie mistake.

Anyway, who wants to bet that Vin wrote this one up? He's really flexin that English degree, huh?

I completely forgot about FearGingers. Does he even stream anymore?

I heard about the nudes thing but I only heard about Fred doing it. He's the one that was accused of soliciting nudes from teenagers, right? Or was that a site-wide problem? I also heard a rumor that there was a brief span of time where several members of Vinesauce (Joel included, if memory serves) quit due to something skeevy going on behind the scenes, but were later convinced to rejoin. Does anyone have info on that? It's been pretty tough to uncover anything about this particular situation, since anyone who talks about it only half-remembers it.

According to Jen it was Shikaku, which at the time was doing background work for the team (moderating, taking care of forums and site...). which is also why they abandoned the chatango chat, iirc. But according to some old users (like drkojak? i don't remember the nickname properly, so I'm sorry if I'm calling the wrong person) told me she was making that up because she was angry because people were still using something that wasn't under their direct control. Which turned up to be true, at least the last part. But nobody ever debunked if it was shikaku or not.

I remember reading something about that back in 2016 on an archived thread on /v/. I'm curious too, there's a lot of stuff in the crew's background, imo.

Nah, not just Fred. Limes wanted to get some shota too, and Jen ran a NSFW Tumblr at some point. Nobody would have really cared if it wasn't for Fred having nude Skype sessions with underage viewers.

I could've gone my whole life without seeing Fred's fucking teeny weenie. I hope you know you've ruined everything for me.

Really, though, that does shed some light on a lot of the goings on back in the day. I really stuck to Joel's streams in the early days, and I was under the impression that Limes and Imakuni were both guest streamers, so I didn't know any of that stuff. Did their constantly sharing nudes with teenagers have anything to do with the brief departure of a few of the streamers? I would imagine having that kind of information leaked doesn't exactly make one MORE popular, and they were already struggling with their viewership to begin with.

Oh yeah those. Someone sent me two nudes with allegedly Limes and Jen, and I spoke with her about it. She told me they were because of some fan art or something they were posing.

Fred... I was living fine without seeing both his penis and that mess of an apartment, look at all the shit that's scattered around, holy fuck
