Granted, the insanity is high and I'm not saying there is actually a logical answer so this is largely rhetorical, but why does Rial say "(Vic) was told by SONY not to contact (her)"?
a) Vic was at that point already dismissed from working with FUNimation, so who gives a rip what his EX-employer said
and
b) SONY (a corporation) is neither an officer of the law, nor has any authority to tell anyone what to do in the PRIVATE life

I mean, if Vic was still working with FUNimation (and thus he is ordered to refrain from certain activities as an employee) or if this was in reference to a restraining order from the cops, then I get it. But if she doesn't want Vic to talk to her, then just say "Vic, don't talk to me" and "I told him I don't want to talk to him". If I'm being harassed by someone that is not a co-worker of mine, I don't expect said person to care what my employer thinks or says about the matter.

To be honest, if I felt like I got booted from a company for ridiculous and/or illicit reasons, that company telling me not to do something seems like a strong incentive to do it, assuming it isn't illegal. Like if my ex-boss fired me over some BS and tells me "and don't let me see you again" as I'm walking out the door, I'm probably gonna find where he goes for coffee and email resumes while staring at him from a table across the cafe.

That is true... it would truly suck to know I was doubly sure of not getting paid this month as opposed to simply just "sure". And now that I think about it, it would probably hurt my imaginary, not-gonna-happen raise and promotion that I was counting on.

In reality the Judge only has to read the first page or two. If you fail to get his attention there, he's just gonna skim through the rest and rule against it for wasting his time.

Unless you like being reversed on appeal, you have to present your opinions in writing and they have to address what was actually filed. So in reality no, the judge actually does have to read this. Their clerks have to read this. The clerk of courts has to deal with the voluminous documents and docket everything. A bunch of support personnel has to spend time on it.

The judge has a slightly easier time of it if both sides aren't complete idiots, because they can more or less adopt the reasoning of the side that's right, but they still have to analyze it, they still have to research it, they still have to Shepardize all the citations in every dumbass string cite, they still have to compare the factual allegations in the pleading to what is cited in the exhibits, and if the exhibits are trash, or you have to hold them sideways and squint like that absolute fucking garbage LemWAAAAH filed, it still takes up time. Lots of time.
