what was 4chan even about when it wasn't know as a autism soup of a website till these days?

It was always that. If anything it's grown worse as it's filled up with normies and redditors. And the autism is less the weaponized kind and more the eating wall candy kind.

4chan recently altered the text for Global Rule 3...

That change regarding anthro material is already starting to cause issues on /vp/. An anthro thread featuring big-titted Pokemon was deleted when the Tailsposter, their resident shitposter, decided to bombard it with storytime of Two Babies One Fox. Their second thread was promptly deleted and their current thread has said shiposter coming out in full force.

Wait, I thought that was always there and routinely ignored.

Are they actively trying to get themselves killed off? Because it sure seems like it.

/pol/ is the new /b/ in that it's dying a slow but sure death.
People don't like to admit it, but the way chans are set up makes them pretty shitty for politics. The anonymity is helpful as you can say what you want without fear of reprisal, but that's about the only good thing. (VPN + throwaway email, and you can get this anywhere)

Easy to subvert discussions, which is both a problem within itself, and since anyone with a functional brain stem knows this, it makes people paranoid, which causes people to think everything is subversive.

People fight for hegemony of the boards. This is kinda normal on most websites that allow political discussion, but because you don't have any way to identify posters across threads on chans, the best way to accomplish this is just to spam the same talking points over, and over. Here if you did that, you'd likely end up with your very own lolcow thread.

They're a victim of their own success. Half-chan especially, but a lot of newfags come in, and then try so hard to fit into chan culture, that they just copy paste shit they saw in other threads, which kills originality so you just end up having the same debates over, and over again.
Since you don't know what someone is posting from thread to thread, you have no way to know if they're genuinely arguing a political position, or if they're just saying what they think will best counter whatever point is being made by another poster. This means there's no real consequence for being hypocritical as fuck.

That’s why I enjoy just taking part of the happening threads or very current events. Other stuff is just repeated, over and over.

magically stumbled upon a couple good pol threads last night for once (happenings bring out the best in us i guess). first one is an analysis of the "current"-ish shooting sprees, talking about "fourth generation warfare," with actors not even really realizing that they're part of a larger picture which is highly distributed and decentralized, as you might expect. worth a skim with a grain of salt.

second, i know this is late af, i found out that the glowphabet agencies actually did post and instigate shit on 8ch, and they're fucking retards who get paid to be shit at their job, can't cover their tracks, and are general fuckwits who are literal traitors. meanwhile, the Kiwi Firm Research Division does it for free, and 10,000x times better at that considering cost.

you'll notice in the OP image, the (You)s on a fucking printed paper which was then rescanned into an image format. the posts in the image are all the same ID, and apparently linked to one "agent michael j rod." apparently, i'm not sure, and also every post by this IP address is satire &/or ironic, in case that wasn't clear.

here's another find with matching IDs, in case you're out of the loop like i was about the "we are not alone" factor:
