Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Btw guys I heard through the grapevine and a couple of Discords servers that Funimation was bragging about how they quadrupled the charity ask for some battered women’s shelter but I’ve seen no evidence of this charity by them.
Has anyone found that charity?
you fell for a simple deception that is called "not doing your research" Chuck Huber proposed them doing that as a means to stop all of this (he proposed different things to Liar and Lasagna to do) nobody ever accepted any of it.

It seems like this entire thing hinges on the validity of Funimations investigation. Since Vic wants his reputation back, I would think any settlement with Funimation would require retractions of their investigation. If the investigation is rendered invalid then Rials claims collapse also.
While I'd like to say that you're onto something, hasn't Funimation (or at least the people involved in this that aren't VAs) already come out as the double down types?

Having just buzzed through the "Why the Hell are you here Teacher!?" dub on the 7 seas, my worst fears were realized - Rial voices the tanned swimsuit sensei... oh the horror! Don't know why an apparent multiple sexual-assault "victim" would voice a shota lover though..

How much of that is bluffing? Right now they can say and do things because they believe the TCPA will protect them.

That is the one shield, the one barrier that keeps StandWithVic from really gaining ground. We exist in a "Schrodinger's cat" moment where we are all waiting for one man to decide whether Vic can proceed with his lawsuit.

If our legal analysis is correct the TCPA will fail. Then what do they have?

Bluffing only works so long as you have resources to risk. You can risk your jewelry, your car, your house, anything and everything, but at end of it all, you still have to put your cards on the table.

It looks to me that Funimation, Marchi, Toye and Rial have no cards at all. They bet everything with absolutely nothing to play.

You jackasses are going to get me into weirder shit than I already am at this rate.

Weren't we supposed to already be in discovery?
MoRonica have kinda complied to discovery and provided sorta? answers to BHBH's interrogatories. BHBH have filed a motion to compel to force them to comply with the rules. However TCPA filings have now paused discovery for all participants until it's ruled on.

I copied screenshots of ~46/112 pages of Monica's 'evidence' provided to BHBH around page 2202(?) if you want to see how laughable it is.

So what was the narrative that Moronica & Company were trying to push again in regards to how pious the Funimation workplace was, and always had been? I am not really certain why really, they are voice-actors, it's normal for them to not work in the same room or even in the same building, but hey who am I to argue. So just to throw some taint on that 'pristine' image they are trying to push. Not that anyone truly believes them to be pure as the undriven snow anyways......

AnimeExpo 2012

To give some sweet sweet quotes from this article:

"Dirty, filthy, sick , bloody, violent and they're whores too. Fans were treated to not only pole dancers at the Funimation booth, but a panel of Panty and Stocking at AX this year. "

So Funimation, the pious no hug workplace; amirite, put up this booth with poledancing. At an Anime Expo, where there probably is no kids or underage people at all? (Do they keep underage teens and such away from the 'adult' booths/panels?)

"Panty and Stocking is all about sex and eating candy, but it's also about two angels with same names as lingerie They have to kill evil ghosts and earn "Heaven coins" to get back to Heaven. "

"Jamie Marchi who was the head writer who revisioned the script told of how she was told by the Japanese creators to make the show as dirty as possible within the confines of American law. "

"When she was asked, along with the rest of the cast, what was in common with her and her character, she thought for a minute. She replied, "Panty has a goal of sleeping with 1,000 men, (paused) I also set goals."

"Monica Rial was shouted out by one fan to have his baby and with her cutesy voice explained how much she enjoyed being so vulgar for the recordings "

"When the cast was asked what their favorite sexual position one of the guys shouted, " On top of your Mom!" than Monica went, "On top of your Dad. The show ended with the cast being asked to do their orgasm sound as their character at the same time, one of the best panels I've been to at AX. "

Oh, of course, the photos. How could I forget the photos.......(I wish I never saw them, these people and their shenanigans makes me want to pour bleach onto my eyeballs..)
The guy with no beard, posing in front of the two lovely damsels and Ian Sinclair ( who plays chuck) is: Joel McDonald (Brief) and FUNimation Senior Brand Manager . Yes guys , the funimation brand manager, of the pious workplace of no-hugs, right there.

That or they know that coming out of support of Vic is career suicide and that siding with the defendants is good for their image/PR. As for Sabat running things from the shadows and KV being his party line and doing that to be on his good side, that's just rumor milling. And remember...this is just Funimation. 1 studio! Who knows if this is being followed in the rest of their industry?

Staying out of it could also be an option. Look at Chuck Huber, Despite being a very good friend to vic and possibly even being on his side, he's refrained from publically saying anything about the case (to my knowledge anyway).

As for the Sabat thing, I'm thinking he probably is staying out of it now too. He probably tells these people "yeah I'm on your side" but trying to weasel himself out of getting his ass sued. I still see him settling after trying to pass a TCPA.

On the case itself, I just wanted clarity on something, exactly what happens if vic wins all 4 of these cases (or even 1 for that matter) but the war chest is emptied? Ty and Nick said this was round 1 and we've still got definite people who need to be sued for directly interfering with or causing damages to vic thanks to their defamatory statements. Is the winning pay out of the lawsuit immediate or does the GFM limit need to be increased?

I love how they took these photos professionally and they all look marginally better than they usually do, whilst they pulled some pic of vic from heavens knows where and he still comes off as more charming and attractive than them
Notice how they went with a black backdrop and heavy on the shadows? Cannot have Rial's dangerhair be pronounced.

Go for it. This is glorious. Who are the guys, and is the dub any good?

As somebody who's gone to a convention, yes, the 18+ stuff is kept away from the kids. Normally this is done by having them be done pretty damn late.

The guys are:

Ian Sinclair (Chuck) he is the bloke with the beard, between the two damsels.
Joel McDonald (Brief) and FUNimation Senior Brand Manager is the bloke in front.

I shit you not

Well this clown's panel is aging well.

Holds a panel praising Vic, saying how much he's done for him and he can't thank Vic enough. Then posts this on twitter:

I can't help but notice all of them say pretty close to the same thing as 'I'm proud to call these brave women my friends' and then include the title of the article, the CATEGORY, and the name of the publication. All of which can be found just by linking it with the preview. It sure looks to me like someone handed them a script and it was non-optional. Adding things like 'I'm blocking meanies' seem to be okay, but not changing that bit.

strange thing for non-conspiring independent contractors to do.

Also this whole fake outrage is stupid. This isn't a #metoo thing. Vic didn't rape either of these idiots even if what they're saying is true. The worst things that happen to them is Vic kissing them/climbing on them briefly or being overly pushy about 'let's bang Kara c'mon' and then being catty later. And this isn't them taking HIM to court and being forced to relive things. This is A DEFAMATION CASE. They aren't being brave. They talked crap and now they're getting hit. If they were at all telling the truth this wouldn't be a news story, they'd just slap him down with a TCPA and move on as he steamed helplessly.

A final thought I have to wonder about. Nick has made it clear that there's supporters in hiding either to avoid harassment (like apparently Stan now being called a rapist) or because Sabat will have them fired (like he threatened with Todd), but how long until they move this to the Trump hysteria, where the VAs aren't allowed to be quiet? Where they will be forced to speak out against Vic to 'show solidarity' or be fired/attacked because their silence implies they're for Vic?

This is actually one of the primary reasons I've been watching this like a hawk, that and the penetration of #meetwo from the Twitter rage mobs into the legal space. This is potentially a larger flash point for lolcows than it would have originally seemed. My main hope is that, at least, this keeps going into the general election cycle where people are forced to out chimp each other or die in a massive retard tontine.

Honestly, I think any action Funi takes is probably going to hurt them, both in the short and the long term. Since ultimately they either: a) fired a popular actor on dodgy pretenses or b) protected a popular actor for years before finally doing anything, the only result once Vic's out of the spotlight is bad PR for them and a probable loss of a good chunk of money. Sony will likely do some house-cleaning to save face regardless of outcome.

What I'm saying is that doubling down might not be a smart move for them, but I'm not sure if there are any smart moves left. I mean, I suppose from a practical standpoint for the execs, dragging out the court case as long as possible might be good, since they're unlikely to get fired while the lawsuit is still ongoing. Maybe that's their strategy?

Popping in again for just a sec.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I didn't see it, and it's too funny.

Thotwhore somehow thinks it's a brilliant idea to link directly to Null's thread with the ESA dox.

Aside from being salty AF, does she really think the gaming press is what's finally gonna take down the farms?

It took someone calling bomb threats to get it taken down for a few weeks, and Null’s only gotten more careful since then.

If there's anything I've learned between convention work, dating and watching this blimp implode...

DO NOT FUCK COSPLAYERS/VOICE ACTORS

Remember the rule:

1564931458263.png

I have become convinced that professional cosplayers are simply a subspecies of thot.

What? A hobby with a bunch of shy nerdy men with a shitload of disposable income and little to no experience with women? That's like a petri dish for thottery.

Yeah I'm sure there are occasional real cosplayers out there. But 98% of them are just thots who have found a specific species of paypig to target.

Take a look at the CosThot that got caused WOTC to go woke for broke when The Quartering said he didn't like costhots:

1564931746020.png
1564932436754.png

An exhibitionist targeting teenaged boys for attention, in a "cosplay" that is literally just a body stocking without underwear with some dye on it.

As Sargon said, Cosplay is Lingerie, and Professional Cosplayers are just Thots.

That's sad, I actually like her weeb songs.
