Are you actually fucking serious?
Are you shitting on my goddamn nuts?

It's a bland as fuck shirt with Blake and Adam just STANDING THERE with 'Lovers Quarrel' over their heads- This was all it took to turn those bumblebee shitheads into rabid motherfucking animals?

This, this goddamn shirt, this article of clothing... was what caused mass fucking hysteria and made @TheRTStore to make a public announcement saying: "W-We're sorry for being INSENSITIVE!"? Good to know they'll desperately try and appease the crazies but will fire Vic without a 2nd thought and still refuse to pay their goddamn animators.

So, how many Ls is this for Rooster Teeth in 2019? I'm not trying to advocate them getting a thread of their own, but the ways they've managed to piss off the fans who don't kiss their shoes and the ground they walk on, and the number of them, is just staggering.

Dare I ask what precisely is insensitive about it?

Even the con's seem to disregard contracts considering we've been hearing story's where con's allowed their staff to put Vic in different rooms than what was originally agreed upon while also failing to inform Vic that a panel may be longer then otherwise schedule.
This is the reason Van Halen started demanding a bowl of M&Ms with all the brown ones removed. It's a simple test that shows that the venue paid attention to the whole contract.

On one hand, I’ve never seen RWBY but judging by the post, something negative went down between two characters and from a certain view point, it would seem like the shirt is glamorizing/endorsing the negativity to the uninitiated.
On the other hand, these are shippers. It can be something as simple as “REEEEEE, not muh ship!!1!”. I’m inclined to believe the latter.

FUCK thats who it is. I had been wracking my brain when that was posted as to who this chucklefuck reminded me of. He looks like fuckin shchumer. Thank you Randomguy. (how aptly named)
Late and not gay because of Ddos attacks but your welcome. The fucking glasses were bugging the shit out me like a mosquito on a hot humid night in Texas.

Adam and Blake were in love at one point. They had a minor falling out, you know trying to kill each other nothing big. But people ship Blake with Yang anyways so anything even implying that there was love between Blake and Adam implies they endorse abuse

Disclaimer: It doesn't. It really fucking doesn't

Even if they do get a thread. That thread will die faster than the interest in the company itself. It's not worth giving them a thread if we are going to run with this year alone. I do recommend waiting for now since we could get some juicy material if Vic name drops them on round 2.

A little bit of both I'd say. Without going too much into the show proper, the long and short is that a shirt was made which had the word "lovers' quarrel" on it. People said that it was promoting an abusive relationship, while others have said that the "abusive relationship" was a mixture of bad writing and poorly handling the guy on the shirt. The store removed it, and those same people who complain about bad writing are saying they're pandering to the shippers of a ship between the girl on the shirt and another of the main characters.

Edit: Cougar'd with more info about the show and context.

If they were confident that he was a public figure, they wouldn’t be doing this.

There’s no other rational reason they’d be doing this.
Hi everyone! Just going to put my $.02 in here and brace for the BTFO...

There are a couple of rational reasons they would do this. Consider the optics here on just one of those reasons...

The biggest takeaway from the article was that the #metoo card got played (even if it wasn't theirs to play IMO) by the journalist on their behalf. If this journalist gets other #metoo journalists to write about it, it gets legs and spreads to other lamestream media (ANN/io9 types don't count). Thus, it gets to a wider audience. Wider audience means name recognition. Name recognition means the possibilities of him becoming a public figure (limited or otherwise) go up considerably.

Will it matter for this lolsuit? Nope. They've already lost this battle, and the legal eagles here have said it can't change that determination. If by sheer magic it does, then get those hats out boys and girls, and salt them up for the inevitable feasting on...

Will it matter for the possible future litigations (round 2, round 3, etc.)? I would tend to think so, but I could be wrong. Even better, I truly hope I'm wrong, because it could setup a nasty precedent going forward...

IANAL, but I welcome their response, and remember everyone: play nice!

Fair enough. I will say that there's a chance an argument could be made that their shit that they got themselves into would still happen even if they didn't fire Vic.

Thing is you are not wrong about making him more public, BUT this is all post lawsuit. If they had done this before the lawsuit, then it would work.

The quote "Lover's Quarrel" that was one the shirt. Because Adam (the dude) and Blake (the girl) were allegedly in a relationship that turned out abusive for her.

But in the RoosterTeeth's school of storytelling 'abusive relationship' is never conveyed visually, and only inferred in a worthless info dump.

Also, it doesn't help the fact that BumbleBY shippers (Blake and a blonde named Yang) are one of the loudest voices across the RWBY fandom, and they range from mildly autistic to Manjaw deranged

He honestly reminds me of Ryan Reynolds with the way he talks, his facial expressions, his body movements. Except he's a total douchebag.

Was wondering why I got gay black top hat reactions on this.

I obviously wasn't talking about Ty but Doucette. My god, please don't misinterpet that.

Wait, I thought that the “the relationship was abusive” was only from a tweet by Blake’s VA.

You know, that reminds me of all the blogger's circlejerks to give themselves "Sources" for their libelous articles so that they can be quoted on Wikipedia.

It'd be a miracle if this is the drop that overflows the bucket and kills that circlejerk, but a man can dream...

Wait, I thought that the “the relationship was abusive” was only from a tweet by Blake’s VA.

The VAs kept on drilling this point on the RWBY panels, Arryn being the one who keeps saying this over and over. Hell, as of late even Garret Hunter (Adam's VA) has said that 'Adam was born evil, and nothing could change that'

Also, there's a good chance that if you follow RWBY, you may end up hating Arryn Zech and Barbara Dunkleman (Blake and Yang's VAs)

So, pretty damning stuff for Rial/Toye/Marchi's defense here.

Considering Denbow's investigation only investigated claims that Rial made, or Rial brought forward on behalf of others, and the social media firestorm they reference later in the affidavits all include statements made by Rial and Marchi.

Not to mention, Funi admits to breaking their own contract obligations by terminating him via telephone, and not in writing as stated in the contract.

Lots of shell games being played, and Law Twits/KVs are celebrating this filing

With all the information that's coming out, the pieces seem to be coming together a bit. Seems like Rial manipulated Sony and Funimation into firing Vic.
  • The VP of Operations gets wind of negative press surrounding Vic (presumably the ANN article and whatever before that in June)
  • They contacted Sony to conduct an investigation shortly after that
  • Monica comes along and brings three people she knows personally (they didn't come in their own will; she even said she talked to them before the investigation)
    • One of them not only worked at Funimation but worked at the same hairdresser Rial does stuff at (?)
    • Two twins who were cosplayers who went to conventions
      • Both of them lived at Rial and La Choy's house
      • One of them worked at the Tuttle Group
  • Monica tells Funimation about the Izumicon allegation
  • She doesn't tell Sony about the Izumicon allegation
    • I presume it's because Sony would contact Stan Dahlin, who would have said exactly what he said in his affidavit.
  • Sony deems the allegations as credible.
  • Sony tells this to Funimation.
    • I presume that Funimation was never told what exactly the allegations were that were investigated, since the Sony investigation was "confidential".
  • Funimation lets Vic go.
  • Since the "investigation", it now enabled people to say anything about him.
The question I have is who exactly made the VP of Operations aware of the negative attention? Was it the person who runs the social media account? Or someone else?

Also, more from Stan Dahlin:

This is why progressives are fucking r.etarded.

I thought the whole shtick of sexuality was that you were born homosexual or heterosexual or insertstupidshit-sexual. You can't encourage lesbianism if the girl born doesn't have at least some attraction to women.

Unless I was absolutely wrong and that you could actually change your sexuality when you want. Because tthat hat's what La Choy is saying.

No wonder this bitch isn't married to Rial. He doesn't want to produce children that could potentially be boys. Nevermind that he's engaged to a woman.

Assuming this tweet is real. Hopefully an archive exists of that La Choy tweet.
