So....who would they get to voice Ratigan since Vincent Price is in Horror Movie Icon Heaven? Jeremy irons has shown he can ham it up as a villain and he's British. Willem Dafoe might be able to pull it off and he's done tons of voice acting... What's David Warner doing these days?
I like the setting and premise of the movie enough that I might just watch it. They can't wokeify it too much since most of the characters are animals. I do wonder how they're going to portray the whole rats/ mice dichotomy. In the original movie, rats were portrayed as being inherently savage and low class, whereas the mice were more civilized and upper class. That sounds pretty speciesist, and I really don't think Disney is aware of the can of worms its opening by doing this remake. The climax literally has the villain casting off his civillized exterior and reverting to his savage, brutish natural state after Basil thwarts his plans. They may be able to portray it as merely a class issue, but it does seem that in the world of the film, what genes you have determine what side of the civillized/savage line you're on.
