If that wound has already got infected, it should not be resutured. The surrounding tissue is too friable to take suture anyway.
The troon can expect a beautiful bloom of granulation tissue, if not more.

My guess is a general doctor who can prescribe a fuckton of antibiotics and pain meds because, really, that's all you can do since the whole point is to prevent healing to keep it open.
I wonder how many ER staff have to deal with the complications and if they go home and drink themselves to sleep afterwards.
