Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

You have to defeat each version of their stories. Otherwise they win. Duh. :cunningpepe:

You can tell we're dealing with alpha-weebs on the other side. "THIS ISN'T EVEN MY BULLSHIT'S FINAL FORM!"

Dominique Skank keeps saying this. Since she's apparently buddies with the rest of the whale pod I'm going to assume that they've told her Vic won't be coming back.

It's more telling that this is where their mindset is at.

"Well, at least we destroyed him. Even if he wins this he's not coming back to Funi or RT, and other studios (since we'll be whisper networking them) won't hire him either."

By this logic wouldn't Monica, Jamie and any other harpy involved in this be unemployable as well for fear they'll #MeToo someone?

Spoiler alert: As Nick and Ty mentioned on stream last night, the SECOND they can, Funimation is firing Monica, Jamie, their Social Media guy, and probably a few others. They won't do it during the lawsuit (as doing so would harm them by admitting wrongdoing), but expect some MAJOR chimpouts in the future about that. 6th Bulma!

(Sony themselves are going to purge Funimation, as discussed before. They already have a localization studio -- Aniplex. Thanks to this lawsuit, every single person at Funimation made themselves not only redundant, but a liability.)

Well, here’s the thing: RWBY has always had a black and white morality and they’ve seemed to stick to that path. This past Volume, they had this cartoony over the top chick named Cordovin (though imo that was kind the point). If she’s any indication, they’ll probably make a new character that might represent ICE and border agents separating kids from their parents, the left’s new pet crusade so Ironwood and Winter are the only good people in the military. As for Atlas in general, if they don’t demonize Trump, they’ll demonize the one percent like what happened in Volume 4. After all, we’re dealing with a fanbase that grew up through the financial crisis and Occupy Wall Street.

Atlas already has a two tier class system. Quite literally as Atlas hovers above Mantle. They already showed how screwed up things are when Adam took off his mask and revealed a brand with "S.D.C" (Schnee Dust Company).

Why the hell do they have a branding iron ready for use.

I get the vibe that Winter will follow Ironwood anywhere. And Ironwood was paranoid, being especially touchy about Cinder infiltrating the CCT tower and losing his ships. I doubt that they'll have to create a new character for worrying about security.

He really did come off as some righteous wistleblower who had only Monty's best interests in mind. That's what makes him untrustworthy to me. There were a few spergy RWBY fans who ate it up, the kind that make 2 hour rant videos complaining about specific frames of animation as though Monty's stuff was flawless.

I'm pretty sure Shane even admitted in his own letter that he was hard to work with and couldn't keep up with the new work setup since they got a larger office. That just sounds like someone not worth keeping on. Especially since he only got a job there because Monty wanted him there.

Those spergy fans that make two hour videos is the reason I'm reluctant to talk about RWBY.

It's like Rooster Teeth, and RWBY in particular, got all the people who were too autistic for Tumblr, 4chan and Reddit.

It would appear though @EriMin has to follow in the footsteps of Stan Dahlin and start sharing some fun con stories of her own.

Let the shit posting begin.

Now I'm not saying that Newville was a case of "Cyclops was Right" type of shit, and even mention that he was biased as fuck but maybe just maybe there was something of truth in his words, despite the letter being too much of placing Monty on a pedestal.

Interestingly, the supporters of Newville included Sheena Oum (With her own Lolcow Thread), and Kathleen Zuelch.

I'm betting my money on Papa Schnee with even a "Make Atlas Great Again" line somewhere down the line, but Ironwood is just as close.

I will give Shane the nepotism and clique culture. But it sounded like if Shane was running the show, he would have done the volumes without editing Monty's notes. "Monty's will be done!"

Monty was wildly creative but I think he and CRWBY vastly overestimated how much could be done in a volume. And Shane would have just went with it.

Jaques will probably be in jail for formenting a revolt.

Jesus, we're going into Buddy Bears territory, aren't we?

I'm not kidding. Saturday morning cartoon writer Mark Evanier had to deal with exactly this sort of message on quite a few shows he worked on, to the point where he satirized the shit out of it on Garfield and Friends.

AND WE'RE STILL SEEING IT USED UNIRONICALLY IN CURRENT YEAR!

Welp. Gotta Google that.

That's why I'm rooting for Vic to follow Bailey,Willingham,Baker and others into western voice acting * for better pay * and leave these bitter children behind to fight over peanuts in a niche industry.

Really Funimation is only still around for two reasons:

Legacy/brand: It along with 4Kids was many people's gateway into anime during the 90s-2000s anime boom.

It's a way for Sony to sell anime to poorfags while Aniplex serves as their "premium" brand.

HerDipshit doesn't have the IQ or stones to realize that Nick ain't the head honcho of the Farms and that we aren't a political organization as stated on the guidelines. So her argument is invalid.

As for Reborn, good on Reborn. One minor mistake. The Farms have done dox predators and pedos in non-Weeb Wars subsections.

Cockminique Sleeve still trying to compensate her lack of brain cells shilling Rial Lewinsky and Blamey Harpy as usual.

Mari is in a weird spot. She's caught in a pincer between ISWV and KV. She wants no drama. But she can be the catalyst for all this if she spills the beans. She's also not playing ball by avoiding Assburgers News Network because she wants nothing to do with anime or Macross to focus on her passion for music. At the same time, gotta love how she's giving them a rash of shit by refusing to answer those corrupt nepotism laiden fucks.
I don't really understand this train of thought.

Be a boss, tell these people to fuck off, and give your side of the story. The truth is the truth. Don't let the shrieking harpies intimidate you.

What has been found in that time was her tearing her back out helping a friend move, and screwing up her knee tripping over a cord at a con. It's possible that she tripped trying to carry a projector, as she doesn't say, but there's no indication that Vic was involved, or that it wasn't simply someone above her paygrade authorizing something she didn't like. Still, it hasn't been disproven in a conclusive way, unlike most accusations. Jennifer's own comments make it entirely possible that a (real) member of the staff could have re-allocated the projector, because almost no one went into the AMV theater room most of the time.
falsus in unum, falsus in omnibus, I'd say. (false in one, false in all for pretentious twats)

Someone actually posed this scenario a few pages back; Vic has the talent to make the full leap into Western animation and triple AAA title video games like Troy Baker or Travis Willingham.
The only reason he even bothers with anime dubbing is because he seems to be a genuine fan of the medium. Sadly, look where that landed him...

It'll certainly help if Vic wins and assigns a cost to it.
At the very least, it's gonna be a big hit to the perpetually offended for profit' crowd. I really think people will look back at cases like this, Zak and the Quartering as instrumental with helping turn the tide. Then of course, Oberlin college's case as well.

Also, it offered official One Piece uncut after years of 4Kids fuckery. As for Aniplex, they had Gurren Lagann, Madoka Magica, And Sword Art Online. Is it premium because it’s the closest to mainstream non Ghibli anime can get?

Aniplex is the one charging Japan prices * hundreds of dollars * for big boxsets with goodies.

Hence why I called them "premium" compared to Funi who regularly releases cheap boxsets of it's best selling titles.
