A question to think about:

Knowing that Phil is the type of person to lie about being in a relationship, getting married and owning a cat - all while pleading for donations - would Phil be the type of person to lie about needing money just so he can build a nest egg for retirement?

This is the same man that thought a "rainy day fund" is money you save when your plans get cancelled (due to rain).

This is the same man currently paying for two homes and would rather let one foreclose than rent it out.

There's no way he has a secret retirement fund stashed anywhere. All money he gets is spent immediately.

Just watched some older Almighty Tevin stream. During it Phil semi slipped up but later said he had thousands saved, and that he isn't short on money as much as he is short on disposable income.
The more I think about it, I believe this is actually how it is. He sees not having as much throw around money as he wants to as being broke.
This would also explain things like the time he said he had no money to pay his bills, then blasted someone on twitter who said he was broke, claiming that he never said he was broke. This is also exactly the kind of semantics Phil loves. His account is overdrawn to pay bills. But that's just ONE of his accounts, the other has thousands. It's just not the bill account, so that was still true.

Hypothetically, he could be trying to pay off all of his bills, debts and taxes every month based just off of his Twitch earnings, and funneling his YT income and Patreon income into a retirement savings account. That's why he rails hard on tips, and why he pretends he makes no money on YT until his channel got demonetized. It doesn't matter month-to-month, but that money will matter in the long run.

I'm still not sold on this though, just based on the number of sheer stupid financial decisions he has made that we know of, from paying for the move, to moving very little and buying all new stuff, to paying off credit cards with credit cards, to not wanting to pay for the CT condo and letting payments lapse... I'm not sure he could be stupid enough to make those decisions, yet smart enough to have been secretly hoarding for retirement for years. The lying is entirely plausible, but it is undermined by the documented dumb.

The way I look at it is people think he’s some scheming mastermind but really he’s an idiot who manages to swindle people at every opportunity. I’m sure he pays the bills with twitch/YouTube/patreon money. And his begging money is for the luxurious lifestyle he thinks he can live. So he’s not as broke as he claims to be but he’s also doesn’t have an offshore bank account in the Cayman Islands. Dude can barely do simple math like addition

DSP isn't broke or struggling because of money he spends now. Sure he could cut back and become less stressed out, but the real problem is that he spent other people's money in order to live like a prince and now he has to pay them back.

This is why I have no sympathy when he says he doesn't have money to do fun shit. He doesn't have money to do fun shit because he already spent it doing other fun shit. He* just too literally weetawded to understand that.

* and some of his paypigs/whales

A few thoughts from Phil's Mixer rant on prestream (which he then used as a means to launch into his victim story about detractors taking away his shill stream opportunities). This rant was laden with all kinds of weird contradictions and busted logic. Wall of text incoming.

1. Phil commented that people are now bitching and leaving Twitch after Ninja left and that he 'isn't surprised'. Obviously this insinuates that the nudnik sheep are just following Ninja and Phil saw this stupid behavior coming. In fact, this is not what Phil previously said. Phil insisted Ninja took the paycheck and it was a stupid long term move because he would lose the large audience he built on Twitch, and that nobody has a good reason to leave a lucrative platform like Twitch. Now that the move hasn't failed and may be snowballing, Phil tweaks his stance so that he can frame it as though he read the situation correctly from the start. He didn't.

2. Phil focused on the complaints that women are protected on Twitch. This is a narrow sample of the complaints being thrown at Twitch, but I also find it odd that he would choose this particular issue because it is something that HE previously shit on Twitch for himself, having complained about 'titty streamers'. In fact, he quoted his own statement that they exploit horny teenagers, but framed it as though that was what everyone else was saying. But he then claimed he didn't have an opinion on this at all. Way to take a stand there, King of Hate, No Bullshit Phil. Criticize Twitch by quoting 'other people', then throw up your hands and say "BUT I DUNNO".

3. Phil claimed that when he initially left Twitch, it was because of the low bit rate and limited monetization options. He then half walked this back, saying that there was no way to make money outside of subscriptions, and "WE" didn't know that "interactive streaming" could be so good. First of all, Phil expressly shit on Twitch for having subs and custom emotes after he left, and stated that these features took away from the focus on gaming and streamers who pushed them were shills. He also left Twitch when it started to really boom. So there was no "we" not realizing how effective interaction with an audience was... that was just a Phil problem. And he was shitting on people for doing it.

4. Phil claims that he believes Mixer is good as competition for Twitch, and he hopes it does grow so that it will also push Twitch to improve to compete. Phil did say this before, but some time after Ninja's move. He previously described Mixer as pointless, no competition for Twitch, and flatly said people only go there if they were banned off of Twitch (in a presumed dig at Tevin).

5. Phil said that he has seen "no valid arguments" thrown at Twitch, people are just following Ninja, and that if they want to go, they should just go. Meanwhile, the only confirmed conversation that we have seen Phil have with someone about the complaints with Twitch was with Brian on twitter, WHOM HE ASKED WHAT PEOPLE WERE SAYING ABOUT TWITCH. Brian specifically noted rampant e-begging as a problem, which Phil curiously did not address. So basically, Phil's comment is a dig at Brian, saying he has no valid complaints about Twitch, since this is possibly the only conversation he has had about Twitch. It's also odd that his 'just leave' comment comes on the heels of Brian laughing about the Jasper reveal. Phil is probably angry and being a passive aggressive bitch.

Overall, this is going to be hilarious if he gets the boot off Twitch and has to stream on Mixer under Dar1cSiyddePh1i1andJasper because people had the foresight to camp his names while he, again, refused to even consider a backup plan. I guarantee, he will say that his ban on Twitch was unjust, that he was saying from the start that their rules were authoritarian, and that he threatened to leave and they kept telling him that they loved his streams and they would treat him fairly if he just stayed. But they betrayed him. Just like fucking Rambo.

Quite frankly, if DSP is letting his bank account get overdrawn every month (at $35/transaction) and letting the CT condo foreclose, and has five-figure credit card debt, then putting aside money for retirement would be the stupid move at this point. He would be better off financially paying down at least one credit card and setting all the autopays to that so that his bank account stops getting overdrawn, then figuring out a way to sell and/or rent his CT condo in the middle of the "ghetto." Maybe actually answer a phone call and not disqualify a property management company for "refusing to listen to him" and calling instead of emailing.

As an aside, that was one of my favorite parts about his Fired from Machinima rant: he received his termination notice from the support agent "against his wishes" since DSP said he didn't want to talk to the agent anymore, like it fucking mattered who he received the termination email from.

My guess is kat told him he needs to eat better and to stop doing DSP tries it. When you consider that doing a live stream dsp tries it, he’d make a bunch of money from it and the paypigs would eat it up. But we all know Phil likes to be lazy, do the bare minimum and he has to do what kat says. Besides he’s on this weird boomer kicker that he’s a mature adult and not a clown or a children’s entertainer
And he’s probably too lazy to order the food/go out and get the food himself. Its weird how he bases dsp tries it on ad revenue from Yt. He said recently that’s how he decides what older games to play, “if they got claimed on YouTube”. But then he bases if people like the game off tips and ignores bits completely

Was it 2018 or 2019 where DSP went on a 5 minute rant during his Microsoft E3 stream recap because they "wasted his time" talking about Mixer since "nobody cares about Mixer; it will never be as good as Twitch." Feels like that was this year.

He'd justify it as well like he did withholding the cat reveal, suggesting that people would not have been as generous had he been upfront about it.
Every time I wonder if dark has just been playing this long con and building a retirement fund I’m reminded how much of a baby he is. I have no doubt in my mind he would cut back on how much he streams.

I know it’s a meme he exaggerates how many hours a day he streams and shit but he is at least on stream in some regard for a good chunk of each day. His lazy ass would not be streaming 6 days for a majority of the day unless he had to. At the very least if he was more financially stable he’d give himself two days off.

Although I don’t doubt the theory he’s recklessly funneling most of the money he makes into his debt, which would explain why he doesn’t give himself more time off to lay around the house

Derich had a driving test today. He 'aced signs' but did poorly on everything else.
Phil said that happened with him as well. I'm not sure if that was supposed to be comforting. Maybe encourage Derich to get glasses! Like you, Phil.
There are also lots of mosquitoes where Derich is. There used to be a lot of mosquitoes when Phil lived in the Ghettos of CT. There are fewer in Washington. I'm not sure if that was supposed to be comforting.
Phil really cares about you, Derich.

He also recapped that he will play Gears of War and Blair Witch because they are offered with Microsoft Game Pass. That's a smart business move to save money, but buying Astral Chain, which people are actually asking for, would not be.

Did Phil not previously shit on Sea of Thieves for being included with Microsoft Game Pass, saying that it was bad and nobody would have bought it otherwise?
Surely that isn't the case with THESE games though.

TAX UPDATE EDIT: Phil shit on someone that asked about his current tax situation ('nobody wants to hear about it except you, for some reason'), but he half answered.

The payment plan began in May, and so far it has been 'going fine'. However, regarding 'this year' he has not been able to 'afford any of them yet'. I'm not great at keeping tack of what taxes he is even referring to anymore. Does that mean he is on a payment play for his past taxes, but is not paying this year's taxes?

Ok, that one made me laugh. Did he really or are you being hyperbolic??
He said that, almost verbatim, repeatedly. And when people corrected him, he said they were idiots. And when he was overwhelmingly corrected, he said either the definition had changed, or he had been taught wrong in school. Presumably in his business program at college. It was... something...

If Phil did have some money saved up in the bank, I'm going to assume it's in an emergency "I'm banned from Twitch and need to survive for the next few weeks until I can find a new way to fleece my fans" account. There's no way he's saving up for retirement. This is a man who had retirement money from his job at Sikorsky and he just took it all out, eating a penalty, to pay his bills during a "slow" month. He isn't really forward-thinking enough when it comes to his financial security. Long term begging? Oh yeah, he can plan way in advance for that, he did hide his engagement for 5 months and a cat for 9 months for maximum begging potential. Spending less money? Cutting costs? Moving to a more affordable residence? Selling the stuff in his nook at prices lower than he's asking? NO! He simply will not give up any part of his selfish lifestyle. You're right, though, he's "working" 6 days a week because he needs the money. With how much he absolutely hates his job, you'd think he would take more days off just to give himself a break. During Phil's camcorder days, he would regularly play a game all day, 12+ hours, so he had footage saved up for the next 3-4 days so he could still upload to YouTube (and more importantly, make money) and take time off, which is something he can't do as a streamer.

The payment plan is for the 2018 federal taxes. His 2018 state taxes would have been by the end of January 2019 and would have been like $1500, so pretty easily dumped on a credit card. Same for the 2019 state taxes (not due until Jan 2020). So he's talking about the quarterly estimated taxes he's supposed to be paying (https://www.taxdebthelp.com/business/estimated-quarterly-taxes). The 3rd payment is coming up in the middle of September. Thing is, since he's on a payment plan with the IRS already, unless he pays everything off, I don't think he can get on another payment plan. Maybe @SoapQueen1 or @marlintan can refresh our memories on all of that.

Something i look forward to @Joon The King and keep fighting!
