I personally find the key to a good Nanaimo Bar is richness not sweetness. I had one once where the chocolate was mil.k instead of semi-sweet, the middle was pure icing and the base was loaded with sugar and I couldn't finish it. Obviously it's a sweet dessert but overdoing it ruins the experience. I think I have a recipe somewhere I'll see if I can dig up after work.

"Most publications are government funded"??? The RCMP won't lift a finger without the CBC publishing something? Let me guess, you're a yank? Where the fuck do you get your misguided info from?

The CBC is the only government-funded media (and even then, it's only partially-funded with taxpayer money). The rest is all privately-controlled by just a handful of media moguls. They also give plenty of black-eyes to the RCMP when warranted.

A lot of people here seem to take sources like Breitbart literally instead of as the entertainment media that it is. Like that dope @Rogal Dorn who was convinced that some guy who suffered a home invasion was arrested on weapons charges due to the gun he swiped from his captors. Never mind that it was actually because he had his own illegal rifle, illegal extended magazines, and he let loose a flurry of bullets randomly outside his house with said illegal gun as the invaders fled. (Also he was only sentenced to time served while in house arrest).

Seriously, when most people hear about Canada they seem to take these junk stories from junk sources at face value. Apparently they are all gay liberal commies who go to union rallies in the morning and confiscate guns at half-past Kraft Dinner Hour.

Most of Canada's problems stem from Pierre Trudeau and his Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

He made bilingualism and hate speech the law. The bureaucracy and legal system is clogged with trendy middle class people from Montreal and every lawyer is basically socjus.
It's not the charter, it's all the fucked up shit that provinces have added on top. Such as these fucked up kangaroo court tribunals. Personally, I like the fact that someone put into law that I have the freedom of association or the right not to be arbitrarily detained by the state. There is nothing wrong with the charter. It's the equivalent of American constitutional rights. Have you even read it?

Have you read it? All of my critiques are in the document.

Yes, I have read it and I stand by my statement. We are all more free for the rights within enshrined into law and I don't think you're being at all reasonable by claiming the entire charter is bullshit. The parts you complain about aren't even themselves a problem. People should have the same rights as everyone else regardless of race, sexual orientation, disability, etc. There is nothing wrong with that it's when you start adding massively unfair punishments after Kafkaesque trials that it becomes a problem. But any laws could become a problem when you do fucked up shit like that.

Do you really believe this, in itself, is a problem?

This thread is making me wish that I didn’t lose my old camera from when I travelled all over Alberta- I had a lot of pictures I took of Jasper’s wildlife.

Honestly, if any of you are ever interested in visiting LeafLand, I suggest going to Jasper if you’re wishing to get a better feel for Canada.

I also recommend going to Fort Edmonton- when I was there last they had a vintage style train that you could ride in. Not sure if it’s still operating since it’s been 15 years.

Visit the trading post if you get a chance- it’s really fascinating.

I also suggest checking out the Fort Edmonton Park.

Honestly, Canada is fucking beautiful all across the country. I wouldn't say Jasper will necessarily give you a better view of Canada only because it's but one of the stunning environments here. The ancient redwood forests in BC, the lakes in Ontario, the Maritimes are something else and the culture and food in Quebec are not to be missed. There's the plains and the Rockies, I recommend them all.

Honestly, I haven't visit all of this country myself but of the places I've been, I swear to god I've never in my life met nicer people than I have in Halifax. I don't know what they've got in the water over there but if you ever get a chance to visit Halifax, you definitely should.

Does Canada provide free or heavily funded(like only a small copay is needed) therapy for sexual assault victims?

Some countries (more likely charities) for possible (as I non offending minor attracted persons why can't they call themselves non offending pedoiphilas I don't know 🤮🤧🤮🎩) offenders and also offenders(under court order and sometimes not)?

No canuck is going to tell you that all media is government funded because it's patently untrue. So where you really getting your misguided info? Or are you just assuming?

Look - there's plenty wrong here. But to assume we don't have guns, the media is state-controlled, we have death-lists for healthcare (or whatever fucked-up lies you're being fed this week), and that the RCMP are just rural police are all bat-shit crazy FUD.

The RCMP are cucked by the crown prosecutor's office. They also have internal issues with some of their top-brass. Can tell you for a fact that no officer - especially in the RCMP - would have condoned Yaniv possessing a prohibited weapon. RCMP members are "posted" and said "postings" are randomly moved around to prevent members from forming those type of relationships with civvies. Also, members that get found out for that kinda shit get their posting moved to somewhere undesirable. You know, like the great white north. Where food gets flown in once a month.

As for the media - the mainstream media is all left-leaning. It sucks, there's no Fox-equivalent here.

The RCMP top brass aren't even police anymore, they're outright politicians, only, they are unelected and unaccountable.

Talk therapy is generally not funded. I mean that you may get referred to a social worker who will be so overworked that you will be limited to three to six sessions until you're on your own. So not enough time to even bother. There is a large therapy market outside of the covered medical scraps though we're talking $100/hr kinds of unaffordable

I remember some family from the states came to visit. Making her coffee in the morning the relative couldn't find the m.ilk in the fridge. She was horrified when I showed her this:

I am surprised regional markets in the US, (like San Francisco), haven't taken this idea.

Bagged dairy for the consumer market isn't common at all in BC anymore. It used to be a thing - but I haven't seen it since the 80's. There are commercial-sized (10/20 litre) bags available from wholesalers, but not the 2 litre bags. I believe this packaging is mostly restricted to the eastern/maritime these days.
