this is true, we rely on many constructs and shared fictions -- for example, the US dollar has value because the Federal Reserve says so. but in practice, the 'social construct' label tends to be used in a very opportunistic, inconsistent manner, usually to further a particular ideology.Take the sperging one step further to ask “So what if it is a social construct?!” Dismissing anything because it is that, even if it uncovers a truth of some sort, doesn’t address the fact that the world largely operates on these so-called constructs that have real-life consequences, even if they reside in a collective consciousness rather than a materialistic reality. It is then still a meaningful construct.
