Got a credible source for that? The more I look into it, the more I become convinced this was just an act of stupidity rather than getting burned by fetish fuel.

Well, he absolutely lost his hands, that much is for sure, and doesn't seem that broken up about it. (Edit: Correction, he didn't at first.)
As for how it hasn't been discussed publically as far as I can tell, but he's flat out denied that it was intentional.

Whatever happened, for it to affect both hands from the wrist on either has to have been intentional or some kind of crushing accident involving his hands, since it's doubtful he accidentally got frostbite on both hands in the middle of summer in Nevada.

Seems a lot of people are echoing an apparent comment he made (that I can't find) where he was icing his hands with dry ice to deal with arthritis, then fell asleep. I find this hard to believe, especially that it was done with two hands at the same time, in a way that led to so much damage they had to be amputated.
He either used way too much ice all at once (that shit evaporates at room temperature) or he did something stupid along with using dry ice in the fucking first place.

Since I bailed out of the server once I started posting about what was going on to protect myself, I didn't see this go down, and frankly, I'm not sure if the server still exists. I never bought the claim that it was an accident because of how the cold burns looked like they were dunked in rather than attached to his hands. That said, I never saw any evidence to say that it was for a fetish. The way the claims that it all was done to get cybernetic paws felt like misinformation because the only place I saw saying that shit was some retard commenting trying to cheer him up.

All I can say is that it sure as hell looks like it was intentional given the wounds, amount of time they were inflicted over, and the end result, but I can’t say why he did it with any amount of certainty.
