Ok, joking aside, can someone explain to me the whole "stalking on a blog site" thing? I know it happens elsewhere, but constant bitching about it seems endemic to tumblr and I think I misunderstand the idea. I was under the impression tumblr was a sort of blogging site, ergo the information you put up is posted with the implied understanding that it is available for public viewing. This seems different from other kinds of online or IRL stalking. To me, someone evading blocks to monitor you on Facebook (not as big a thing anymore, but run with it), calling your phone, following you around in public? That's stalking and it's creepy. Someone following your blog? Not so much. I get that it can be done with malicious intent. I get that, in Vade's case, such intent is probably in the majority. But Tumblr isn't like Facebook, which is aimed at interacting with people you know IRL. It's a blog. You publish stuff for anyone to see. If you don't want it public, you should not publicize it.
I'm serious, I don't get it. It seems to me like the equivalent of an author claiming a longtime critic of their work is stalking them by reading their books.

Also seconding @Ace_Reloaded. These people aren't looking for explanations--just pity. They do nothing about any mental issues they may have, and...honestly it's kind of offensive to those of us with actual mental illnesses that we try so fucking hard to cope with.

I'd LOVE to not be bipolar. It's not a cute little quirk--it makes my life hell a lot of the time. I came very close to attempting suicide a few weeks back because I just felt absolutely hopeless, and these pricks are using shit like that as a fucking accessory. And I'm not convinced that's exactly harmless to actual mentally ill people.

...Also, is it just me, or has Vade's art gotten worse? It used to be...well, not good, but passable (if generic), but the bruise/pinkeye pic is just undeniably crappy.

EDIT: Shit, my birthday is on the 18th. PLEASE tell me Vade's isn't. :(

Yeah, you can call me that. :v

Pssh Vade's art was never great tbh. Just more of the same generic furry shit you see. Like of the many things that drive me up the wall about the furry fandom, it's the generic artwork that so many people default to which is cutesy, oversaturated crud with no actual personal style. But I suppose that's less of an actual fault on their part (other than being a bad artist) and more of a taste thing on mine.

Like I think it was Jaimas that said before that Vade is better than Tom Preston. Even though I dislike Dobbles, he would actually be a pretty good artist had he put effort into it and not backslid after getting his degree. The thing that's wrong with him (in regards to his art, of course because he's a massive prick) is laziness/complacency - he does have technical skill.

That and if he quit with the shitty inflation fetish art, Dobson could improve. Vade on the other hand, really not sure tbh.

I mean he could still keep up with fetish art if it really floats his boat but he needs to stop bein so outstandingly lazy in the way he does it.

And Vade has the full potential to improve, not just in art but in life as a whole. They just prefer to bellyache and play the victim instead of doing anything productive, as we've established. Seriously though with enough practice I am pretty sure anyone could do well with art, it's just down to whether or not it interests you enough to make all the effort worth your while.
