I'm seriously wondering what the hell Sabat said on a recording. Nick did seem to imply tomorrow's stream would be very relive to him. Unless Nick is just referring to him being the turd wrangler in charge of these speds.

It's not so much about the exact content from the audio. It's more that it's homophobic and something that Funimation allowed to occur, apparently didn't discipline anyone over and decided to keep around as a momento (along with apparently "worse" audio). None of that is good for Funimations case or public/Toei optics of them.
Wasn't there a VA that got into trouble over an answering machine recording?T H I S
This is why the recording is bad. Because Sean saying offensive stuff WHILE IN CHARACTER may be breaching a contract that Toei specifically made them sign to keep them from doing that and Funimation can get in trouble for allowing it to happen because Toei is SUPER protective of their DBZ IP and they want absolutely NOTHING tarnishing it.

YES.Wasn't there a VA that got into trouble over an answering machine recording?
I wouldn't say it's entirely nothing. I imagine after tomorrow, if there is much worse than this as Nick claims, that it can proverbially be a firestarter within the KV echo-chambers. It's really a matter of whether their mental gymnastics will allow them to ignore things that conflict with their "morals".It's a pile of nothing but the company probably has a stance about saying stuff like that at work, especially being recorded while in the booth.
Well the big question that I have right now is: Did funimation know about these recordings? Or was this just some guys fucking around on some audio equipment off hours? I'm mostly feeling blue balled with this stream and because of the build up. This was just a funny little leak, I was expecting some fucking corporate espionage, and I saw other people expecting audio regarding underaged fans. not worth the boomering and superchats to be honest. could have sat this one out.
Toei and Funi are not going to like the fact that a voice of Goku has, in a very recognizable Goku voice, made homophobic slurs in an era of ultra-wokeness.
My bet is there's an unemployed Goku tomorrow.
I think I saw a twitter user quote. "Practice what you Preach." Yeah. That's something these dipshits can't do.While I agree, I don't think it's that deep. It's literally just giving them a taste of their own medicine, to show them how exceptional this is. No one in their right mind would argue that Schemmel is actually homophobic, but he, and the other VAs, are not as squeaky clean and incapable of wrong-think as they enjoy pedaling.

Again, like I've also been telling people who apparently don't know how to fucking pay attention: wait until tomorrow's stream before passing judgement about whether it was juicy enough.I understand the implications of Schemmel's actions and yes, he's an enormous faggot. But this was fairly milked and not nearly as substantial once you take a look at the revelations of Soye and Sabat.
