ADV/random D-list company wasn't much better. Uncensored violence was nice, but voice acting that ranged from Legend of Dragoon/Shining Force III to a shittier Symphony of the Night proves dubs always sucked in the 90s. You either got uncensored but with PS1 voice acting or decent/good acting but the localizers sodomized the source material with a cactus.

Its a good thing modern dubs evolved past that, but they feel phoned in. I'm ready for the autistics, but anyone who thinks all dubs are queens because the really bad localizers are dead should be ridiculed as much as the 4kids One Pieces of the world.

While there are some dubs I like and I prefer them for normies I share some with, I by and far prefer subs. Though sometimes you get...... subs like SMC from 9anime.

It's the same mechanism that a few hundred psychos use to convince a company that the whole world hates them over some unknown game dev or whatever. It doesn't take a lot to game twitter, something like 20 percent of users create 80 percent of the tweets, and trending algorithms are tuned to that shit.

Y'know, that whole gay sex clip Sabat did is probably worse than I initially thought given how conservative Japan is and isn't really accepting of homosexuality like America is. They probably wouldn't like seeing some of their more iconic characters fagging it up like this officially. Hmm. I know a few Japanese blog and media sites that occasionally comment on American industry news, including the Vic case (mainly because he voiced Qrow and RWBY has a following in Japan and they watch it in English with Japanese subs) Maybe I can nudge this in on some of those sites.

@JosephTX man ( I am really far behind here, working my way through). You are a brave soul, but also, don't let the 💩 touch you, sorry to see you go. In situations like these when a person like Toye, who is amidst of a lawsuit and fairly known/willing to manipulate matters to get their way or a way out, you are most likely going to fall under one or all of these categories:
  • A means to an end
  • Target for a cause
  • Their next victim
As a lesson to others reading: If you look at some of these messages there are many things he is inviting you to do that you should not ever, EVER, say yes to. Unless you want to be dragged in so far you may not be able to get out. He invites him to meet, twice. Asks to talk verbally on phone , glad you didn't. Cause that certainly would make keeping records harder. He also admits to owning weapons. Do not go to meet him. He would claim bad things to have you dragged in somehow. Cause it is how they work appearntly. Toye also attempts to sort of gain some positive points from Joseph by showing interest in cars. He is trying to make you comfortable, by shooting the shit and talking casually, so the chat will flow more freely and this can land you in trouble....if you fall for it.

The story Ron Toye is selling is that he took responsibility and changed. Grew up in abusive household etc. Points out a few things what ended up angering him. Notice how DIFFERENT they are from what actually got him the protective order. Very different. Red flag. Big ol' red flag. They are framed as things others, but especially men, would consider OK getting very upset over, such as cheating and loosing a child/lost possibility to become a father through abortion. Nevermind the fact she almost died. However there is not a mention of the death-threats, mention of beatings etc. Cause you can't get any sympathy points with that!

I am not privvy to their details. Although he is taking responsibility, the way he offers context implies that he still blames his surroundings rather than having accepted that his actions and then the consequences thereof, were the result of his own choices.
