There was one male-to-stillmalebutinadressnow troon that became a social media munchie in the traditional female pattern: needed forearm crutches and a wheelchair for his "EDS" and "POTS," port for IV fluids, rubbed his face to claim "allergic reactions," even claimed "premature menopause' as one of his many illnesses. Buddy, you have a dick and balls, there was no menses to pause. Between the internet calling him out constantly and his family telling him to quit his bullshit to his face, he couldn't take it and deleted his social media. As far as I know he's yet to resurface so I think he really did stop entirely, and I've wondered if he didn't just act like that because he thought it would make him seem more womanly or something insane like that.
I read a shit ton of journal articles/case studies about factitious disorder. The ones that feature males always point out how rare it is for a man to do this to himself solely for attention and how this complicates the real diagnosis. One I read recently was a guy taking huge doses of NSAIDs and codeine to induce GI bleeds, fecal impactions, and organ damage. Since he never asked for pain meds or a note to get out of work or any other thing that would benefit him, they took him at face value that he wasn't doing anything to hurt himself and only took the recommended doses of whatever NSAID (I think it was ibuprofen) to control his pain from the symptoms he was experiencing. This went on with repeated hospitalizations for like, weeks. Eventually a bunch of empty blister packs were found but in the mean time they tested him for everything from Crohn's to HIV to lupus trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
