Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

How do you debunk something with no specifics though?
Fair inquiry, but I mean about a lot of the same rigmarole you hear a bobjr or a Amanda Winn Lee parrot.

Statements like pedophilia, treatment of con staff, and other repetitious legends that perhaps can be deconstructed by pinning the major origin points that developed these stories. People parrot these points a lot--to such a degree that you could probably find a source where people developed the ideas from.

I don't think the hugging and kissing was what developed Vic into an apparent pedophile, because literally all of these voice actors do that. Legends like him inviting the three young girls to his room, debunking that is probable. The legends about him treating con staff poorly could also be properly detailed.

Something to actually contextualize and maybe dispel these talking points.

This is exactly why I think we need a thread about debunking accusations.

I mentioned doing one last week, then held off hoping to get some info from Ty's filings. Time permitting, I may finish putting it together over the holiday weekend.

Current plan is to only address specific accusations of a specific event, and ignore the general slander ("I heard Vic is a pedophile", "Vic always seemed really creepy", etc).

A thread based solely on the basically bending each and every story that lacks proper evidence to support the claims with the rubber gloves snapping noise prior? I am all for this.

Yes.

I was thinking one major thing this glorious clusterfuck of a day was missing was a concise as possible Vic Mignogna Harassment Campaign In A Nutshell summary for the massive number of people who have heard nothing but the disgusting SJW activist media narrative.

Like what is the absolutely minimalist summary/timeline actively updated in a thread for people to read in a minute or so:

* Vic doesn't want to sign Han Leia's gay porn
* Sabat/Rial/etc first attempt to get Vic removed from his major Dragon Ball role fails
* Vic gets setup to be a director by Funimation
* Vic moves to Texas
* Han Leia starts the twitter attack on Vic because she mistakes Rials former pedophile boyfriend for Vic
* Marguz starts the twitter harassment hashtag
* Rial and others jump on the twitter harassment campaign against Vic with the Jellybean and other stories
* Funimation/Sony do their sham 'investigation' that is really based upon the acts of Rials ex-boyfriend
* Funimation makes their tweets implying they fired Vic because of that investigation
...
* Kara Edwards makes her idiotic attempt at jumping on the Vic harassment campaign. Here are the videos showing she is unambiguously lying.

etc.

My list is a fucking mess and certainly wildly inaccurate but I would have loved to see people linking this type of Vic Mignogna Harassment Campaing In A Nutshell all over the place today. Scumbags like Jennifer Lynn Hunt are tough to quickly summarize since they are an endless stream of ever-changing lies, but I have seen many people today suddenly become enthusiastic Vic supporters once it is broken down for them and they realize this is all coming from a small click of Texas scumbag voice actors and a few lunatic online activists.

Edit:

I'll add that this is one area I believe Nick has really done a poor job making his content accessible to a wider audience. I have spent tens of hours following this sicking attack on Vic and everything makes sense to me now but for the millions of people who haven't done so the 'creepy guy has huge numbers of women complaining about him and he has apologized and admitted such and such acts' narrative is so easy to latch onto.

Nick was doing a good job outlining something similar last night and I hope he starts giving a real quick summary at the start of his shows so more people can grasp the big picture and not be faced with having some three hour stream where some new key evidence against the group of scumbag voice actors comes out but without the broader context of why it matters.

That is the same mod who locked down the Vic thread.

I'm so sick of these fake rape stats. 2% of false accusations, 95% of guilty rapists go free, 10% of rapists serve time, 1 in 4 women are assaulted, what EVER. It's all made up, it's all literally impossible to track, based off of lies, twisted polling, and the assumption that if at any time a woman (not a man) ever feels slightly uncomfortable about something even if she looks back at it 95 years later she must have been legitimately raped, and anything less than decades of prison time for the person she arbitrarily points the finger at is a horrible failure of the justice system. Not one single other form of crime ever in the history of the universe falls under those rules. It's pure insanity to take it at face value and say 'yeah, that makes sense!'

But also, more topically, I find it funny that these people somehow remember how to be reasonable, have a sense of perspective, and be tolerant with people making mistakes or doing inappropriate things in the past so long as it's from 'their side', but the moment someone on the 'other side' makes the tiniest misstep they can never change or be forgiven until they've reincarnated at least two times and suffered one and a half lifetimes of karmic punishment.

That would be fantastic, and precisely: we cannot deconstruct opinions, because those are essentially nothing, if not regurgitated reactions to the origin story. Like a game of Chinese whispers that coagulated from rumor milling into alternative fact, inadvertently creating a stand alone complex of an indefinite number of people saying Vic is a known pedophile, where it likely started that they heard he was. Where they heard it from is essentially where the debunking takes place.

I have a strong suspicion the 'known pedophile' accusation stems directly from Jennifer, given that most of the early claims all sound suspiciously like permutations of the 3 girls in the bedroom story, which I am all but certain she started telling between '07 and '08 to anyone who would listen.

You either die a doxxer or live long enough to become a cow. Shortround can burn in hell with all the other self important exceptional individuals that serve their purpose and don't know when to stop.

Did he get banned too?

I think it could be useful, because there were a lot of unawares on twitter who don't know this situation at all, and are being fed microwaved perspectives from the embittered.

Cannot be forgiven unless you live several soy-fueled samsara. Only then can your moksha reach nirvana.

If I suddenly claimed someone I was competing for a job with had robbed me at gunpoint 20 years ago, and it turned out I was lying but they'd borrowed $5 from me and not returned it instead, by the same reasoning of these witch-hunting crazies, that guy should be locked up for the rest of his life and the fact I got his job as a result shouldn't be allowed to be discussed.
