Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Most likely I see Funimation cutting ties with Sabat's studio and he'll be in direct competition with them, Funi will lose the DBZ license, Sabat's cohorts will migrate to work for Okratron and Funi will either gradually heal after culling their staff and reviewing their own policies, possibly with Sony being more involved and enforcing said polices more.

And Vic..I actually don't know what he'll do. I hope that once his rep is fixed and people see that he was wronged, that he'll get a lot of poeple reaching out to him to do business. I guess I just wish for his future success, no matter what he decides to do.
Honestly I think vic will be okay whether the TCPA fails or passes. Many now see that he was not guilty of what he was accused of.

Okay the voice actor who apparently got abused by Christopher sabat is stephany nadolny.

I asked nick rekieta about this pic months ago on his twitch.tv streams while he was playing chaosbane

I told nick that another voice actor has come out against vic this time on michelle spechts facebook page.

Nick started talking about it saying. "How do you know she's talking about vic. I asked nick how in god nane is it not about vic, mrs nadolyn is litreally replying on michelle spechts facebook.

Then i asked him about this photo,

Nick said once again how do you know she's talking about vic. I asked okay then who is she talking about. Then nick said he has heard that stephany nadolyn was abused by Christopher sabat.

This was way before any info came out on sabats casting couch, and chuck hubers affidavit claiming he has messages from one of the people who got hurt

I asked nick a few months later on his twitch stream if he ever got more info about chris and nadolny. And it seemed like nick was actually in contact with her as he stated i havent got a reply in a while.

Nick has only ever said this once and zipped up after saying it.

Now this is the hard part, i did not clip what nick said on twitch neither do i know which vod it is so please take this with a grain of salt

I am only relaying information that i heard from nick on his twitch stream, i do not know if it is true or not. But this information came from the person with the most knowledge in this case than anyone else

From giant image 2. Was there another important part in these images? I looked over them twice but this is the only Nadolny comment I found.

Here's my crackpot theory: Sabat's natural voice is much whinier and effeminate than anyone is led to believe. Or at least Ty has heard a more whiny version of his voice that few are familiar with.

Much like Kraut's accent turned out to be fake, Sabat's voice is put on as well, or at the very least hammed up. Like if you ever watched Markiplier or Armoured Skeptic I could compare Sabat's voice to that. It sounds fake.

Is there any recording of Sabat where he isn't aware that he is or might be recorded?

I also would point to Sabat's initial hiring. He was hired to replace Brian Drummond as Vegeta. I encourage you to go and look up Drummond's performance as Vegeta. It's not what I would describe as deep or bass sounding.
Well, for a while Sabat's Vegeta was just a copy of Drummond's version. Over time it got deeper, but IMO people overstate the deepness of Sabat's voices for Piccolo and Vegeta. All throughout Z, they weren't as booming as they currently are. I believe Sabat changed his performances up in Kai, and people actually misremember what they sounded like earlier on because of what they eventually turned into.

Me and my brother-in-law have the complete series in the "Orange Brick" releases. If you catch a pre-Ginyu Funi-dubbed episode where the performances sound more like later DBZ, that's because they redubbed those eps much later to replace the Ocean performances. For example, Sabat's Vegeta and Piccolo, as well as Schemmel's Goku, sound infinately better than their early performances starting with episode 68, where they sound like rough, stilted imitations of the Ocean guys.

Does this have to do with Vic? i don't think Vic and Nadonly worked together in 02, maybe in 03 because broly was introduced but Vic had little to no power to abuse anyone since he was still a newbie.

Eh, I knew from the beginning that Specht was only there to play on the human angle. While her affidavit did nothing to add to the lawsuit itself, it's clear that her really bitter words were just to make Vic feel guilty and tug on the heartstrings of anyone who would listen by making it seem like he was a monster toward her. All she did was come across as some scheming, manipulative bitch and while I don't condone the action of cheating on a spouse or a lover, I certainly don't feel bad for her at all. If anything, Vic just avoided being married to that psychopath.

Also, please remember the crazy/hot ratio chart:

Specht is definitely below the yellow line.

She strikes me more as regular old bitter than crazy. I don't think we have any examples of psycho behavior before the breakup, and the only thing we have afterwards is a single e-mail (no Twitter sperging, no stalking, no gay pants slashed to pieces). Having a guy end a 12 year relationship/engagement (that covered the prime of your life) over base infidelity entitles you to a lot of righteous hatred.

That doesn't give her the right to try and destroy a man, but considering how much sway a madeup story from her would carry, this doesn't look like such an attempt. She probably got approached by Monica and asked if she had anything where Vic admitted to stuff, and she gave them the one thing she had. This looks more like Lemoine piling normal human anger on top of the rest of his trash fire filings.

But generally speaking, the Hot/Crazy line is very real.

Does anybody think Season 2 of Weeb Wars might not happen? Like, if. Sabat gets canned from Funimation and the entire company gets screwed over will there even be a point in suing anyone else anymore?

Like those other shows that resolved way too many plot points in one season so either everything ends too quickly or they limp through the next season?
Sabat is the single person with the most resources ripe for extraction - his recording studio - and if Chuck's sworn testimony is to be believed, he's the real final boss and Funimation is just his puppet. If Ty actually has the evidence to back up the claims made in Chuck's affidavit, then Sabat could probably be pinned on conspiracy charges (or something of the sort, I'm not a lawyer).

Also, I dunno if Vic's suit would relate directly to it, but if said evidence exists and is made publicly available, it may evolve into a full-blown Harvey Weinstein situation. I'm not 100% clear on what Weinstein was actually nailed for (I know he was arrested for rape - was that directly connected with the "casting" allegations?) but what Sabat's been doing sounds very, very similar. It's a long shot to call from here, but I think it's a possibility that Season 2 may cap off with a criminal investigation of the goings-ons at Funimation that in turn may lead to Sabat's arrest for sexual assault. Of course, all hinging on the evidence that Ty will be presenting to the court.

If someone calls me a fag I can tell when they are joking and its fine.

But when someone calls me a fag intentionally to get under my skin...that isn't cool.

Sean is the latter.

Leah Clark is unfortunately lacking in brain cells

Also is this possibly why Meredith McCoy basically disappeared from voice acting? Cause of Sabat?

Again she's still voicing 18 in Super

Yeah but Toei is pissed about this. Its essentially taking your first grade art project and pissing/cumming on it then spilling ketchup on it. They don't play. Never piss off Japanese companies or you will pay dearly

My bad. I seem to recall she took a break. If she wasn't one of the ones then who was? Mandy Bonhonme? Kaytha Coker? Jessica Boone moved to Virginia for a period of time in the mid to late 00',s....

Does that mean Manjaw might see court?

What Damage does Manjaw actually do? I don't think any reasonable observer has believed a word she has said... in her entire life. Note the con owner that she started bombarding about Vic a few weeks back. He Googled her and promptly publicly declared her the trash fire she so obviously is.

True, she's at most defamed him with her "he grabbed my ass" story that turned into he stole a projector and made me hurt my back story. Even back then when she said they'd ban him he's still come to the cons.

Man, this series is getting crazy in these latest episodes, are we sure we are following the source material of the manga? They forshadowed Sabat-kun being a secret baddy, but I didn't expect him to be this bad. I also love the inclusion of Chuck Huber, regardless of if he 's canon or not.
After all the coke benders, the writer(s) managed to sober up to do some precise storytelling. First with the JosephTX saga, and now all of this.
Plot twist: WW is authored by Kentaro Miura while he doesn't work on Berserk.
That makes a lot of sense.
I think RT is about to take another L. And to think they were the most professional in all of this. Although, since I don’t know law, can they be fucked if they fired Vic because of Sabat’s alleged influence?
