Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

@neural wasn't Nick also added to lolsuit as well recently for starting the GoFundMe? I don't keep up 100% on all this but I am fairly certain he was.
Nah, a lawyer sent a message that he was intending to pull Riketa into deposition for... reasons. It was made very clear this would be pointless, and way more difficult than it was worth.

Well for one it attributes harm to an unsued party, who to my knowledge was never mentioned in any court filings prior.

If this logic really worked, then every time a killer calls a client, the killer would be released and the case would be closed.

This is a civil court. That's why here discovery is a part of the trial. In criminal proceedings, all the details would be established by a police investigator and prosecutor, and here they would be established during the depositions of the parties, etc. New defendants will be added as they are discovered.

1,200 pages? Is that normal for legal documents, or is this an outlier?

Only the first 106 pages are really new. The rest is just organized evidence obtained by the court earlier. It is enough to browse through them.

So why was Nick ever taken as a referral to Ty to begin with if he is still considered "not involved"? Seems really confusing to me 🤔

Nick referred VIC to Beard.

He said "Vic, you want a good lawyer in your area? I would suggest as your friend, Ty Beard". or some such nonsense tot hat effect. Nick isn't involved in the case, he just suggested a lawyer to Vic.

wtf would attributing harm to an unsued party cause someone to lose a lawsuit? Does the plaintiff have to pretend everyone they arent suing can do no wrong?

Also, you 'knowledge' is wrong because Vic was asked about Chris Sabat during his deposition.

It also left entire arguments by defendants completely unopposed

Theres no point addressing irrelevant arguments.

IANAL, but I am pretty sure Beard can, at the court appointment this is set for, just handwave say "All other arguments are non applicable" or some such, and the Judge can then look at them, look if there was an argument for them by the defendants, and then decide from there.

It also left entire arguments by defendants completely unopposed, which will likely fuck Vic up if he needs to appeal (which he will, the filing is utterly terrible, don't let KickVic's autism make you think they're telling lies).
This isn't summary judgement, or the case itself being filed against.

The only thing BHBH has to do here is defeat TCPA. They don't need to address anything beyond what's needed to make it past this stage.

Law Twitter thoroughly convinced this filing is Malpractice:

In their defense, they just misspelled "conslut."
That was brought up yesterday. The request to dismiss was in the intro instead of the ending prayer for relief. Probably should have been in the prayer for relief too, but it's not going to matter to the court.
What else is new? "OMG U GUIZ, I FOUND A TYPO! TY LOST THE CASE AGAIN!"

IANAL I think Funimation would have to argue that Sabat isn't an agent of Funimation. If that's true and they try, it could be the funniest filing yet.

It's interesting to see Slatosh didn't mention Sabat for TI as that was part of the rumor. Maybe we'll get an updated affidavit if Sabat gets papers atfer the TCPA or maybe he didn't call and that part of Nick's info was wrong.

For perspective, Stephen Kings IT is roughly 1,140 pages long. I know there’s pictures and stuff, but that’s a lot of work. Who’s job is it to read all of that?
The actual meat of the filing is ~50 pages. The rest is included evidence, of which the affidavits are completely new.

Given what was written in the filing, I would assume there's more information tying Sabat and Schemmel to the conspiracy and TI, but it wasn't necessary for the TCPA filing since they aren't defendants. Well, not defendants yet, I suppose.

Sabat is a higher up at Funimation who wields considerable power, why would he not be mentioned in a legal document aimed at Funimation?

It is kind of funny how they've tried to maintain a united front.

These defendants don't actually have a common interest. In each case, the best possible strategy would be to directly point the finger at the other.

To this point, I've been chalking it up to Believe Wahmen. If this continues after the 6th, I'd question the defendant's litigation strategy.

Especially when the defendants claim first that Vic used his power to silence "victims" and that funimation, in particular, claims that they're opposed to sexual harassment whilst their internal culture is more sexually charged than a frat house full of hookers and one of their vice principals is using his position of considerable power within the industry to obtain sexual favours from in exchange for VA work.

It speaks directly to the claims made against Vic. It would be stupid to not include it.

This is why I wonder why Funi didnt immediately file for a TCPA, they thought they wouldn't leak shit or what?

So guys can someone who isn't completely ignorant at law explain to me if Ty beards motion to strike is good or bad?

Some tard on discord is saying hucks affidavit impacts Vic's case negatively and that Vic is basically fucked. He also said after going through ty's motion to strike, he thinks it's a disaster and that Vic is fucked. Apparently there are contradictory statements.

Personally, the dude is full of shit. He has defended Greg lying multiple times
