Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

TPN means you're really super duper sick, way sicker than those losers who only have a feeding tube. only the sickest of the sick get TPN.

Just more dumb munchie bragging rights.

Speaking of fatties claiming they don't eat, Autistic Kat Food Watch update:

We got some cinnamon raisin bagels, a bottle of pancake syrup, a variety pack of potato chips, coffee K-cups, english muffins... Totally someone who can't eat anything and needs to be on TPN!
And yet she is still baffled by her weight gain. A mystery indeed 🤔

More Linda Li stuff from her eds group. She is on a lot less opiates than she was on back in her intervention days.

Still blames her parents and sees iffy practitioners

That's all for now. I can only handle so much crazy at a time and she is really up there on the crazy level.

So let’s talk about seizure disorders and why it’s unlikely these people have legit epilepsy.
1. People with epilepsy don’t know they’re having seizures until some else tells them.
2. Deep brain seizures that don’t show up on eegs isn’t really a thing what’s happening is movement artifact is covering up the seizure activity. So look for seizure activity before the movement and you have a true seizure, but reading eegs is an art form.
3 no one can flim or photograph them selves in a true seizure.
4 people don’t get up and do a bunch of crap after a seizure they sleep (save absence seizures)
5. Seizures are the most commonly faked medical emergency

People fake them because unless hooked up to an eeg, they're hard to prove or disprove, unless they're doing something like the above that can't be done during a seizure. Like in this video of Bee. You can see her punching herself, deliberately spitting out saliva and appears at one point to look over to her mum. Her whole family are involved with the faking so it's hard to tell whether she is a complete munchie or whether there is an element of MBP or both

They also look dramatic so instantly get attention especially when done infront of people which is why I imagine so many fake them. Most of these people nearly always have "complex seizures" or "non treatable seizures." they never have simple epilepsy it's always something extreme which usualy gives away that they're not real.

I guess in some cases there may be psychogenic seizures if anything.

Whatever it is munchies seem to love to pull off the fakey shakies

Fakey shakies is hilarious. The best ones are when munchies try to pull off a drop seizure.

To state your pain is a 40 and worst than cancer and to continually complain you don't get enough norcos is an addict. She wants to switch to opana, which pretty damn powerful.
The fluroquione (mostly cipro and levaquin) causing issues has nothing to do with your aorta. The drug class received a warning after an increased likelihood of Achilles tendon rupture. In long term trials it was proven. There is no written literature about it causing issues with the vascular system.

How can a drug affect your Achilles tendon like that?

Ah, this is definitely a thing. I've heard of Levaquin in particular being one of the worst for this, with Cipro being another common offender. This NIH article explains that "risk factors associated with FQ-induced tendon disorders include age greater than 60 years, corticosteroid therapy, renal failure, diabetes mellitus, and a history of musculoskeletal disorders."

It'll jack up your joints if you're one of the unlucky ones, but it's definitely not going to affect your aorta. Munchies are really good at cherry-picking the wrong information and applying it where they wish.

In case you were concerned, #DyingJessi is still dying. See?
I love when these people are so so bad at this. Dying Jessi cannot he discharged from the hospital bc she cannot survive without IV nutrition. Yet she posts this photo with a soda and Pringle’s that are CLEARLY hers (positioning etc.) apparently being unable to eat or drink excludes anything you WANT to eat or drink.

ETA- Sorry for being such an idiot - this was mentioned several times. In my defense I didn’t see anyone post the actual photo of said junk food. Also I went out to brunch and am due for a nap so I blame the Bloody Marys for my lack of attention to detail.

On that note, Dani is also "TPN Dependent" due to her super severe GP (borderline GES for solids; normal for liquids) and sounds like she might be purging. Sorry is this cause I called you fat?

Was she testing out her gag reflex with the toothbrush? I wonder does her team know how much candy and energy drinks she consumes while she struggles to eat with her "GP"

The FDA issued a warning last year of the possibility of potential aortic dissection in certain patients, and that providers should not prescribe fluoroquinolone antibiotics to "patients who have an aortic aneurysm or are at risk for an aortic aneurysm, such as patients with peripheral atherosclerotic vascular diseases, hypertension, certain genetic conditions such as Marfan syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and elderly patients."

This one is too boring to do a full report on but shows how some of the TPN munchies get really long hospital stays. Piss the TPN company off to the point they won't provide you services.

"I will die within hours to days" jesus christ. I don't know how any of these people can write this shit and be like "yeah that sounds like something a doctor would tell his patient!"

I'm curious myself and looking for it.

I did find a paper on the possible mechanism for aortic dissection though.

eta: whoops, almost doubleposted. KFS saved me.

eta2: Possible mechanism for tendon issues

Proposed Mechanism

Fluoroquinolones have been hypothesized to compromise tendon function and increase risk of injury, especially in weight-bearing joints most subject to mechanical force,8 via several possible mechanisms. These medications may cause direct tissue injury, including necrosis or exposure-dependent cellular apoptosis.13 They may also induce toxicity indirectly by stimulating local release of tissue-damaging substances, including nitric oxide and oxygen-derived species, or by stimulating enzymes that degrade collagen.7,14,15

Another hypothesis is that fluoroquinolones may inhibit mammalian DNA topoisomerase II, resulting in cellular mitochondrial toxicity.8 Fluoroquinolones, which are known chelators of cations, may deplete divalent ions essential for appropriate integrin receptor signaling.8,13

I completely missed the pringles can, and pretty much everything else and went straight to the guy striking a blow job pose with a dog between his legs..

I teach a module about malingerers to new hires at the community health clinic.

Way, way back before I ever worked here we had an older black lady get diagnosed with brain cancer. Was scheduled for surgery, then delayed it for as long as humanly possible while she collected disability checks. For...roughly six years I think. Refused referral to community oncology.

At no point did imaging ever show evidence of cancer, and nobody I have ever spoken to knows how the original diagnosis happened, but "professional courtesy" got in the way of anyone ever pointing it out at the time. So, basically, I tell the staff to feel free to call out diagnoses they don't think are correct.
I would love to know some sources for physician education. I think malingering is becoming more and more common.
I wonder how often it starts with opiate or benzo seeking and graduates once they get attention, as others have said repeatedly BPD is often linked.

In my state we have restricted patients if they are on medical assistance and are suspected of overutilization. I wish this was universal with all insurances and everywhere. Basically, patient has ONE prescribing doctor for everything and ONE pharmacy doesn't matter if you go on vacation, it doesn't matter if you get ortho surgery or have a neurologist it all needs to go through the restricted provider and they can deny anything. They also have to be in charge of all referrals meaning patient tries to see a specialist without a referral it gets flagged usually and insurance definitely won't pay for it.. It sucks for the doctor who they are restricted to, but it cuts down on the BS some.

Thanks for clarifying folks, Achilles tendon just struck me as being very random.

Close but no cigar. DJ's have that old lady carpet design and colors and she wore them with a clashing floral top. Those are quite hideous though and the way you can see mens feet at the bottom below her feet is a bit creepy. Step away from the passed out munchie plz

Edit: Just realized it's the same girl. Sweet Jesus someone burn her sock drawer.
