StoneToss (allegedly, formerly Red Panels)

So if this is just supposed to be a stupid joke that people aren't meant to actually buy into, then all of the comics like this are just stupid jokes and we basically have to discard everything we think about Stonetoss's politics because apparently he doesn't actually mean any of it. Which makes it a weird coincidence that his comics paint a very consistent alt-right worldview if his only intent is stupid/shock humor.
If you have trouble detecting the difference between seriousness and humor, you might be autistic. There's a clear line of satire and silliness that Stonetoss treads if you're familiar with satirical cartooning and the idea of edgy humor.

1. Mechanical engineer? Why would you believe claims of authority from random anonymous commenters?

2. I'm not defending the steelbeams as I think it's mostly a meme part, much like metoo is meme part of hollywood casting couches, pedophilia and other far more serious stuff than a boss in an office groping his secretary. Not that the latter is okay, but it was an obvious smokescreen to distract and hide hollywood's open secrets. It's a though terminating meme part.

But meme parts lend themselves good for jokes as they tend to be in everyone's public consciousness.

I don't think that guy is actually a mechanical engineer. I do think that what he says about steel softening at high temperatures is correct.

You also believe that Stonetoss isn't just satirizing Alexa's spying and word-search blacklists, but is actually endorsing thermite/holographic towers/whatever it is you think he "really means."

I mean seems like a lot of people care about stonetoss and agree with many of his comics. I hear all kinds of stories from people about sharing some of the more mild stonetoss stuff with their parents and family. It's probably true that the "alt-right" whatever alt right even means anymore doesn't have much influence especially now but surprisingly or not surprisingly some of their viewpoints are beginning to become more popular. If you asked people if the media hates white people a surprising number of people would say yes. If you ask does israel have an affect on US politiics people might look to Iran and go yes.

That's because Stonetoss is actually funny and an example of the right way (pun intended) to shift the Overton window. Humorless autistic screeching about how POTATO DRUMPF HAS BETRAYED THE WHITE RACE is an example of exactly what not to do, unless your goal is to lose friends and alienate people.

That one Potato Drumpf parody twitter account is hilarious though, you've got to admit.

I don't know if he does or doesn't believe in that conspiracy theory. It could just be a joke or it could be a comic reflection of what he really believes. Do you think that his comics about Jews and blacks reflect his real beliefs, or are just jokes as well?

Stonetoss is a right-wing satirist. All of his politically-charged comics have both a punchline and a subtext, even if the subtext is just "this will make people irrationally mad whether it's true or not, and we should ask why."

It's not about seriousness vs humor. It's about using humor to make a political point vs humor that's not being used to make a political point. If you don't understand this you might be the autist. So tell me, smart guy, are the first two strips making a point about race or not? If they are, what makes their jokes different than the last strip that they're making a point and it isn't?

All three are making a point, but the point the last one is making isn't really about 9/11. It was drawn around the time that it came out that Amazon was curating search results on topics they considered politically incorrect. The point of the comic is that Alexa (a stand-in for big tech in general) won't tell you the truth, if the truth isn't what the people behind it want you to hear. Using a memetic topic like 9/11 and the steel beams thing is a way of spreading the comic through controversy without making it unpalatable to normies, as well as targeting something that people know well enough to understand at first glance.

You know it's really hard sometimes to put myself into in this case, your shoes, and look at those first two as making a political comment about race.

I guess to you it looks like the first is inventing the political lie that there are differences in intelligence between races?

When I read the first one, I see a joke about the fact that it's a taboo to talk about heritability of intelligence (despite that being by far the strongest predictor of intelligence, with heritability (parent IQ) being about a factor 6 stronger than schooling+wealth+adoptive parents combined). Whether that says something about race or not is a secondary point. It may be an inevitable conclusion that there are differences in averages when it is heritable as the data shows. Since in public discourse you can't mention anything besides sociocultural causes.

I guess when you look at the second one, you see racist comment about (supposedly) bad black owners?

When I see the second one, I see someone being a smartass and then inadvertantly saying something that would be regarded as racist, possibly rightly so.

I guess when you see the third comic, you see a head-nod to the fact that jet fuel can't melt steel beams and by extension, that 9/11 is a hoax.

When I see the third one, I see something like when 4chan autists got an AI chatbot to tweet that hitler got swag; in this case asking innocuous questions that would lead to an answer that should be censored.

Am I getting your perspective right? Do you get mine?

Yeah, pretty much. I still think that mine is the much more obvious conclusion to come to, but fair enough.

Wow.

First, a genuine heartfelt thanks for the honest response.

I tried to do it to the best of my (limited) ability, but it was hard as it felt like I was really trashing you, as in (if I exaggerate the thought) : "Why would someone think so stupidly", which is probably how you think about me then, lol.

I think this is a bit better than some of the other comics he has made recently. Reminds me of the skeptics thinking that their content would save the west. Also this comic appears to be setup better than normal like the punchline hits better I think. As well as the punchline being less obvious than some of them before. But best of all this is going to make some people on the right angry Im sure.
