Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

It’s not even the craziest strategy out there. After Chris Savino was fired, one of the sisters from Loud House came out as bisexual and got a girlfriend. Guess what people talk about nowadays?

Actually, Luna coming out was done before Chris Savino got fired.

Ah, my mistake. Must has just been timing.
Still, I’ve noticed that if a work is just woke enough, people will eventually forget about the controversy. Compare people’s discussions about Ren and Stimpy to people’s discussions about Loud House.
Mind you, this is assuming 12 Forever is getting a second season, which is looking pretty unlikely.

That's because Chris Savino was a garden-variety sexual harasser and John K. was a pedophile with a history of awful shit going back years.

I want a new series of Eddie Puss. That shit was lit.

Erm....yeah I just saw this on twitter and it relates to the previous page's discussion.

Apparently Julia Vickerman was a writer of the notorious "power puff girl twerking" episode and if what I am hearing/reading is true was the one who wrote the exact scene in question

So um, mystery solved as to why the fuck that was in a childrens cartoon

She was hardly the only pedo involved in that absolute disgrace.

Remember how the PIDF came out in force to defend Jake Goldman against the totally fake channer gamergater nonsense?

So, is anyone gonna watch the SU movie? I would, but it's my day off and I'd rather enjoy it before going back to work.
My plan is to look at the discourse after it's finished airing, because there absolutely will be some, and piece together what's happened from there.

I'm watching it as background noise while studying toward something productive..... Unless you enjoy bad musicals in place of actual conflict worth a damn (as much as I can't / won't stop you from doing this, anyway), I wouldn't waste your time, m8. Also, the "villain" is a total joke that makes me wish I was watching old-school Tom & Jerry / Looney Tunes (e.g.: what I grew up with, hence my love for BOTH), instead, to be honest with you AND myself, completely.

Being further honest - because this show is still going... I still can't believe is still going after all this. To be fair, "Change Your Mind" and now THIS... Not really good endings / closure points like they should have aimed to be, looking at both of these back-to-back.

You really expect this show to be consistent with it's self?

I think this show has quietly killed my ability to almost, almost know what consistency (and in some cases, continuity) truly is... That's - not a good sign. I may have raised myself on reruns of old-school Tom & Jerry / Looney Tunes, but I know bad storytelling when I see it (and yes, Star Vs. counts, too. Fight me.).

I’ll check it out when I can, mainly because I do actually enjoy the show a lot. But that comes from staying away from the vast majority of the fandom. It has its flaws, but I still think it’s worth watching.

If fusions are supposed to be a metaphor for sex/relationships/whatever, then........:(
It's supposed to be for just any kind of relationship, I think. Not that I blame anyone for thinking it's all sexual since the ones that get the most attention both in-show and in the fandom are the lesbian ones,

Yeah, fusions are “relationships”, not “sex”. People just claim it’s the later because apparently that’s all the former is to them.
