She's definitely got me. From the anime I watched the Ghost in the shell, some Miyazaki movies, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop. A long time ago, I encountered Sailor Moon, Grendeiser, Voltron, Ultraman, Pokémon, etc. I don't know if "Avatar: The Last Airbender" counts (not Japan).
In general, as far as I'm concerned, I'm not an anime fan at all. Besides, if I'm going to watch something now, I'm going to watch it with subtitles.
It's just weird why she thinks it's good. Vic has a lot of real fans standing in line for him at conventions. And she knows she can't compete here. But now he also has a massive external support group. And she won't have one. Those MeToo`s who haven't heard of this story yet won't stand up for the casting couch and leaked audio. But in our camp there will only be more people.
I enjoy the art style a lot, which is extremely varied compared to Western animation, which outside of the 1980s, has generally stuck to a very crude, bland, non-detailed style. Also most Western animation only falls into 2 groups: Children and Adult Comedy. There's really not much choice there.
So I say I'm a fan because I've loved it since Record of Lodoss War, Project Ako, Macross, Ghost in the Shell, Akira (I must have seen this when I was like fucking 10), Vampire Hunter D....etc. I could never gel with American voices. They were also so fucking bad, they didn't really seem to treat it seriously. Way different from Japanese voice actors. I mean when I was a kid, I had to hunt VHS tapes in stores and rental places for anything. There was literally nothing back then to guide you on what was good. Also good luck on trying to collect a whole series. That was a bitch.
She thinks its good because she's delusional. She's being reinforced by Twitter and by people who only agree with her. There's nothing outside of her bubble. Reality doesn't care about 'her truth'. In reality, I wouldn't be surprised if she was dead in the industry. Nobody wants a toxic cunt running around telling stories 20 years later. She doesn't have anybody. The only people she has are the very few sycophants who will forget her name when the case is over, and her inner circle who will likely never work in dubbing again after the Funi scandal.
Our camp grows because we can see the situation for ourselves. I mean, isn't it obvious? Just think about the case, logically:
1) Vic was unknown nearly to everyone on this forum, even those who watched Anime. I love me my Jojo, and I had no idea he was in it. Even if you listen to dubs, I highly doubt you can name the voice actor unless you're really hardcore about the character and that's a fraction. Nobody is going to know this guy except if he works local and the Starbucks barista recognizes him as the guy who 'makes Chinese cartoons'. Its not possible to view him as a celebrity. As a celebrity compared to normies? Sure. A celebrity among normies? Fuck no. Not even one among anime fans. Don't care what the court rules, no fucking way he's a public figure.
2) These 'traumatizing' allegations are decades old. The only evidence we have of them is a contradictory statement by the 'victim' and not a single, solitary police report, not any written disciplinary action, nothing. These traumatizing allegations just so happened to coincide with Vic possibly landing a directing job and the biggest opening for an anime, ever, in the US.
3) If he's attended cons with hundreds of people, why are there conflicting affidavits? If he is so sexually aggressive, why is there not one police report? I've known cases where men were sexually agressive and that shit got reported, constantly. These people had records. Not Vic. There's not a single, solitary picture in this age of a recording device on every living being, on every building and in every hallway? Not possible. The most autistic among us would have long since dug up any dirt and if he was what they say, we would have torn his spaghetti nigger ass to pieces. For fun, of course. Nothing like a little chaos for us Kiwis. We'd probably (God help us) hand that shit over to Lemoine. But here's the thing. We haven't. found. a. thing. Nothing. Nothing but vague rumors on a gossip forum. Nothing, but accusations with no proof. Why is there nothing? The truth is because there's nothing there. Vic is a handsome man. Most people weren't traumatized. Maybe uncomfortable. But making someone uncomfortable is not sexual assault, not in the eyes of the courts or public opinion of the sane.
4) Funimation has revealed itself to be an unprofessional organization run by hypocrites and a possible rapist. Its CEO lets its employees do whatever they want and has very little interest in equitable treatment. One of their own runs a casting couch. For all their complaints of harassment, they've run extremely inappropriate skits with IP they do not own. Vic got fired for a jellybean, trying to have a threesome with no one who ever reported him and allegedly pulling hair in a lobby a decade ago. Now we have affidavits sexual jokes, sexual relationships and all sorts of inappropriate behavior was common. Why was Vic singled out? Why wasn't any other male implicated if this was common?
The results don't add up to Vic doing anything worse than any of the others did. The answer is extremely, extremely simple. Vic is a good-looking man. He has the wrong politics. He has the wrong religion. He doesn't keep the right friends. He didn't kiss Sabat's ring, made a lot of money, and was in danger of threatening Sabat's hold on the studio with a director position. So there was a monetary danger. There was jealousy. And they just did not fucking like him. So he had to go.
They stabbed him in the back and thought he wouldn't resist. He did. Now its all falling apart. Their reputations are in shambles, their company is in shambles, they are most likely suffering financially. Vic can lose right now. He can lose the case this very second. It no longer matters. Ty can sleep easy knowing he fulfilled his promise to Vic's mom.
Vic, in every respect, has already won. The people who destroyed him have been exposed. Their company will never, ever be the same. Its been revealed that they're abusers themselves, disrespectful of properties they don't own. Their word has been shown to be worth absolutely nothing and no one will ever trust them again in business. His support base has grown exponentially. Theirs, if they ever had one, will move on and forget they ever existed in a few months, moving on to the next outrage of the week to get their dopamine high from.
In my mind, the war is over. The result is decided. There's only the matter now of how big of a victory it will be.

People who say: "ONLY THE TRUE FANS SUPPORT ME" are losing. Its because they no longer have any sort of majority and are in the minority and are desperate to cling to any support they have. If you have mobs of people supporting you, you don't need to say it. You can see it. The reason why she's saying it, is that she doesn't see it because its not there. And she's doing anything she can to get any more people over to her side.
