You say it, like CTC isn't just autistic Twitter mob. Most of the creators left the site, because all of them had YouTube channels or Patreon accounts and were afraid of harassment by autistic fanbase of CA. How the hell Alison and Co could achieve something bigger? By tweeting their hosting service until it would take the site down? After some time people would just point out that their grievances are some goofy shit, that people with normal jobs see every day. Also, Brad wouldn't left anyway and would be harassed even harder, so that would be their JW moment.
Fair enough. It's just that when the exodus was happening and Doug was bleeding subscribers and the tenth anniversiary was canceled back to back to back, it really seemed like Channel Awesome was burning to the ground and Doug was fucked because "I QUIT". But with people like MisAnthroPony, you feel like that there's butthurt over people being denied the chance to dance around the ashes
It seemed like that because so many people were talking about it, simply because it was the newest drama and also because of how laughable the stories in that google doc was. Hell, Doug was literally doing shit Tommy Wiseau did during The Room. But after that, Allison and the others did nothing to capitalise on their new-found spotlight and so it quickly went away, especially after the reveal they covered up JW's rape. But that would have happened anyway because Allison and the rest really have nothing about them that's all that interesting without Doug there to give them a leg up.
@MarzGurl wrote a preamble to the Google doc that basically said they didn’t have an endgame in mind, that the document was to “raise awareness” like so many other things this crowd does. It’s clear that a lot of the contributors wanted Michaud removed, but since he owns the company and doesn’t have to answer to a board of directors, it’s not like there was much of a chance of that unless he left voluntarily. I know I have pointed this out many times before, but a decent chunk of CA’s creators started making content right out of high school or as they were working menial retail/custodial jobs, meaning very few of them have ever had a real job and thus don’t know to behave. I hasten to point out that this is the case for Michaud, too. Basically this is what happens when you gather a bunch of autism in a sack and start shaking it.
