And when figures on the left appear who are actually knowledgeable about economics, such as Wolff and Cockshott, the redlibs shut them down for having a handful of opinions that aren't kosher. They care a lot more about conformity than insight.Actually arguing economics with socialists is an exercise in futility.
It's a religion, and the same way an SJW looks foolish flinging what is actually said in the Bible to a hypocrite believer, flinging Marxist thought at a leftist is equally ineffectual, since in neither case do they understand what they are actually identifying with.
Bit of a powerlevel, but meh. I'm off to a bar now.
My theory is that trans ideology and idpol leftism are transmitted through similar methods, which is why they tend to be co-morbid. Let's start with the latter. This part resonated with me the most because I've noticed that too. A lot of the friends I made online in highschool back then we're pretty deep in the Chan culture of putting fag and nigger in just about everything they said but after about 2014 was when they all got Tumblr accounts then just about every one of the trooned out at the exact same time and became full out antifa sympathisers at best with one or two actually being part of it
Christ, what the fuck happened? I always knew that people changed but I didn't think they'd change that much
The most important subreddit in reddit's far-left community is r/LateStageCapitalism. It basically serves as a motte for the rest of the communist subs by stating a very obvious point: "Capitalism is the cause of horrible excesses and atrocities". That's a pretty rock-solid point that nobody can really disagree with. They use this motte to ease the sub's readers into their ideology, subtly interlacing their own talking points into the discourse until communism has a foothold in your mind. Once that's done, they throw you into the bailey: r/FULLCOMMUNISM. You see the memes there and begin to fully conceptualize the warped worldview of internet radlib-ism, while being able to dismiss counters to your ideology ("Why do socialism and anti-racism/feminism/LGBT rights have to be intertwined? Why would a communist system be any better than the current one? Do we have an actual economic plan?") by retreating into the "capitalism is bad" motte. This article is somewhat relevant:

Trans ideology runs along a parallel line. The motte in this case is r/egg_irl, and the bailey is r/traaaa. Egg_irl states a very obvious point: "young men have lots of insecure thoughts and they have to pretend not to". (as well as a lot of appeals to weebs). They're able to interlace what are effectively targeted ads for transitioning in with this point, catching flies with honey, throwing their love-bombs and social support at anyone who shows the slightest sign of self-doubt. I'm a single, socially inept young adult male, the target audience for this sub, and even though I am completely disgusted by troonery because of what I've seen on this site, I can see the appeal. They hook you in by appealing to your insecurities (in the former case, about the ruling order, and in this case about your own gender / sense of belonging) and then immerse you in an ideological "alternate universe" until you become a True Believer. It's fucking evil.
Now combine this with the format of tumblr, facebook and other social networking sites, which limit what the user sees to content produced by a small clique of friends and groups. While Reddit has a front page and generic subs to encourage a reasonably sane and diverse discourse, these sites have no such thing. If even a handful of people are hooked by these communities' initial premise (or by another site), they'll subscribe to trans/communist groups or blogs and share their posts, effectively spewing their poison all over the place and immersing others in these messages without the others having to seek them out. It's basically Dawkins' conception of memes as self-replicating entities: the internet has created (traditional) memes that make people smash windows and mutilate themselves.
I used to browse r/LSC, but was turned off by the links to r/communism and the sidebar telling you to read Marx and Mao. It's a lot more subtle now. Funny how, in this case, a dull hook catches more fish.
