Are videogames for children?

I bought Remnant: From The Ashes and decided to try it out.

Game reminds me a lot of Destiny and Dark Souls like if they had a child together. I heard the bosses were real tough.
I tried to solo the first boss but I kept getting destroyed. The area you fight him in is smol and while you fight him you have this enemies that charge toward you and explode to give you this status effect called infection where it's similar to paralysis in which you enter a coughing fit and walk incredibly slowly. On top of that if the boss clipped you with his sword, you'd get a bleed debuff that gradually drains your health and it takes a veeeeeeeeery long time to wear off, all the while your health is draining rapidly. You get these things called Dragon Hearts that act like the estus flasks of this game.
I like it. I want to play more. I had fun even though I got destroyed a bunch.

Sony apparently bought Insomniac games.

With them being the sole owners of Spiderman now, I figure we're going to get a whole Spider Metaverse and the games are going to be a large part of it.

ResetEra are upset at the developers of Ion Fury because they said some mean things

All the more reason to buy it

After a statement indicating that the devs and 3drealms were going to censor out the “problematic” content, they apparently will not be doing so.

I hope the rumor is true that we're getting Dragon Quest Monsters sequel that uses Unreal 4.

No doubt it will be mostly re-purposed DQ11 assets, but they'll finally be able to put Pokemon to shame and have a proper 3rd person monster catching game in full 3d.

The first response explains it perfectly.
"The people who never planned on buying being fake outraged"

Few of the minuscule population that is troons would have bought the game even if the character had kept the ridiculous tits and was forced to date trannies between levels.

Speaking of troon, is it true that the option for choosing your gender was removed from Cyberpunk 2077? If so, I'm going to scratch that game off my wishlist.

It’s true. In place of a gender selection, you choose a body type and all options for appearance are available, so you can make a chick with a lumberjack beard!

I’m kind of shocked at how short Yakuza Kiwami 2 has turned out to be. It’s been a long time since I played the original 2, and I thought it was more than 16 chapters.

I was disappointed with the mutated Sotenbori map and the total removal of the second area in Osaka, but the localization is stellar and the graphics in the Dragon Engine are great.

It's basically Saint's Row customization and anyone who makes a big deal out of it is a fag.

I want to see if it's possible to make Motoko or Gally.

Has anyone played "Observer", the "cyberpunk Horror" game starring Rutger Hauer? I need a break from cartoon-y games.

I played through it in two sittings and it had me hooked the whole time. I love mystery type stuff, and one of the things I loved about it the most was, in my opinion, there are three types of walking simulators:
A. The narrative type, which build a story and world around you. Observer would fall into this.
B. The atmospheric type, which relies on a gimmick and/or fancy appearance. I'd say Kairo would fall into this category, and perhaps so would that game involving switchboard puzzles I can't recall the name of for the life of me right now.
C. The shit type, failing both of the former, and being a pure walking simulator that you MIGHT find good as a timekiller one time through, but probably not.

Like I said, Observer would be Type A. I kept wanting to know more about the world itself and what was going on it. One part I found interesting is the one apartment you go question, which revealed pure humans without cybernetic augmentation were rare, but also that the father sounded a tad creepy, almost...cult-like in his rejection of them.

All these small things like that pile in and you start piecing together what the world itself is like, by observing emails, the atmosphere(what kind of items/tech/equipment are in individual apartments you can enter, i.e.), and meeting, or at least speaking with, the people living there.

Also I have a huge bias towards cyberpunk, dystopia settings, and what I call "grunge tech".

I wouldn't say that one's right at the top but it's pretty up there on my list of stuff to check out. It looks really fun.

Is anyone playing Control?

I love Sam Lake and the premise looks interesting, it's just a shame about the generic female protagonist and 505 Games sexist stunt.

Finished Yakuza Kiwami 2 yesterday and went into Premium Adventure mode to clear up a few things. I feel like I accomplished something by clearing all the bouncer missions, but I’m not happy to have to do golf center shit to actually fight the Amon clan in solo fights. Ugh.

I jewed out for a Switch Lite cus it's the closest to a unique gaming console that isn't just a streaming pc. What games are worth getting?

I've honestly no interest in all the weeb copy-paste games, but Ni no Kuni looks pretty unique. Other than Animal Crossing and Pokemon I don't immediately vibe with anything, but I'd rather invest in meh exclusives than buy Zodiac Age for the 4th time.

I like astral chain alot, that's worth a pick up.

Hooboy I would have waited. They didn't change the mechanisms for the joycons which means after a few months of playing you're going to get drifting and other fuckery except now you can't replace the joycons with a new set.

No No Kuni is garbage I've played both games to full completion both are tedious ass.

Get Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 2: Torna. If you want the inferior switch port of Dragon Quest 11 because it comes with 10 minutes of extra content in exchange for greatly decreased view distance and visuals get that. As someone who did everything humanly possible in Dragon Quest 11 I can vouch for it not being shit and having like next to no real downsides.

I'm on the fence about Fire Emblem 3 houses it's not as elaborate as other SRPGs like Utawererumono or even Disgaea. It also greatly sucks compared to other paragons of the genre like DOS2.
