How prevalent? Not very. If you filter out the 20-something year old “Hey I just read about poly, and it seems soooo cool” people, most of the poly-people seem to mostly be 30-40 year old, pretty unfuckable minorities. Like the “pansexual femme person” who’s in a triad with two “bisexuals”.
I reckon that only 10% or so of the people who are attracted to the concept or philosophy (or just wants to get laid!) actually stick with it.
The other 90% quickly realize that polyamory in practice is neither as easy or as fun as they were led to believe, and quickly disappear in a flurry of “Why is this so hard?!” or “Wife is having her first date, I’m dying inside” posts.
I'm presuming you don't mean "minorities" in the American sense of "black people", because I really don't think there are too many of those on Reddit.
